Wings Over Scotland

Schrodinger’s Cybernat

Posted on November 26, 2020 by

We couldn’t help but chuckle yesterday when the £100K-a-year Westminster MP and obsessive Wings Over Scotland reader “Pension Pete” Wishart announced – in the space of six minutes – that this site was simultaneously an irrelevance that nobody listened to, but also somehow one of the greatest threats to independence.

It got a lot funnier today, though.

Because today was when someone emailed us to let us know that they’d had another Freedom Of Information response from the Scottish Government.

Now that IS amusing. Though it’s not as bleakly comical as the Scottish Government’s latest proclamation: “We’ve changed the law to specifically let you do something, BUT YOU MUST NOT DO THE THING WE’VE JUST TOLD YOU YOU CAN DO.”

And it’s arguably less funny than this:

Nor does it quite muster the crudely un-self-aware comedic irony of three SNP figures issuing a demand for “unity” by [checks notes] attacking anyone in their own party who disagrees with them as “nutters” and “zoomers” who need to “bolt”. Mmm, unifying.

And it’s definitely not as hilariously absurd as discovering that even while the Scottish Government can’t manage to spare a SINGLE member of staff to work on the case for independence during the COVID-19 crisis (or the four years before it), it’s nevertheless more than willing to put the entire machinery of government at the beck and call of the trans lobby while the pandemic is going on.

But these are dark times, and you’ve got to find laughs where you can.

Sturgeon and Murrell and the usual suspects within the party are on a pretty penny as well, why on earth would they want to jeopardise that by holding an indyref, that might see them fall out of government.

No for Sturgeon and Murrell its better to govern in a subdued Scotland, regardless of what the people want, than possibly be out of government in an independent Scotland.

Seems the gradualists are rattled? I’m encouraged at some recent developments like the folk signing up to the Common Weal principles. I’d certainly be prepared to support a Common Weal “indy fundamentalist” party – even if I do think Pat Kane’s a bit of a roaster!

Even if there isn’t the prospect of an actual split / new party, I’d like to see the new group set out its stall in opposition to the gradualists and current NEC. Of course the gradualists currently controlling the party may well treat the Common Weal grouping in the same way as the 79 Group…and we all know what happened to them, don’t we readers? 🙂

The SNP can give lessons on who is vulnerable in society when they get routine testing of carers for disabled people in nursing homes sorted out, apparently it won’t be fully rolled out till well into the new year. Despite students getting it imminently. And despite young learning disabled people being 30 times more likely to die from covid than non disabled people of their own age. It’s sickening.

Honestly, I can’t tell you how pissed off I am at these sanctimonious creeps in the SNP virtue signalling how inclusive and caring they are when the truth is they don’t give a crap about those who are genuinely vulnerable.

Another example is all the SNP political accounts who tweeted in favour of Trans Day of Rememberance last week but were silent yesterday for international day for the elimination of violence against Women. Despite well over a hundred women being violently murdered in the UK last year and NO trans folk. Someone should name and shame.

Remember, transgender (as opposed to genuine transsexual) isn’t a mental health condition, it’s a category on pornhub. Why do you think they all want to keep their tackle? Vulnerable my a*se.

The SNP have been overrun. Nicola and Team opened the gates and filled every position possible with wokerati footsoldiers soft (or even indifferent) on independence and loyal to Nicola above everything else. That is their key consistent characteristic for getting the job. This is why most of them are hilariously incompetent in everything they attempt, because none of them got the job for their competence.

So under these circumstances (being overrun) I think we have to do the equivalent of call in an air strike on our position.

By that I mean one election cycle at Holyrood and Westminster where we do not turn out. Even if half of us didn’t turn out it would be a heavy blow. If you really want to put the boot in, vote for the nearest competing candidate and make it a swing vote not a lost vote. There would be no SNP safe in the country at that point.

Doing this to any significant level should precipitate a leadership crisis and the departure of Nicola and her husband.

It will also mean new candidates can be selected (after the cull) to realign the party back to pre2014 values and goals.

Independence is delayed every day we don’t address the rot at the top. But they have done years of damage through the NEC and in many other ways. We need a clean out. One cylce is all we need.

Giving the SNP another cushy majority is going to do the opposite. It cements in the staus quo and it will be more of the same as the last 6 years and far worse. The proposed Hate Bill takes on more sinister tones the more we see how the SNP really operate behind closed doors.

These people should be no where near power, they should be in jail some of them.

Bit of a tall order before May methinks.

Another serious question… What is there to salvage from the SNP? At what point should we cut our losses and form a proper YES party?

We saw then who was in charge of the policy direction that has proved to be so divisive and ill thought out.

We saw as attempts were made to destroy AS how far the current SNP leadership will go with their agenda and we saw how far down the pecking order the pursuit of Independence was.

Without WoS it would have been difficult to shine a light on much of what has been going on. Campbell Gunn said initially most of the MSM dismissed a conspiracy against AS, now most believe it:

    Breeks,
If we can’t salvage anything from the SNP or there is nothing to salvage then we could really do with another party to contest more than the list seats.

There wouldn’t be any List Seats in a new Scottish Constitutional Legislature / Parliament.

The Parliament I envisage would be completely independent of Westminster and Holyrood, and it’s “prime directive” if you’ll forgive the Star Trek terminology would be the defence of Scotland’s Constitutional Sovereignty, and for starters, that would be about all.

Initially, it would have to be a Convention rather than a Parliament, but function as a precursor to there being a democratically elected Scottish Government after elections.

The Primary job of this legislature would be to formally dissolve the Union on Constitutional grounds, (Brexit breaching the Treaty of Union for example).

I would assume this would take the form of a petition to the UN to recognise the Articles of the International Treaty have been broken, the Treaty thus formally breached and at an end, and appeal for Scotland’s status as an independent sovereign nation to be recognised internationally.

It is my understanding that all of that could be achieved without any referendum, just by applying legal principles of the breached Union Treaty instead, but obviously, a speedy ratification plebiscite and freshly elected government would be prudent.

Now I’m just shooting from the hip here. What we really need is somebody with the right knowledge and expertise in how these affairs are best handled. That person I believe is Craig Murray, who has already talked about Constitutional Convention of sitting MP’s and MSP’s.

That’s the thing we need to go for, and go for it now.

If they are all so up in arms about the bloggers, they must be feeling the cold winds of scepticism blowing. I hope it becomes gale before 2021. I am so afraid that the SNP will use our votes to push through unpopular policies, but not take all the steps that need to be taken to lay the foundations for independence, and, more urgently, the means to achieve independence in light of Westminster’s intransigence over a S30 Order.

I asked Alyn Smith a question yesterday in The National: just what does the trans lobby spend its Scottish government funding on? It does not appear to spend a halfpenny on safe spaces for trans people while, simultaneously, demanding that women share their spaces (women’s funding goes on refuges, shelters, rape crisis centres, etc.) and these are run by women, often volunteers – except, of course, when a trans woman with flu tackle and with no qualifications or Gender Recognition Certificate gets in though the back door to run things so much better than any natal woman possibly could. When I say, share, I mean take over, because sharing is not a concept that the trans lobby recognizes, and it certainly recognizes no situation where sharing simply cannot be permitted, for any reason whatsoever.

I listened to a psychiatrist explain about two types of trans women: those who are born effiminate and are gay and who feel more comfortable as trans women (they are often the ones who support women’s campaigns to keep women’s spaces sex-based and free of trans women, and readily admit to being trans rather than natal women); and those, and there are various categories, of men who like to dress as women and fantasise about being women, but who are mainly heterosexual, but with little empathy for natal women because their condition means that they are narcissistic and self-absorbed

So-called ‘trans widows’ have described living with this type of man, and the mental destruction that comes with realizing that they are often indifferent to the harm they do their wives and children, and often just indifferent, full-stop. They have no room for others, just themselves and their condition, which becomes worse as time passes. That they need help and understanding is obvious, but it cannot be at the expense of natal women.

I cannot comprehend why, in those circumstances, the trans lobby does not see its first duty is to ensuring that these people’s problems are dealt with/alleviated with proper counselling and safe spaces. It beggars belief that these services have not already been created by the trans lobby for trans people, when women, with government funding and help, have been doing this for years, on a shoestring, as have gay groups, black groups and other vulnerable and marginalized groups. It is way beyond time that people were told just what the trans lobby itself does to help trans people – apart from afford them a sense of entitlement that goes beyond any rational understanding.

You’re trying to see sense where there is none. The essential characteristic of the identity movement is “I think, therefore I am”. The trans-women are not men who want to be women they are already women, they just look a little different. There’s no need for adjustment or support services. The facilities they are after already exist. The only problem for them is that they’re currently occupied by people who won’t cater to their every whim or bow down to their superiority. Sadly some male baggage will never be left behind. Once they’ve settled in, they will want you to be more like them. It’s not going to stop, no matter what accommodation you offer.

In Canada, they have already experienced dangerous behaviour from the latter group and from men pretending to be women to gain access to women’s shelters. The psychiatrist believes that the latter group – gynaephiliacs – could be dangerous because there exists a powerful tension between the male and the female identities. I cannot really comment on that because I am not qualified to do so, but it did give me food for thought. You have to ask the question: just how many women and/or girls hurt or killed would Shirley-Anne Somerville think was a big enough sacrifice to this madness? I don’t know if this is perhaps so obvious that it doesn’t need highlighting…

Last week we were discussing the Campbell Martin films, ‘The Only Game In Town’ (Parts 1 & 2), all about PPP/PFI shenanigans in North Ayrshire.

Both films are essential viewing and were featured in posts by Rev Stu here upon their release.

Right at the end of ‘Only Game In Town 2 – The Cover Up”, Campbell says:

“You might question, why would North Ayrshire Council, Police Scotland, the COPFS and the central govt civil service all collude in a cover-up about a project to build four schools? The answer to that question is simple – it isn’t just about four schools in North Ayrshire. If a proper and thorough investigation was carried out into what we have revealed about the North Ayshire Schools PPP , the outcome would inevitably lead to questions being asked about every other PFI/PPP contract in the UK…”

And he’s already shown where North Ayrshire residents’ dosh is going (£1 million A MONTH until 2038) – offshore tax avoidance as revealed in the Panama Papers.

But look at the main players he lists there – swap NAC for the Scottish Govt and it’s exactly the same nexus as the ‘forces’ stalling the harassment inquiry, right down to certain individuals (oh aye, and the lawyers too – Shepherd & Wedderburn, recently taken on by the SNP to shield Murrell from that annoying committee, also handled North Ayrshire’s PPP business ).

Can’t the current treatment of Salmond be viewed, quite reasonably, as a consequence of previous (long-standing) criminality? Those main players, all being told, ‘Get Salmond!’ under pain of exposure?

Since we are 8% of the population (round it to 10%) the expected English/UK number is easy to calculate. ( 9000 cases and 300 deaths)

Aye, and I hope my hair doesn’t keep going grey but it would be a bit bloody silly of me to say “my hair will stop going grey”. The Scots word for this is “sleekit”, there is also an Irish phrase, “a cute hoor”.

Quite noticeable that this bit of red meat is thrown out after all the arguments recently, particularly the commotion with Cosy Feet and Daddy Bear on social media yesterday. And also on a day when her performance re: covid is being criticised. AND perhaps on a day when several papers are leading with headlines about trans issues.

Precisely how moronic does she think we are?

Such a pitiful waste that it prefers to publicly belittle and degrade such a powerful potential asset to the Scottish independence (the fundamental objective) movement.

Tannadice/susan XX/Ian Brotherhood: thank you for your support. When I was just a teenager/young adult, I thought I knew it all, but, looking back, I now realize just how immature and arrogant I was. Luckily, no one ever put me in a position (and I suffer even now from a crippling shyness, anyway) where I could do harm with my daft notions. Not all young people are daft, of course, but most of us need to grow a bit and live a bit before we should get access to power.

When you look at many of the SNP hierarchy, they have known little else but politics, and most have been allowed access to power far too young. Apart from anything else, they are open to manipulation by older people around them who are even more ambitious and power-hungry. I look at the likes of the Chinese Revolution, and the teenage and young Red Guards, the Cambodian Khmer Rouge, most very young and out of control, at African regimes, where young thugs with guns rule the roost. Young people are very attracted to authoritarianism and there is a fatal attraction to wielding power over others, manipulated by older people who should know better.

Sometimes, I think the real problem is those who have been in situ in the SNP for many years and who simply do not want independence, or, more controversially, those who have been placed in the SNP from early on, to ensure it never does gain independence for Scotland. Long before the IRA went on the rampage in NI, it had been infiltrated by the British State, so we have to wonder whether the SNP has also been undermined from within since long before the 2014 referendum. Without sounding paranoid, it would explain a great deal. But, hey, what do I know?

I now agree with this too. At one time I felt confidence in SNP being in charge during independence negotiations, feeling they were not only competent and businesslike with details but to be trusted with the big design ideas of taking our country in a wise direction. Now I’m suspicious of a lot of what they say and dislike the direction in which they’re taking our country.

I agree with this post too. Incompetence has filtered through along with bad tactics and disreputable machinations and there has been no oversight worthy of the name except brave individuals, including those in positions within the party, ordinary folk more generally and this website. Nicola brooks no heresy and has promoted and supported inferior quality people who can’t even get a conspiracy done and dusted half competently. Highly appropriate if she is eventually brought down by something started by that coterie loyal only to her.

Nowadays thanks to T. Blair most young people go to uni, learn nonsense degrees that contain a lot of this woke rubbish, then graduate thinking they are members of an intellectual elite. Trouble is they graduate into a market where they can’t get a good job (this was a major problem for decades not just due to covid). How many young folk with degrees do you know making coffees or delivering pizzas, I know a few. So they are alienated as well, exacerbated by things like Brexit and a decade of austerity, or horrible, bigoted politicians like Trump and Johnson. It makes them susceptible to extreme, ideological solutions which they see as a way of transforming a corrupt society. All this woke stuff comes from over-educated youngsters who are angry (not without reason) at our society.

Put another way, if Cameron Archibald had been born fifty years earlier and got an apprenticeship out of school, with the hope of owning his own home, he wouldn’t be into this mental rubbish.

It only needs to be signed by one hundred of us and then the letter can be distributed to the UN, EU and all nations whose friendship and support we court. We could also add that we would be perfectly happy for a judicial review of our case to be held in an international court of law because we have nothing to fear – truth and right is on our side.

So here’s a look at “An Institutional Theory of Corporate Regulation”, which I think relevant to the corporate shenanigans we are witnessing from the current Scottish government. It focuses on “changing corporate behavior”. Subsequently, it most certainly applies to the right-wing and populist coupe we call Brexit.

Scottish Government responsibility for recording meetings is clear: to ensure all information of importance – of corporate value – is properly recorded. As I explained, there were different kinds of meetings taking place throughout the
Judicial Review process. As well as consultations with counsel and meetings within the Legal Directorate, there were informal coordination meetings which were predominately for the purposes of information sharing. This type of conversation does not form part of the corporate record and as such, no formal minutes were recorded.

Scotland’s party of independence is actually doing less than nothing to achieve it. Doing nothing would be fine.

They’re maliciously out to scupper our chances when you look at their position on the Keatings stuff. There are other examples too. You can assume they were behind getting Wings kicked off Twitter. You can assume the decision to attack AUOB came from the top too.

We see clearly how they are persecuting people like Craig Murray, how they blocked Joanna Cherry by changing long-standing party rules, and how they simply “disappeared” the Indy fund. None of these things are coincidence; they represent a calculated plan to destroy the independence movement. They’re out to close us down.

The most impactful thing they’re doing to destroy our chances is the lie itself, that they are for independence. All of those votes, all that energy, and all those donations – provided by ordinary men and women up and down the country – could be going to a real Independence Party. That’s the big crime.

More than that, though, they’re pissing all over the hopes and dreams of ordinary people, many of which are poor and simply wanting to create a country that’s worth getting out of bed for. That’s the part that stings most.

I have no explanation for what they’re doing. We’ve all wondered and guessed, heard the speculation of others, etc. I have no idea. But I do know they’re doing it. And I know as long as they keep doing it we are well and truly fucked as far as independence goes, probably forever.

If they win a majority in May they’ll intensify their efforts to destroy us. The data provided by Wings today might be funny on a certain level but it’s also dark and ominous. I hope there’s a contingency plan in place for this website – it’s a crucial hub that is bound to grow in importance over the next few months.

@ 100%YES at 8.17am: I’m coming to the conclusion that Nicola Sturgeon is a unionist collaborator. I did wonder for a while if she was just unbelievably incompetent, but surely even the most useless leader couldn’t manage adopt the most utterly irrelevant or counter-productive policy every time. Besides, I don’t believe she is stupid or incompetent. I think she knows exactly what she’s doing, and she’s lying to us about it. If she still has support from genuine independence-supporters in the SNP, it can only be because they find this as difficult to accept as we do.

Many other countries have held national elections and we have held by-elections.
If it’s all about protecting people and saving lives, then it is arguable that more harm will be inflicted on oor population the longer we have to remain under continuing London Rule, enduring the policies of a UK Government run by a party we have rejected since Rosa Parks sat on a seat in the “white part” of a bus.
Plus there’s the small matter of us being pulled out of the EU against oor expressed will which isn’t exactly helpful for a variety of reasons.

Two recent polls show 70% support for banning it completely. So they have to do something otherwise Comfy Feet Pete won’t have anything to do at the weekend.

Of course they take the smallest step possible that waves a carrot that something might be done to stop the rampant criminality that is essential to make the business economically viable.

The response is straight out of the referendum playbook – do as little as possible and make sure you ask the criminals what the best course of action is.

The government, at all levels, seems utterly paralyzed with indecision, inaction and ineptitude.

The pandemic actually gives them some kind of purpose and something concrete to focus on, though even here incompetence shines through, since they only seem capable of copying England. The vaccines will really throw a spanner in the works.

Who are you? And what have you done with the SNP?!

Faith in Independence is good. Faith in the SNP is not, and I say that with regret.

It looks like the only thing to open eyes in this situation is time. As time passes and she fails to deliver then more will move from her. Meanwhile all we can hope is that Boris dithers as usual to give us that time.

About a month ago I stated that there would be no great bombshell revelations at the Nicola Sturgeon Enquiry – prior to the SNP Conference – nothing that might threaten a coup.

I also said there would be numerous polls putting support for Indy well over 50% but shy of 60% (the SNP’s own benchmark).

In that way the rallying cry would be LOOK AT THE POLLS, LOOK AT THE POLLS.

    In between COVID, COVID, COVID.

    Hey ho.

I now predict the Contents of Nicola Sturgeons Big Conference Speech – lets call it Nicla Bingo Speech Card…. If you win, you get to buy yourself a chocolate biscuit of your choice – don’t say I’m not good to you…

    NICLA BINGO SPEACH CARD

(Players should tick off the subjects as they appear in Niclas Big Conference Speech (2021 version).

LET ME BE CLEAR – with regards Scotland democratic deficit. Valid stats can be used and trust is created by presenting uncontested facts with the audience. A sense of mutual injustice against Scotland is shared.

IN THESE UNPRESIDENTED TIMES / COVID – CHALLENGES WE ALL FACE – TOGETHER – allows for statesman like presentation, Leadership in times of crisis, Empathy in times of fear.

GOOD NEWS – LOOK AT THE POLLS, LOOK AT THE POLLS – allows for her to say current lack of action is working, a steady as she goes policy, don’t scare the horses.

UNITY – all voices of concern are BETRAYING INDY.

    LOOK AT THE POLLS

COVID – justifies all lack of action on Indy

    LOOK AT THE POLLS

I TRULY BELIEVE / WE’VE NEVER BEEN CLOSER / SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW – a smorgasbord assortment, plants seeds of hope, without the bother of an actionable plan ( and saves them having to look down the back of the sofa for a half million pounds thats Interwoven). Ensures that pursuing Indy is all about Faith and actual deeds and actions are not needed.

    LOOK AT THE POLLS

GOLD STANDARD / S30 / NO WAY LONDON CAN KEEP SAYING NO, NO WAY THE REST OF THE WORLD WILL PUT UP WITH THAT OUTRAGE – keeps the audience happy as it reflects the audiences’ values back to the audience – has absolutely no effect on the powers that be in London, or the rest of the world.

HOPE/ BELIEVE – SHOULD BE HELD / WOULD LIKE IT TO BE HELD – FIRST PART OF NEXT PARLIAMENT – REFERENDUM – a hint of action to placate the practical who are concerned, but no date set and the words, ‘hope’ and ‘should’ used widely as a get out clause.

BUILD A COUNTRY THAT’S FAIR TO EVERYONE – head off all criticism of GRA/Hate Crime Bill by waxing lyrical about genuine Equality issues.

GOLD STANDARD / S30 – GOOD – REFERENDUM, REFERENDUM, REFERENDUM.

BAD, BAD, BAD, PLEBISCITE ELECTIONS, UDI, UNLAWFUL, WILDCAT, CATALONIA…. keep all democratic eggs in the S30 basket.

IRRESPONSIBLE / SELFISH TO CAMPAIGN NOW – COVID COVID COVID – number one excused for doing nothing about Brexit and Indy.

LOOK AT THE POLLS – UNITY IS STRENGTH – STRENGTH IS UNITY.

    JUST ONE MORE MANDATE

THE DREAM SHALL NEVER DIE – she might actually have the brass neck to use this.

TIMES OF UNCERTAINTY – BREXIT – LOOK AT THE POLLS.

SO CLOSE, SO NEAR, DON’T ARGUE, LOOK AT THE POLLS, ONE MORE PUSH, ONE MORE MANDATE, KEEP THE FAITH, ALL DISSENT IS DISLOYALTY. ONCE MORE FOR NICLA – TRUST IN NICLA.

So there we have it. Have I missed anything? Still time to add it.

Oh, I know, unlike previous SNP Conference speeches by the leader – where the BBC always had ‘technical’ issues during recording, and ‘scheduling’ issues during reporting… I nearby predict, Nicla will give a barnstorming ‘hold, hold, hold’ type speech with just enough ‘somewhere over the rainbow’ in it and that the BBC will broadcast it – in full, and up front, Prime Time. Bet you another Choccie biscuit on it.

“ When it comes to problem solving, the SNP have abandoned all pretence it is a democratic process. As the nominations for office and the NEC closed, giving the leadership advance notice of who the main challengers would be (based on the number of nominations for each candidate)the rule book was being extended to provide more avenues for resisting moves by Party members to reclaim their Party. Another eleven pages of rules suddenly appeared as if from nowhere. “

Daisy, I don’t understand. There’s been a few bombshells and the rebellion is well underway.

Why do you think they’re panicking and talking about independence, grouse, etc? The only reason they haven’t collapsed and crumbled is down to corruption in the civil service and a largely compliant and corrupt MSM.

Actually, if we’re honest, we’d say the corruption has spread like a disease through the whole system. It’s always like that with corrupt governments though; the first thing they do is destroy enemies within their party, then they destroy party democracy itself so that nobody can touch them, then they corrupt all the institutions of government, then they start bullying society as whole and nobody can do a thing about it.

If we have one big thing going for us it’s that there’s hardly any power to abuse in Scotland. And most of the MSM is foreign owned which means they can only control and manipulate so much.

Getting back to the point though, there’s been a bunch of damning revelations recently. There’s been votes against them in parliament and Sturgeon has been caught lying/forgetting. More evidence has appeared pointing at a conspiracy and cover-up, and the only reason they’re all still there, as I said, is basically down to corruption and an abuse of the little power available to them.
