defence spending was worth a coefficient of 60% to the economy, on average
It would be interesting to know how the UK’s current defence spending of ~£45billion works out, coefficient wise, for the different nations of the UK.
i.e. What percentage of Scotland’s ~£4billion contribution finds its way back into the Scottish economy?

Rev’s viewing figures completely make a lie of this statement:

Not so much ‘truth always’ as nasty wee shite who stalks Robert Peffers’ every word so’s he can slag him off when the urge takes him. Eh?
Also, the ‘truth’ has ‘always’ been that many have commented thanking Mr Peffers (tae you) for his insight and dedication to Scotland’s self determination and for his wealth of knowledge about Scotland’s history. The same can never be said of yersel.

Yes, it’d be interesting. Not sure if an “impartial” analysis has been done, figures from both sides would differ wildly -:)
I did cheat slightly for easiness, the 60% relates to the total annual defence spend, but I used it just for capital expenditure. Since both carrier and F35 do get built in the UK, it seemed fair enough, maybe even an underestimate.

The BBC is working its bollocks of in the news where we are to undermine the good news about record Scottish employment and lowest unemployment in thirty years.
Managed to forget to mention at all that the figures were significantly better than England’s.
Okey-dokey, here’s my contribution(s) as probably 2 parts.
The importance of Robert Peffer’s postings part 1
————————————————
The history of the United Kindgom of Great Britain and its formation in 1707 (Ireland was not officially a part of the name back in 1707, not in fact until 1801), is that what was put together can be disassembled. It’s the way that it’s disassembled that is vital in terms of treaties, rights, debts – and assets, to the disassembled parts.
Back in 2012 and before, previous works had established that there were 3 ways – secession, separation or dissolution. And each had different consequences for each part. Scotland “leaving” the UK would be done in basic terms in 1 of these 3 ways.
The Crawford & Boyle paper in January 2013 was the very first of the infamous UK Gov white papers, and that highlights its importance to the rUK Gov. Basically they considered the 3 methods – which in itself gives each credibility – and dismissed 2 of them, leaving only secession as the route they maintained would be the actual way.
But secession leaves Scotland with nothing, just the shirts on our backs, and the CONTINUING UK (cUK) gets the lot.
Knowing the history of 1707, and the preceding events, gives Indy supporters means to challenge this one-sided view that the UK propaganda machine would want us, or at least the unknowing population of Scotland, to believe. According to them we are secessionists, and Scotland would leave the UK, leaving it intact and us going away with nothing. Kind of like that TV show with Anne thing, the Weakest Link, “You leave with nothing”. Well fuck that for a game of redcoated soldiers.

I would leave if I was in a position to
I don’t blame anyone in the slightest if they do
I mean democracy is the best system we have developed but it still assumes that 99 idiots make a better decision than one informed person
I have actually told my lot if Scotlands people are too stupid to get out this time round …..leave.
Even if it’s only to avoid being a “resource ” for Westminster.
They would, they have said “intend” to come back to an Indy Scotland, but life tends to get in the way so who knows?
Especially if it took too long or wasn’t peaceful..
I am no in a position to leave and would never stop trying to free Scotland .
But I know enough about where Westminster will take us,if we let them to forewarn my kids.
So if we ever get to walking in their shoes….. I am really no blood and soil, this is a great wee country aye! But I couldn’t eat a whole one.

The importance of Robert Peffer’s postings part 2
————————————————
This of course is the Sovereignty of the People of Scotland. We have it. From the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320, to the Claim of Right in 1689, through the Claim of RIght of the Consitutional Convention in 1989 – 300 years later. And very curiously and little known about, to the 2012 motion in Holyrood passionately put forward by one DFM Nicola Sturgeon of the SNP, the duly elected majority Government of Scotland.
Motion passed (from memory) with over 100 votes for (I forget if the TGories voted against – who cares). A slight amendment by I think Patricia Fergusson of Labour, and this needs to be checked, secured their vote and the LibDems.
Perhaps the 2012 motion is the most important and relevant of the lot, and the least discussed.
Basically anyway, it sets the stage that the People of Scotland are beholden to no government or monarch, it’s the other way around.
And add the context of Sturgeon saying that it’s up to the People of Scotland if we want another Referendum. Well, yes, it is. We are Sovereign.

I’m sorry, but I have to agree with you Liz, I’m going nowhere but as for family, especially the younger ones, I’ll show them what they are up against prepare them and then it’s up to them, their decision.
For some others, it won’t be their decision and that is what makes me ashamed and angry at the fact that we can not welcome whoever we want into our own country and I find it hard to look those in that predicament in the eye.

The BBC is working its bollocks of in the news where we are to undermine the good news about record Scottish employment and lowest unemployment in thirty years.
BBC r4 has been more than just nauseatingly repellent boosting and defending Orange Hitler. All of its no doubt to cover for Teresa and her merry band of scumbags, who were the first in the west to kiss Orange Hitler’s ring.
But BBC r4 is the torygraph on the UKOK radiowaves. They are such a hateful crew of tory propagandists though, really shitty bunch of tory creeps.
What’s been going in the US, since Orange Hitler got in,
Never seen “spunked” in an English tabloid before.
Susie Bonnieface likes JC but these hulks for the exporting of GB death to people in hot countries that cant fight back, actually in teamGB, are all Crash Gordo’s jizzing away of borrowed cash mountains.
“Then we’ve the case of our new £3bn aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth – bunting at the ready, please – which has sailed into Portsmouth and will be the scourge of the seas and terror of whoever we don’t like this week.
Except it’s a) three years late b) we couldn’t decide which planes to buy so they’re still in the box and c) its jets are currently on loan from and crewed by a squadron of US Marines. Our own jets and their crews won’t be fully operational until 2023.
Added to which, we spunked £64m on a new lick of paint for our old helicopter carrier and assault ship HMS Ocean so she could plug the gap and then thought “nah” and scrapped her early.
So what we’ve done is welcomed, with bunting, a £3bn – or £7bn, including planes – mobile landing strip for the US military which won’t actually be ours to use for another six years.
A very good question. The UKGov appears to want everyone in NI to become Irish in order to get a free pass at one of those. (And never mind the rest of us, we just have to knuckle down to England’s will).
Border problem solved in a jiffy.
“Justlikethat!” (as Tommy Cooper would say.)
But then, I invite you to imagine a long queue of NI Orangists (you know, the only people in NI who voted solidly for Leave) queuing patiently outside the Irish Embassy for their precious ticket to border freedom?
Could this be just the biggest sneakiest wheeze ever for finally solving the thorny problem of Irish Reunification? (And getting NI paws off the UK money tree.)
Oh, the stuff that dreams are made of…!

Sir if I may be so bold but arguing the point with coprolite is a waste of your valuable time, Sensei Peffers.”
Mind? Why would I mind, Smallaxe? I’m pleased that you did so. I had to change my ISP and the new one has a list of websites they prevent access to and, “Archive This”, is among them.
As were several other totally innocent political websites. I was unable to get out due to hospital appointments and my helper is employed for his brawn – not his brain. Plus the fact I struggle to decipher voices over phone lines.
I have, just this week, managed to get my new ISP to clear their restricted list so will, in future, archive things again.
BTW: Thank you for the inclusion of the term, “coprolite”. I had to look that one up and that is a rare occurrence. Always good to extend the vocabulary.

@Tinto Chiel says: 16 August, 2017 at 8:28 pm:
“Robert Peffers, if you’re well and about: could you outline the extent to which you think the Scottish people are sovereign?
For the avoidance of doubt.”
It is a tall order and a very complex matter to cover. It is, of course really a simple matter but the Westminster Establishment, as usual, complicate everything they want to hide from the people of Scotland. They leave it in plain view but surrounded it by so much gobbledegook that ormal folk cannot see the facts.
” … I keep hearing this annoying mosquito-like sound in my ears from time to time.”
You will be pleased to know that you are not suffering Tinnitus, Tinto Chiel. Everyone else is hearing that mosquito-like sound too.
Perhaps the best way to prove that the Scottish people are legally sovereign is to quote a couple of modern law examples which show that Scottish law still observes the sovereign rights of the people of Scotland.
The first one is the ancient Scottish people’s right to roam. There is no English style trespass law in Scotland because, as a sovereign people, the people and not the crown, own Scotland.
A landowner cannot prevent anyone from access to their, “Private”, land. Yet you will still find notices, “Trespassers will be prosecuted”, and even gamekeepers with guns turning people away.
There are restrictions on such as military bases, railways and so on but these are actually safety issues. There are also Scottish laws of personal privacy but these only apply in close proximity to dwellings. Prince Charles attempted to prevent the public from access to ancient rights of way across Balmoral Estate. He failed in court.
The only other thing a landowner can legally do is sue for damages to the property but this usually results in them winning the case that costs them thousands in legal fees and they only get token damages in pence.
Then there is the unauthorised clamping of vehicles on private land. It is legal in England for landowners to clamp or tow away parked vehicles but only the police or other authorised people can do so in Scotland.
Under the Scots law of, “coercion”, it is illegal to clamp or tow away a parked vehicle and demand a fee to release it back to the owner of the vehicle.
Coercion is equivalent to the English law of Blackmail and in Scotland, to demand payment with the threat of legal action is classed as coercion. The clamper or towing persons are the criminals and not the parked vehicle’s owners.
BTW: This coercion also applies to the BBC’s debt collectors who threaten people with legal action if they do not pay a TV Licence Fee. It also prevents them, “Investigating”, in the close proximity of private dwellings.
Which explains why Licence Fee prosecutions in Scotland are very few and far between while much more successful in the Kingdom of England’s three countries.
So there you go – The Sovereignty of the people of Scotland is in everyday use in Scotland.
Another phrase that is redundant in Scotland is, “The Queen’s Highway”, because the people, not the crown, own the highways of Scotland.
Yet I’d bet, when faced with a notice that declares, “Trespassers will be prosecuted”, or a Gamekeeper with a loaded shotgun, that your average Scot will turn and walk away and that Gamekeeper with the loaded gun will think he has the law on his side.
But, “They”, do not want you to know that.
You will also come across articles that attempt to cloud the issue by claiming there are two kinds of Sovereignty. Namely, “legal”, and, “political”.
Political sovereignty is a total myth but is practiced by the Westminster Establishment who claim that the United Kingdom Parliament has political sovereignty over Scottish law.
Such a concept has really never been tested in a legitimate court and the Westminster Supreme Court really needs to be challenged on that matter.

Thanks for posting the article in the Scotsman.
Telling, is it not that a Professor of Intellectual History should include the Union of the Crowns in his article but fail to articulate its non occurrence in law. As you know the proposal was rejected by both Scotland and England’s Parliaments. I doubt that the Treaty of Union would have been necessary, or indeed that the Treaty would have specifically outlined the Treaty as between the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England. Scotland is of course the senior of the 2 Kingdoms.
Such omissions have contributed greatly to the people of Scotland’s ignorance of the reality of their power, and which Westminster fears.

Media where we are in full Scotland is shite mode today:
“As teenagers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland begin to find out their A-level results, universities are reporting a fall in the number of places so far allocated.”
That is the real story but is reported by Radio Jockland with a headline of simply:-
“University Entries down on A-Level day.”
No mention that this news item applies to only the Kingdom of England countries and their A-Level students and their Universities.
Thus by implication they imply that it is a United Kingdom wide decrease in University applications.

Good morning, Golfnut, hopefully, the people of Scotland will not remain ignorant for much longer, more and more of us are seeing the truth daily on WoS.
Good morning, Famous15, we’ll hunt this John from Aberdeen down and enlighten him. 🙂
I have read some of the older posts about the Reinhard Heydrich quote.
But I believe the Anschluss between Germany and Austria in 1938 has also a great deal of
relevance to Scotland’s situation.
I can’t find the quote, but I am certain I read in some history book, that when Hitler visited the Austria capital Linz, after the Anschluss, he announced that Austria nolonger exists as an independent state and was now part of Germany proper.
Sufficient progress must be made on Ireland, EU citizens’ rights, and the divorce bill.
I don’t see much progress at all. Some simplistic wishful thinking from the UK and some grumbling noises from the EU.

The really telling thing is that Scottish history has been suppressed and some of what is actually taught in our schools is total myth.
I’d bet there are few Scots who do not know the false history of Bruce and the spider. There is absolutely no substance whatsoever in this myth. The story did not appear until a very long time after Bruce was dead. It is an invention, a fairy tale a myth, a fiction.
Yet a while back, here on wings, I posted a, far from extensive, list of the battles between the Kingdoms of Scotland and England during only the first Scottish wars of independence.
Just to emphasis how much of our history is suppressed, here are a couple of cite for historic battles:-
There must be pages missing from today’s Record and Express. Couldn’t find any mention of the hugely encouraging Scottish employment figures in either of them. I’ll have to hang about the supermarket paper rack a bit longer to see if any other paper has pages missing.

O/T. Last night on the 10.30 pm STV news. The East coast edition main article covered the new floating wind turbines, the West / Central Scotland edition covered a social health care issue.
The East coast edition covers developtments in N. Sea oil which are not broadcast to West coast viewers. Is this because STV think it’s West coast audience have no interest in oil or is it to keep the scale of Scotland’s oil hidden from folk in the West?
Whatever their reasoning the latter is the effect!

I hope nobody’s hurt. Thanks for the heads-up on STV online.
From the photos there it looks like the fruit market will be at least shut down for days, weeks, and maybe even destroyed. There’s a road goes halfway up, some warehouses one side, some the other, and one through the side nearest the M8, but if fire has spread through the roof, it could all be unsafe.
Offhand can’t think of any replacement, but somewhere will have to be found. It’ll be a real emergency.
It’s not just greengrocers go there, there’s fruit and veg firms that collect and distribute to small shops. And some small shops go weekly to get stuff, I know one who travels about 100 miles on a Wednesday, and others go there regularly.
At 3.45 the article says people starting shifts, but all places would be open at that time, I’ve been there 2 or 3 a.m. in the past. Deliveries come in all the time by big lorries, up to maybe 6.
The problem for a replacement will be cold storage.

Funny when unemployment figures in Scotland so good, just a brief mention on RS but added on ‘they have also fallen in England’. Does this mean that every time something in Scotland is good eg nhs figures they will tell us that England is worse? Disreporting Scotland indeed.

Blochairn is just a minute or two from the M8 in both directions. The only temporary replacement I could think of offhand is the Euro complex off the M8 near the cinema, that’s near the M74 as well, and a beautifully modernised and reopened Mway connection running around.
Maybe there’s some unoccupied warehouse space there could be commandeered, with a shuttle bus to get workers there.

@ Peter McCulloch et al – still tracking down the Heydrich quote. It pops up in many odd places e.g. a Czech Museum in Texas. But never a source.
The Czech writer Milan Kundera refers to the technique re the Soviet occupation:
“When a big power wants to deprive a small country of its national consciousness it uses the method of organized forgetting . This is what is currently happening in Bohemia. Contemporary Czech literature, insofar as it has any value at all, has not been printed for 12 years; 200 Czech writers have been proscribed, including the dead Franz Kafka; 145 Czech historians have been dismissed from their posts, history has been rewritten, monuments demolished. A nation which loses awareness of its past gradually loses its self. And so the political situation has brutally illuminated the ordinary metaphysical problem of forgetting that we face all the time, every day, without paying any attention. Politics unmasks the metaphysics of private life, private life unmasks the metaphysics of politics.” (1980) link to tinyurl.com
An odd forum called paradoxplaza (no idea what it’s about) has an interesting discussion. See the comment at 14.46 by Kurfurst:
“Right from the start, higher education in czech was forbidden to deprive czech nation of future elites.
Major czech companies were through a combination of arization (nationalization of non-german, primarily Jewish property), currency manipulation and forced buying of govenment bonds taken over by german capital.
Signs and public announcements in general were strictly bilingual, first in german, then in czech.
Volksdeutsche from Bukovina, Banat, Bessarabia or South Tirol were settled on land taken from Czechs, mostly in the areas to be germanized first, as denoted in the plan. Various creative schemes were utilized to take over that land, but the most common one was the expansion of military training grounds. Villages were designed to become military training ground, people were evacuated and in a couple of months, Germans from elsewhere were settled there.
Marriages between German nationals and germanizable Czechs were encouraged by interest-free loans and larger rations.”
If you have more time on your hands, there’s an article about nation states post WW2 and the rise of national liberation movements:
“During the postwar period (1945–73) more than 1.5 billion people have thrown off the colonial and semicolonial yoke, and more than 70 new nation-states have emerged. With the existence of two world systems and a new relationship of forces in the world arena, the peoples enslaved by imperialism have won independence by nonmilitary means (India, Sri Lanka, and most of the African countries), as well as by armed struggle (for example, Indonesia and Algeria).”
Many parallels to our own experience in Bonnie Scotland. If I ever find the origin of the Heydrich quote I’ll post it!

Robert Peffers says:
Just to emphasis how much of our history is suppressed
When it comes to the suppression of history, the Battle of Roslin 1303, is an interesting one.
Some sources put the level of the English losses to be on a par with Stirling Bridge or even Bannockburn.
So why has virtually no one heard of it?
A simple explanation may be that it was won by John Comyn Lord of Badenoch and Lochaber. He became Robert Bruce’s main rival and of course was murdered by Bruce in Greyfriars Church in Dumfries.
The obvious conclusion is the importance of the Battle of Roslin was suppressed by the winning Bruce faction even prior to the wider suppression of all things Scottish!

Good post and how appropriate for Scotland’s present and past situation.
We need to change people’s prospective on the UK and concentrate on our own history and culture otherwise we are lost.
“We will only get “peace always” with Scottish Independence”.
Is that independence with a UK Monetary Union (sharing the £)? (He who holds the purse strings holds the power).
Is that independence with membership of the EU and possibly Euro Monetary Union?
Or is it the independence I have repeatedly suggested and which the 2014 Indyref really offered: Parliamentary Sovereignty for Holyrood: Independence from Westminster Parliament. ( But YES called it full independence).
The SNP support membership of the EU. The whole indyref2 issue is linked to being taken out the EU against Scotland’s will.
The SNP are negotiating an EU leaving strategy with the UK Govt. They have offered to drop indyref2 if Scotland can remain in the Single Market.
So, the SNP have been attempting to negotiate away the manifesto pledge of EU membership or it triggers an indyref if the UK tries to take Scotland out.
This year the SNP have been attempting to negotiate away Scotland’s EU membership and the manifesto pledge to hold an indyref – IF the UK Govt will make Single Market concessions.
Indyref2 has been shelved till at least Autumn 2018. It’s not going to happen at all if the SNP get the concessions they seek.
The SNP don’t WANT an indyref. So, good for the SNP. I don’t want one either.
It’s a stupid idea.
Referendums without a free media are a stupid idea. Indyref’s Project Fear proved that. EURef’s Project Fear (The Leave campaign) proved that.
Referendums when the media, politicians and political campaigns can lie with impunity, are a waste of time.
It’s impossible for the general public to get enough unbiased information to make an informed decision.
Many people on here are as biased as the pro-WM people. Any true fact that does not suit their pro-SNP agenda is ignored or attacked – no different from many BritNats’ mentality.
For those who do care about making the best decision, not one based on loyalties to a political party, it’s nigh on impossible to decifer fact from fiction, fact from estimate, fact from prediction.
That’s why an independence vote should be decided by the professionals, the trained liars. Those who are the experts on spin and gloss, smoke and mirrors: the professional politicians.
Independence should be a decision made by our elected representatives.
Indyref is not greater democracy; it’s passing the buck.
“When it comes to the suppression of history, the Battle of Roslin 1303, is an interesting one.”
Good morning, galamcennalath, I live on the site of this battle;
The Battle of Sark:
“The Battle of Sark, The Battle of Sark occurred in 1448 and is the final pitched battle fought between Scotland and England during the period of the Hundred Years War, and also the last battle of the Medieval period between the two countries”
Trying to figure it out and place it in my mind, and I think that refrigerated row is at the back, so maybe the fruit and veg stands aren’t too affected. Hope so and the fruit market can re-open after the weekend. Those in the middle row wouldn’t be able to use the back entrances I’d think. Being optimistic. And the front row near Blochairn Road would be OK.
Anyway, nobody was hurt it seems, that’s the main thing. Good people, making an honest living.

Czechoslovakia and Hydrich. We all know about the German occupation and appeasement. The excuse was that large numbers of ethnic Germans should come under Third Riech rule.
But what happened to all those Germans in Czechoslovakia after the war? Simple. They were ethnically cleansed, many were murdered.
3million were forced out of Czechoslovakia. This was part of one of the biggest ethnic cleansing and migration events in human history. 15million ethnic Germans were moved, perhaps 2million were murdered.
Never was the phrase, ‘two wrongs don’t make a right’, more applicable.
Yet, most people have absolutely no idea what ‘peace’ in Europe actually brought!
A couple of them has got me through many an ailing day at work.

“When a big power wants to deprive a small country of its national consciousness it uses the method of organized forgetting .
That’s certainly gaining pace today, in contemporary Scotland. Look at The Graun for example. That crew of tory nuts only ever report their hols in Scotland, SNP, tory anything good, red and blue.
I’m from Aberdeen, and one of the clearest ways of depriving Scots of national consciousness was and is simply by English people moving to Aberdeen.
With all the foundations of English superiority laid by English media, led by the BBC, English cultural focuses like football, London everything, house prices, social climbing and status, upper middle class English accent, pushing down local Doric and Scots as inferior class based status, perpetually denigration/ignoring of Scottish national achievement, is all part of life in Aberdeen and has been since the 70’s.
One of the clearest examples of this kind of English centred socio economic domination of my gen was that everyone that could, left Aberdeen for London, straight out of uni and college. Guess what mindset stayed behind, hard core NO votes.
Clever stuff, UKOK wise.
Cases in point-
1. Aberdeen uni made BBC Scotland news top Scottish NHS monstering reporter, Eleanor Bradford, ?Head of Communications at University of Aberdeen. A very glaring yoon loyalty reward, for services to their UK rule by what should be the north east of Scotland’s primary focus for cultural and educational development. Ofcourse its not at all, its a unionist citadel, an middle and upper middle class enclave focused primarily on England. And that’s because its all run by yoons.
2. BBC Scotland in particular, is quietly erasing Andy Murray from the Scottish psyche today. Only in the Scotland region.
Anywhere else and Andy Murray would be a huge national hero. Beeb Scotland gimps in particular will ensure that Murray is mostly forgotten in a few years, in Scotland and ofcourse England.

MP Swinson under fire over ‘vanishing’ election costs
Exclusive by Tom Gordon
Scottish Political Editor
JO Swinson, the deputy UK leader of the Liberal Democrats, is facing “serious questions” over her election expenses after thousands of pounds were left off her official declaration.
The East Dunbartonshire MP claimed her spending scraped in £210 below the legal limit in the party’s top Scottish target – but only after almost £7000 of costs were disregarded.
Despite the seat’s importance to the LibDems, the former minister said £2700 of leaflets and other material bought by the party went undelivered and so didn’t count toward her total.

Sorry about this, like I say I know people there (suppliers).
Fire spread rapidly because of sandwich panels being used, according to the fire service spokesman. Sandwich panels:
—————–
Fire behavior
Sandwich panels have different fire behaviors, resistance and reaction, depending on: the foam, the metal thickness, the coating, etc. The user will need to choose between the different sandwich panel types, depending on the requirements.
Research by the Association of British Insurers and the Building Research Establishment in the UK highlighted that “sandwich panels do not start a fire on their own, and where these systems have been implicated in fire spread, the fire has often started in high risk areas such as cooking areas, subsequently spreading as a result of poor fire risk management, prevention and containment measures”.[10]
There is evidence that when sandwich panels are used to clad a building it can contribute to the rapid spread of fire up the outside of the building itself. As an architect put it, in choosing the core material for a sandwich panel “I only use the mineral wool ones because your gut tells you it is not right to wrap a building in plastic”.[11] In 2000 Gordon Cooke, a leading fire safety consultant, reported that “the use of plastic foam cored sandwich panels […] is difficult to justify when considering life safety”. He said the panels “can contribute to the severity and speed of fire development” and this has led to “massive fire losses”.[12]
Design of a cavity between the cladding and the exterior wall of the building (or its sheath of insulation) is also significant: flames can occupy the cavity and be drawn upwards by convection, elongating to create secondary fires, and do so “regardless of the materials used to line the cavities”.

I listened for a wee bit this morning to call whoever, on EBSs.
They had their callers lined up to support Trump and his proposed visit to the UK.
These callers were saying that the Uk needs America, so should be helpful to Trump and we should not interfere as he IS the president of America. One castigated Nicola’s comments saying we should not be surprised at her comments as she wants any deal with America to fail.
Maybe a little truth in that, many will feel the same though. However she was not wrong either.
Trump is not simply the American president, all Presidents are looked on as the leaders of the free world.
Well, that would mean that he has more responsibility than being President, he has to think a bit before he steps in with two feet as he is meant to speak for Western democracy in many ways.
However statesmanship deludes him. He does not take a breath and consider the consequences of what he says, and corrects only in hindsight. That is not good enough, because whatever happens after he opens his mouth his point is already taken.
In this case, he appeared to support the white supremacists, and that will lead to racial trouble, and how can he not expect that. He is playing into the hands of the most extremist people in America. It also reflects badly on the Western World as he IS now the supposed leader.
So Nicola was right to make her valid points, and as I would say myself “Not in my name!” We do not need him here.

OT – fruit market
Seems to me the early report of “refrigerated meat area” was wrong, the pictures show one main fruit and veg hall, maybe 8 stalls in the centre out of sight, and when they say fridge, it’s likely I think it’s a chiller, not a fridge, as that would be at the other side they’re showing the pictures from.
But apparently two-thirds are OK, though whether the fire spread across the other side of the hall, or to the other building I can’t tell. One of my previous and alternative suppliers though, looks wiped out, and one in the other side of the hall. Hard to get bearings to be honest, it’s often dark when I’m there, and there’s fork-lifts all over the place.

Watched the film Anthropoid yesterday and reading a bit more about it today. Was interesting to find out that the two assassins of Nazi Reinhard Heydrich were both trained at Arisaig, West of Fort William for the Special Operations Executive.
The Czech and Slovak SOE War Memorial was unveiled in the village in 2009 to commemorate those that trained and those that died in the war. Jan Kubis and Jozef Gabcik are among the names recorded on the memorial. The money was raised through public donations. Pictures of the memorial can be found here:
I stuck to facts: The SNP manifesto of 2016. And their current negotiating position with the UK Govt.
You are right, in that the UK Govt have so far rebuffed the SNP’s negotiations.
To be positive, those who support indy should be glad the UK Govt are so arrogant they rejected an SNP compromise deal.
That keeps indy on the table. As the SNP were willing to compromise on the indyref manifesto mandate. They should backtrack on indyref altogether.
I give credit to the SNP, if they think indyref is a mistake and are trying to dig themselves out of that hole. I’m praising them for that, this time.
That creates the opportunity:
Put full parliamentary sovereignty in a manifesto and say the SNP win and if UK Govt rejects that. It’s mandated that those politicians declare Holyrood sovereign without WM approval. WM either accepts that compromise or the Union is dissolved.
But the SNP give that option of equal status cooperation on Holyrood’s terms with WM so those who don’t want full indy can vote for the SNP too.
As, I’ve explained ad nauseum, a sovereign Holyrood within a UK, would be the end of the current Union by the back door. It would prevent WM domination to a large extent and still give NO voters the chance of offering continued partnership as equals within a union- a union of equal parliaments would be more a confederation, if you want to label it. Not devolution govt.
A sovereign parliament would be able to decide on having a referendum, as it would be the sovereign Scottish Parliament that would decide the timing and wording of any indyref, as it would not need WM permission, if it were sovereign.
Better still:
Let the MPs or MSPs decide on independence as representing those who elected them. If we vote a majority of indy politicians they are mandated to vote for indy. But they do that when they consider it most expedient for Scotland. So, the UK Govt does not set any agenda. Only the people and politicians of Scotland then decide that.
If the UK Govt continue to refuse to abide by the current devolution settlement: what’s devolved stays devolved ( EU powers). The SNP should refuse to stand for devolution govt altogether.
They should only offer Holyrood is sovereign as their policy. In all other circumstances they should oppose devolution. So there will be no more devolved Scottish Govts run by the SNP, only Sovereign Scottish Govts run by the SNP or not at all.
Then Scotland’s people decide whether that’s sovereign within a union
(whether as a UK Union or EU union) or as independent.
That’s what a real Scottish Parliament should be for. Scotland’s parliament should be making decisions for Scotland based on the electoral mandate of the people.

That’s what the UK Govt want people to believe. But it’s simply not true.
Nobody voted FOR WM domination. It was never an option on the ballot paper. That’s a fact.
We have the power of self-determination as a sovereign people.

@ Alex Clark – it’s a small world in the SOE.
Still haven’t tracked down the actual quote but feel it does exist somewhere, perhaps in a memo or speech. There are numerous references online. Probably Callum MacDonald would have been able to tell us had he not died so young.
Will persevere, though access to some proper research facilities would probably be an advantage!

O.T. The. Recent removal of the confederate generals statues. Because they fought to retain slaver and the north fought to remove it is a myth the south had free labour and the north did not like it so under the guise of freeing the slaves they went to war it’s like today in brexit big business say they are concerned about the eu workers here being able to stay on but all they are concerned about really is being able to keep paying low wages for as long as possible. There is over 3million eu workers here taking our jobs and putlng pressure on our hospitals doctors surgeries schools and housing we are the ones who pay for this not big business they only pay the low wages

We have the power of self-determination as a sovereign people.
That’s right Co. We have the right as sovereign people to hold referendums, like in 2014, where the majority voted to stay under the control and government of Westminster. The people of Yorkshire or Wales even might like the same sovereign nation status, in the UK, but they dont.
So now we Scots are out of the EU, we have lost our hard earned and hard earning EU citizenship because we used our status as a sovereign people, to retain the UK and be governed just like any other English region.
And may god have mercy on our sovereign souls.
Its that simple Colin A.
Wish you’d come up with something SNP bad original though.
But sadly so many think it will be OK, somebody else will still come along to save them, then they won’t need to do anything. But it won’t be like that with Brexit. Outside of Independence there is no alternative.

@heedtracker says: 17 August, 2017 at 12:10 pm:
“I’m from Aberdeen, and one of the clearest ways of depriving Scots of national consciousness was and is simply by English people moving to Aberdeen.”
There really is nothing new in that, heedtracker.
I’m originally from rural Midlothian, a short spell in Hants but then to Edinburgh before ending in Fife.
I was thus mainly educated, during WWII in Edinburgh. It seemed to be an Edinburgh City Council policy to employ mainly Oxbridge Educated teachers who were mainly Scottish born. However, it was wartime and these teachers were thus rejected as service personnel on the grounds of either age or disability.
I had been brought up by well educated grandparents, who spoke the Lallans, while both parents were away fighting a war. This Scots language is not, as many have been led to believe, a synthetic language invented by Chris Grieve and his contemporary Makkars.
And I quote this, as just such an example:-
Christopher Murray Grieve (11 August 1892 – 9 September 1978), known by his pen name Hugh MacDiarmid, was a Scottish poet, journalist, essayist and political figure. He is best known for his works written in ‘synthetic Scots’, a literary version of the Scots language that MacDiarmid himself developed.
Chris did nothing of the sort. He did no more than the English national bard, William Shakespeare, had done for written English some centuries before. That is he, the English Bard, produced a standardised English from the many English dialects in use in his time.
You must remember that the Scots languages had been forcibly suppressed for a very long time to the extent it had become only a spoken language of the masses. Thus Scottish literature had then been almost wiped out.
Suffice to say that as a wee laddie, just learning to read, I found it a lot less difficult to read such as Robert Louis Stevenson’s Scots dialogue than I did dialogue in written English.
Anyway, to get back to how things went after we moved into Edinburgh.
My English Language Teacher was infamous as the most proficient wielder of the Lochgelly Tawse in the entire school. He would hardly ever have that instrument of torture out of his hand and if it was out of his hand it was replaced by the Blackboard Duster, (a heave chunk of wooden handle with a sort of felt pad on the underside), or the Blackboard Ruler, another heavy chunk of wood, or the Blackboard Pointer, yet again a heavy lump of wood.
He was also renowned as a dead shot who never missed his intended target and he was well over six foot tall and built like the proverbial brick built outhouse.
On the particular day I write about, Mr McLachlan was yet again punishing me for the use of my native language in class.
Now to be fair to Mr McLachlan I was, and still am, described as being, “Muckle Conter”.(Quite Contrary). The punishment did not bother me one bit and although almost always top in English, and always in the top three, I would deliberately use a Scots expression to get up any teacher’s nose. Even then I was defending my inalienable right to my Scottish nationalism.
Anyway, when asked by McLachlan a question that required the simple answer, “Yes Sir”, I replied, “Aye! Sir”, and without being asked got up from my desk and approached the teacher’s desk with my hand out to be Lochgellied.
McLachlan, became rather red in the face and exploded, administered six of the best, (unwritten limit of tawse lashes), then he spluttered, “You do not say Aye. It is Scottish slang. It is not a word in the English Language.
At which point I stood to attention, saluted, as if in the armed forces, and replied,”Aye! Aye! Sir. You are, after all the Dominie and I merely the collegianer”. (“Teacher”, and, “Student”, respectively in the Scots language).
I don’t think the poor man ever really recovered from the experience.

Colin A ofcourse wants everyone to stop voting SNP because they are bad.
But if Colin A does get his wish and let’s face it, unless Scotland does regain nation statehood very soon, he really will get his wish, Scotland will instantly revert back to being a mere region of the UK, just like before 97.
Scotland will once again be run by a SLabour or Cons crew, whose sole purpose in this life will be to please their masters in Westminster, all of them aiming to become lords and ladies, Sir and Dames. Just like the last time they were Scottish gov.
And all of it wildly cheered by their gimps in Pacific Quay.
We will ofcourse still be a sovereign Scottish people, except that under Slab or Cons rule in Holyrood, it will once again, mean absolutely nothing.

When I started reading Wings one of the things that brought me back was your posts on the history of Scotland.
When I was younger I did 2 years at the local comprehensive and then went on the high school. At the comp. one of the things that put me right off history was the teacher, a Mr Harvey if I remember correctly. He kept his ‘belt’ on his shoulder, under his robe. He would prowl up and down between the aisles of desks. Then suddenly, without warning, from behind you, he would bring the belt down on your desk with a loud crack. Pity help you if you were reaching for your pencil case at the time!
Needless to say I learned not a jot and did geography from then on at high school.
Thank you.

Aamer Anwar tweets of car ploughing into crowd in Barcelona.
Aye! Smallaxe, the more they try to change things the more it becomes apparent that they are incapable of change.
Now what was it the term, “conservative”, means again. I may have forgotten?
I give you:-
TOMMY by Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936).
———————————–=
I went into a public-‘ouse to get a pint o’ beer,
The publican ‘e up an’ sez, “We serve no red-coats here.”
The girls be’ind the bar they laughed an’ giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an’ to myself sez I:
O it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Tommy, go away”;
But it’s “Thank you, Mister Atkins”, when the band begins to play,
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it’s “Thank you, Mister Atkins”, when the band begins to play.
I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but ‘adn’t none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-‘alls,
But when it comes to fightin’, Lord! they’ll shove me in the stalls!
For it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Tommy, wait outside”;
But it’s “Special train for Atkins” when the trooper’s on the tide,
The troopship’s on the tide, my boys, the troopship’s on the tide,
O it’s “Special train for Atkins” when the trooper’s on the tide.
Yes, makin’ mock o’ uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an’ they’re starvation cheap;
An’ hustlin’ drunken soldiers when they’re goin’ large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin’ in full kit.
Then it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Tommy, ‘ow’s yer soul?”
But it’s “Thin red line of ‘eroes” when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it’s “Thin red line of ‘eroes” when the drums begin to roll.
We aren’t no thin red ‘eroes, nor we aren’t no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An’ if sometimes our conduck isn’t all your fancy paints,
Why, single men in barricks don’t grow into plaster saints;
While it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Tommy, fall be’ind”,
But it’s “Please to walk in front, sir”, when there’s trouble in the wind,
There’s trouble in the wind, my boys, there’s trouble in the wind,
O it’s “Please to walk in front, sir”, when there’s trouble in the wind.
You talk o’ better food for us, an’ schools, an’ fires, an’ all:
We’ll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don’t mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow’s Uniform is not the soldier-man’s disgrace.
For it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Chuck him out, the brute!”
But it’s “Saviour of ‘is country” when the guns begin to shoot;
An’ it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ anything you please;
An’ Tommy ain’t a bloomin’ fool — you bet that Tommy sees!
hope this gets through being hit with a lot of ‘you’ve already posted this’.

“When I was younger I did 2 years at the local comprehensive and then went on the high school.”
I know that many people who attended school before physical punishment was abolished felt exactly as you felt. As I pointed out in my post today I was a right hardy wee lad. (I’m only 5’4″ fully grown”). I was premature and only just 3Lb at birth. In those days few kids of that weight survived.
I not only survived but was a born fighter. No one has managed to bully me and I absolutely hate any kind of bully. I wouldn’t allow any bullying of anyone, anywhere near me and have fought for the underdog all my life.
Fortunately I was born on a farm and in those days you worked as soon as you could walk if you were farming folk. You became strong and hardy at a very early age. So the physical punishment in the schools back then was of no consequence.
Then there was the fact that I was blessed to have been taught by two of the most natural and dedicated teachers I have ever met. A Brother and sister from a long line of teachers. I had the brother as my primary class teacher and when I arrived at secondary my history teacher was his sister.
I never saw either of them ever need to produce a Lochgelly and in both cases they were born teachers and could hold the large classes of those days enthralled and enthusiastic at the lessons in hand. At secondary the history class was something to look forward to and was not a dry catalogue of meaningless date timelines to learn by rote.
History was made to live and be exciting – such teachers are indeed born and not the products of a teacher college. I believe they just loved their subjects and that love of subject got passed onto their pupils. You learned because you wanted to know not because you were punisher if you didn’t know.

I still have not and will never read the Express but my manager assures me that the print version of today’s Express, page 2, contains an article by one David Scott which is 98% positive about employment/unemployment in Scotland. Headlined “Good news on Scottish jobs”. When she who must be obeyed told me she was as startled as I was but she has read the article to me and she was right (again). I don’t read the Express and I certainly don’t trust it.Hope all is well with and yours.

On page 2 of today’s Daily Express there an article by David Scott about Scottish employment/unemployment figures which is 98% positive. My wife gets the Express daily as it has more news about England in it than any of the others and she is from Birmingham. Even the rare butterflies are moving tae Scotland! Mair and mair of them are upping sticks…how blessed are we!
‘Scotland has a new species of butterfly: the elusive and endangered white-letter hairstreak has been discovered in a field in Berwickshire, 100 metres from the English border.
It is the first time since 1884 that the butterfly has been sighted in Scotland, raising hopes that climate change has helped it become the 34th butterfly species to live and breed in the country.
“Climate change is a double-edged sword but it’s an exciting time to be in the Scottish borders,” said Paul Kirkland of Butterfly Conservation Scotland. “It’s not just butterflies but moths and dragonflies are moving north quite quickly.”
More than a quarter of Britain’s 59 butterfly species are spreading north, with insects such as the comma moving about six miles each year. In recent years, butterflies that were once only found in southern Britain have crossed the border in Scotland, including the comma and the small and Essex skippers. Within Scotland, species such as the ringlet, orange tip and peacock have moved rapidly north and into the Highlands.’
Andrew o’Hagan’s speech. Long item but wonderful. Just the tonic for all the gloom spread by Yoon-dom. Don’t think it is here already. Quite a trek through the whole thread. Apologies if it is.
K1, P&J headline: “Scotland swamped by immigrants”.
The wee nuthatch bird used to stop round about the Kielder forest, but in the past ten years or so has gradually migrated north. Had a mother and chick in my garden about five years ago.
A lovely wee bird, now in Perthshire, I believe. The only British bird to go down a tree trunk, head first.

Except it’s a) three years late b) we couldn’t decide which planes to buy so they’re still in the box and c) its jets are currently on loan from and crewed by a squadron of US Marines. Our own jets and their crews won’t be fully operational until 2023.

Greetings from Raleigh, North Carolina, with a special big Hello and Thanks to US Customs for being very gentle with the package in which my fundraising perk came today.
Always good to extend the vocabulary.
;-))
Robert Peffers;
I’m glad to have been of help, sir, I hope you have a good day.
@ Smallaxe and Robert Peffers
For those of you wondering, coprolite is fossilised poo. I first came across this some 25 years ago at ‘Treasures of the Earth’ in Fort William.
Strange how we’re still having to deal with it today – lots of it in WM.
Liz Rannoch,
Good morning, Liz, yes that is exactly what coprolite is and we dealt with some very quickly last night. We are the late night shifters of coprolite.
🙂 Have a lovely day Liz, the sun is shining down here in the south of Scotland
@Tinto Chiel says: 16 August, 2017 at 8:28 pm:
Smallaxe at 8.13
Or “tough shit” as it sometimes described.
Sorry

Thank you and well done! What a team!
Sun was out here in Dunfermline but looks like it’s going to pour any minute.

Liz, you will be ashamed of me as I have just finished ironing ten shirts – however , I took your advise about my own wardrobe so should you see a crumpled wummin’ at the next rally , it will most likely be me.
Love the definition by Dave of ‘tough shit’ for coprolite – a properly posh word introduced by Smallaxe.
What an enlightening bunch Wingers are!
Dave McEwan Hill,:-)
Liz Rannoch. Thank you.
Tinto Chiel,” … I keep hearing this annoying mosquito-like sound in my ears from time to time.”
As Mr. Peffers says,”Everyone else is hearing that mosquito-like sound too.”
It’s just the sound of coprolite drying up and rolling away.
No worries! 🙂
Liz Rannoch, Smallaxe and Robert Peffers, thank you for that !

@ Smallaxe and Robert Peffers.
On GMS. Now does anyone know the Trump supporter, John from Aberdeen? He is always on GMS. He sounds like a very right wing Tory?
Who is he. We should be told.

Talking of rallies, there’s actually going to be one here, in Dunfermline, a week on Saturday. Can’t actually believe it, nothing like that normally happens here. I did mention it a couple of weeks or so ago. Now it appears that buses from Dundee, Edinburgh and Ardrossan (?) have been requested. Please see:

Seems that ‘trouble’ JC is going to be in Kirkcaldy on the same day, hmmm? Any Wingers from the area going?
Earlier on clamping, the crime that stops landowners in Scotland is called”extortion” ot coercion
Media where we are in full Scotland is shite mode today:
That is the real story but is reported by Radio Jockland with a headline of simply:-
“University Entries down on A-Level day.”
No mention that this news item applies to only the Kingdom of England countries and their A-Level students and their Universities.
Thus by implication they imply that it is a United Kingdom wide decrease in University applications.

“Telling, is it not that a Professor of Intellectual History should include the Union of the Crowns in his article but fail to articulate its non occurrence in law.”

I see RD says ‘for shame’ at Trump and nazi salutes etc funny I don’t remember her ‘shame’ at the nazi salutes in George Sq in 2014.
The last picture doesn’t look too bad mind, let’s hope it can re-open soon once the rest is made safe.

Could I emphasise that my only interest in “John from Aberdeen” is the frequency of his appearance on GMS and my suspicion that he is aTory Apparatchic in which case we should be told. The fact that I persomally find his opinions loathesome is not in issue. FOI is possibly an option.
We will only get “peace always” with Scottish Independence and I feel it is not far off given the frantic bile and frothing at the mouth of the inglorious Tories of all colour.

Only thing about all the braw stuff here, is that it’s all just off the main route that the rally will follow!
@ Clydebuilt – ‘Salmond’s joke was carp’… see further upthread…. Salmonds joke was coprolite.
@Ghillie
@Smallaxe
Good morning and thanks for your links.
Blochairn – an “explosion” then fire. Stands themselves are unlikely, but there is a candle / oils I think shop, plus the toilet and shower block which would have a boiler, and maybe mains gas but maybe butane / propane.
Plus a bacon roll shop / cafe on the corner (as well as the one near the road which doesn’t seem to have been affected).
Clyde 1 news (very short item) says “parts” destroyed, so that at least is promising for the rest.

Politics unmasks the metaphysics of private life, private life unmasks the metaphysics of politics.” (1980)
link to tinyurl.com
Marriages between German nationals and germanizable Czechs were encouraged by interest-free loans and larger rations.”
link to tinyurl.com
If you have more time on your hands, there’s an article about nation states post WW2 and the rise of national liberation movements:
“During the postwar period (1945–73) more than 1.5 billion people have thrown off the colonial and semicolonial yoke, and more than 70 new nation-states have emerged. With the existence of two world systems and a new relationship of forces in the world arena, the peoples enslaved by imperialism have won independence by nonmilitary means (India, Sri Lanka, and most of the African countries), as well as by armed struggle (for example, Indonesia and Algeria).”

Robert Peffers says:

It’s awright, ahv goat it…

Anyway I’ll shut up now.
Legerwood
Even as I read the O’Hagen talk I knew there would be some Unionist running to try to knock it down, and there it was, Torrance in the anti-Indy, anti-SNP Guardian. Now no one is listening to him here he tries an English paper.
But as sure as I keow it would come, I knew they wouldn’t try to put a better vision but go for attacking what O’Hagen said. It’s all the Unionists have now.
Of course the Guardian won’t publish the talk, it would be too embarrassing for the Guardian and Torrance.

@Heedtracker
Is it just me @Peter McCulloch says at 1:37 pm or do you also think Jezza C is trying to pull the wool over the Youth Votes eyes in a Tony Bliar ‘Cool Britannia’ style?

And I quote this, as just such an example:-
Chris did nothing of the sort.

Colin A knows that too.

“Roberts specific post I was referring to is ideal material for getting people to stop and think. Maybe a series of Did You Know?
With RP’s permission of course?”
Och! Aikenheed, you do not need permission to post anything I comment. It is all mainly just the actual truth and certainly not copyright.

Arrrgh!
Went to post the link to Reuters and the post vanished into the ether. Here is the link:-
link to uk.reuters.com
There are, of course many more news agencies than Reuters but really you only need one as they all carry up-to-the-minute news as it breaks. What is more they constantly update and correct errors.
It went very quiet for a while, was there a problem?

Thank you.

Aye! Smallaxe, the more they try to change things the more it becomes apparent that they are incapable of change.
Now what was it the term, “conservative”, means again. I may have forgotten?

Smallaxe at 1107.
How dreadful about Barcelona, reporting 2 dead. 🙁
It would have been heaving with people.
BBC were using footage credited to Aamer Anwar.
I was on the train returning from seeing Salmond Unleashed, great show, and a gorgeous warm day in Edinburgh. Folk started talking about what they could read on their phones.
Media now saying 3 people dead.

Smallaxe at 1107. Sorry about delay in replying – have been out all day. On page 2 of today’s Daily Express there an article by David Scott about Scottish employment/unemployment figures which is 98% positive. My wife gets the Express daily as it has more news about England in it than any of the others and she is from Birmingham. She is, however, totally for Scottish independence and can read between the lines of the unionist rag. She was as surprised by the positive article as I was when she read it to me.
Dave McEwan Hill at 1142 – thanks for response.
Good luck and health to all!
Oops – sorry all about the repetition!
@ Liz g, thanks for your kind wishes. I too hope it’s good news when we hear from LA.
What a terrible incident in Barcelona, just awful.
See you later boys & girls, the family are treating me to dinner so we’re away oot for a while.
Bill McLean;
Your wife (SHMBO) must be similar to my own good lady, after years of searching for Mrs.Right I finally found Mrs.Always Right. 🙂
Thank you, for the information, I’m surprised that it was printed in the EX-Press.
All are well here, Bill. I hope your family is well also, my friend.
Liz g, re Stu.
I think it is pretty serious, life changing – he retweeted a poem on his twitter!
Smallaxe – thanks for response. Really laughed at your Mrs Always Right. Aren’t we lucky to have them – always right or not. Have to say I was very surprised at the Express coverage – unfortunately I don’t expect it to last! Thanks again – isn’t this a great blog and some terrific contributors and contributions.

The Scottish Sun is running a story about the David Davis aide who’s involved with a long Twitter spat against his former boss.
It seems he is alleging the UK Govt has papers which show Scotland and the North of England would be worst affected by Brexit, but this information is being suppressed.

Finally bought a copy of Alex Salmond’s ‘The Dream Shall Never Die’ well worth a read. Gives you an insight to what was really going on up to the indyref vote. (might also help some of us when our next opportunity comes along)
Well worth the read if you have a few bob to spare.

Mebbes an “ex-pat”, of course 😉 .

Naw! We are only on every second post because YOU and others are NOT on every third post, fourth post ad infinitem.
It is an open forum and if you stick your comments in between ours we won’t be on every second post. It also helps if you are NOT complaining about something all the time.
