You know something’s shifty when a news account disables replies.
So let’s just have a quick investigate.
The letter itself is nonsensical guff. Whether the “far right” (current population: almost everyone) are bad and racist or not has absolutely no relationship to whether they’re standing up for women’s rights. The two things are unconnected. Every bad person isn’t every bad thing. You can be a homophobe who isn’t a racist and vice versa.
It’s also factually inaccurate.
Whether it’s tasteful to point it out or not, the highlighted statement above appears to be false as a matter of empirical fact. There is in fact a considerable body of evidence for the claim that migrants are proportionately more likely to commit such crimes. But that’s a separate debate.
The point here is that many of the signatories have done far more to harm women than Nigel Farage or Tommy Robinson could ever dream of.
For a start there are at least four (and we believe more) men in the list:
– Mridul Wadhwa, now calling himself a “Gender based violence worker”
Like, that’s your credibility shot to ribbons right there, but we’ll carry on for fun.
– “Safespace Tayside”, which is actually a man calling himself Kay McNeil, who works for the Civil Service and was recently seen at an event in Dundee at which transactivists told JK Rowling “We should all take a shite on you, you heinous creeping old bitch”, despite McNeil having said beforehand, with a knowing eyebrow-raise, “The authorities will be there so we need to be on our best behaviour”.
(Presumably if nobody’s watching you can be as foul as you like.)

– and a whole great truckload of all the omnipresent professional career activists who show up everywhere there might be a grant going unclaimed in Scottish civic society to explain what massive bigots all Scots are, like freelance anti-racism consultant Iffat Shahnaz, Katchura Bento (the “Lecturer in Race and Decolonial Studies” at Edinburgh University), Talat Yaqoob and Jen Ang, and Lena Wanggren and Talat Ahmed of “Stand Up To Racism”, allies of revolting transactivist Thomas Carlin, who aggressively disrupts feminist meetings and shouts abuse at rape survivors as “Cabaret Against The Hate Speech”.
In short, all of the people who’ve spent the majority of the last decade treacherously undermining women’s rights in Scotland are suddenly pointing at Nigel Farage and asking you to blame him for it.
(The tiny handful of signatories who really ought to have known better, like Michelle Thomson and Ruth Wishart, might want to pay more attention to whose team they’re signing up to in future.)

Basically she cruised and stalled on Brexit and then sickeningly self promoted daily on TV during all of Covid. Together these two key periods covered 70% of her time as FM.
Her claim of suffering imposter syndrome is implausible.

What is it with train activists?
Personally I don’t care about Class 390 Pendilinos, class 222 DMUs, class 357 EMUs or steam locomotives for that matter as long as the correct train is used for the correct purpose.
What I don’t expect to see is the Flying Scotsman perched precariously but “proudly and fabulous” on a high speed monorail track, or for that matter cars that think they are trains rattling and bumping across the Glenfinnan aqueduct exclaiming “its only a matter of opinion”..
I mean, even whatsis name Branson with his infamous anti stereotype airline commercial hasn’t gone so far as to replace the image of one of his airliners in flight with that of one of his trains in flight with brand imaging on its side proclaiming “no debate”!!

Just back from walking chienne YL and saw the most recent example of First Bus Glasgows “speciality” branding on some of its buses.
It’s moved on from “Pride hand holding it’s a sin” to get into the divisive and polarising topic of Train Activism.
The latest First Bus “special” piece of brainwashing has a large round cartoon smiley face on the front of its bus with huge cartoon font messaging on the sides saying “I’m Thomas Too”..

I have not voted for a number of years now, I have no leanings towards any political party for the simple reason none of them say what they mean, follow their manifesto’s to detail and all of them hide their intentions by what was omitted being said by them.
And they all switch leaders at the drop of a hat without asking the people if this is OK, or make alliances with other parties after your vote, to ensure they get in to power or shared power no matter what.

And meanwhile in the real world the Easy Jet flight first thing this morning from Glasgow to Bristol was met by armed police who demanded that passengers form two queues with one comprising of UK citizens and the other non UK citizens where after they had to produce either passports or driving licences.
With many of the 180 or so passengers traveling for business purposes it seems that there was chaos and many angry words as police shouted that the identity checks were part of a national initiative.
Quite what national initiative allows police to stop everyone departing an internal flight and to demand photographic ID is interesting since they have no legal right to do so. Maybe its that Scots are considered unwelcome aliens. Maybe its an exercise in police power or their ability to intimidate.

These ‘far right’ activists are not going out on demonstrations to ensure middle class professional woman are getting a chance to further their careers, they are out because they think they are doing so to ensure women and children are safe to walk the streets.
Whether this assumption that woman are not safe from these immigrants is correct or not is another thing but it is nonsense to conflate these two issues. I don’t think it’s as clear cut as left and right anymore, not in the sense of how we used to think of left and right. I think the Globalists with their extreme ideologies (totalitarianism) are bankrolling ALL the horses in the race, which means the Globalist agenda always wins regardless of which horse appears to ‘win’. The horses, more and more, are simply there to give the illusion of democratic processes.

I haven’t a clue what was really going on this morning’s Glasgow to Bristol flight, but my last experience (2 years ago) of using Edinburgh airport was unpleasant. I found it quite intimidating, especially coming off the return flight from Europe.
I hadn’t flown anywhere in 20 years and was astonished at how much the process has changed. Facial recognition using biometrics and large screens to display your image.
It used to be that a discreet passport check (and a boarding pass) was all that was required to confirm your identity and your right to board the plane or step onto UK soil.

Gillian Martin confirmed the moratorium on SMR technology in Scotland. Labour are in favour and plan to make it an electoral issue. Real Engineering? Let’s hope so and not another GB Energy gimmick. A proper integrated Industrial Strategy for the Central Belt is an election winner. I think up to 120000 high value jobs are there if it is done right. Renewable and SMR technology are not mutually exclusive. It’s both we need!. Certainly from a Grid stability viewpoint and having an indigenous manufacturing base. Exciting debates coming up on this issue or more virtual signalling?. I haven’t seen a single Scottish Policy from Reform. So might have to revise my bet on the election outcomes. Who wins the Central Belt wins the Scottish Elections in 2026. SMR technology is embroynic but most people are probably not aware that Rolls Royce have around 40+ years experience at the Site Test Facility, at what used to be called HMS Vulcan, in the Highlands. So a nuclear reactor placed inside a submarine. Completely different situation, as an SMR is a modular standardised piece of kit but nuclear engineering nonetheless. It’s early enough to be in on the ground floor of the required supply chain. Hence it would be the manufacturers of the standardised components that we should really want as well. Control and Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical Engineers from Grangemouth. Manufacturing and Production Engineering at Dennis Falkirk. Welding skills from the Naval shipbuilding sites. We have the skills now. We could at least provide manufacturering and services to the other pre nuclear activated SMRs going everywhere else in the UK. I got conned with the GB Energy gimmick. How many jobs in Aberdeen? We also lost out on the Supply Chain for Wind Technology. This time? I await Scottish Labour Industrial Strategy for the Central Belt. It’s a chance for them to win the election because the SNP say No to everything.

The ‘UK’ (in its latest guise of English Labour) won’t give up on its never-ending quest to con Scotland. Not only has it stolen our oil and gas and now our renewables, it’s trying to force us to accept uneconomic, unwanted, unneeded and unsafe SMRs (Small Modular Reactors). Because FM Swinney refuses to allow any new nuclear plants in Scotland, English Labour’s Scottish satrap Anas Sarwar accused him of depriving Scotland of billions in investment and thousands of jobs. This is the same dude who couldn’t even save Grangemouth and its 500 jobs, after vowing he would.
I take great pleasure in exposing Sarwar and Starmer’s lies about nuclear power in general and SMRs in particular;
SMRs are “small” nuclear reactors that produce 300 megawatts of electrical power or less, are assembled in a centralised facility, and installed in modules on site. They differ from conventional nuclear plants, which are around 1,000 megawatts and are custom-built.
83 designs are under development around the world, but just two (in Russia and China) are operational. Both are performing at less than 30% capacity and have been plagued by cost escalations and time overruns. According to the World Nuclear Energy Status Report, these problems “make it even less likely that SMRs will become commercialised.”
So, England is trying to force onto Scotland plants that aren’t even commercially viable. It’s regurgitating the marketing hot air from a desperate industry that’s frantically funding pathetic careerists like Sarwar, Starmer and the Viceroy who are pushing this bilge.
SMRs aren’t cheaper – they’re more expensive
Like their larger cousins, SMRs make ZERO economic sense. In the US, a Utah SMR saw costs jump 53%, from $58/MWh in 2021 to $89/MWh in 2023, and that’s despite $4bn in government subsidies. The project was cancelled.
Costs aren’t driven by size but by the costs of producing a kilowatt-hour of electricity. So applying the principle of economies of scale, smaller reactors will produce more expensive electricity than larger ones.
Labour’s claim that SMRs will be cheaper than conventional reactors is therefore a lie.
SMRs are just as dangerous as large reactors;
Advocates claim that because SMRs produce heat at lower rates than large reactors, they’ll be easier to cool during an accident and not need electrically powered coolant pumps. But these so-called “passive emergency systems” won’t work during earthquakes, floods or wildfires and can make accidents worse by depleting the cooling water of boron, which is needed to keep the reactor safely shut down after an accident.
SMRs won’t reduce or solve the radioactive waste problem – they’ll make it worse;
Proponents claim SMRs will produce less radioactive waste than large reactors but a study published in the May 2022 edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) reached the opposite conclusion. SMRs generate 9x more neutron-activated steel and hence more radioactivity than conventional plants, so will have more neutron leakage. This increases the amount and toxicity of their waste streams which will be hugely expensive to safely manage. Further, the “spent nuclear fuel from SMRs will be discharged in greater volumes per unit energy extracted and can be far more complex than the spent fuel discharged from existing power plants.”

I’ve concluded that the WOS BTL posters who constantly call for colonisation and the destruction of independence for our fighting friends in the east do so for one main reason.
They cannot abide how puny and derisory their own efforts towards Scottish decolonisation and freedom look in comparison.
In the east, they give their lives for their cause. In Scotland, plenty of us bleat, greet and gurn because it has made heating bills a few pounds higher.
Real freedom fighters, such as the ones enduring the incoming shells, missiles and drones right now, wouldn’t see most of our home-grown so-called “freedom fighters” in their road.
Our so-called “freedom fighters” know this only too well. Of course, how could they not?
And Gowd, how it mortifies them. And how they wish for victory for the hegemonic, imperialist, colonising steamroller. Then once it’s all quiet they can safely return to their comfort zone, telling the world:
“Look at me, I’d be a freedom fighter too, honest, but it’s just nae possible, they’re all agin us and Ah’m powerless, so Ah am”.

I like debating with Unionists because it inevitable means our Independence arguments are not winning so we should improve our argument. What I find difficult to debate is the Absolutism of the SNP. A party destroyed within, by bad actors. See Stus latest post.

Being gender critical does not mean that you are a nazi and want to “murder all the trannies” It means for the majority that they hold an opinion that is based in reality not delusion.

Questioning net zero and its purpose and practicality doesn’t mean you want to destroy the planet, just means you are unsure whether it will work.
Wanting the government to be competent and pushing back when they are not, which is very often, doesn’t make you wrong as we are all paying for the errors in tax.
