The Great Ribbon Terror

Posted on March 09, 2021 by

When we suggested yesterday that the SNP was turning into New Labour, we didn’t expect them to go to quite so much trouble to provide us with a timely illustration.

In happier times, almost seven years ago, a united and focused Yes movement had a bit of fun at the expense of Labour MP Ian Murray when he had a huge pearl-clutching fainting fit over someone putting a couple of stickers on his constituency office.

Record-scratch and jump-cut to the 2021 SNP.

There was of course an immediate outpouring of anguished concern over their terrible traumas (from people who don’t give a monkey’s when rape and murder threats are sent to Joanna Cherry or JK Rowling), with many expressing the hope that the police would catch and punish the foul culprits.

So we apologise in advance to any readers who are triggered by the following images of the dreadful and contemptible attacks.

Let’s all just take a moment to recover from the shock.

By our count that’s five tiny stickers, two cards tied with ribbons (one with the image below on it and one with the words “Feminism is the radical idea that women’s safety is more important than men’s feelings”), and a wee bit of slate with “Violating women’s rights is not a human right” written neatly on it in chalk, spread across two locations.

Dear God, the horror.

Apparently that’s now enough to “inspire fear” in women who work for politicians (and both made a point of their staff being female, because we all know women are more easily terrorised by small pieces of coloured paper than men, whose vision is based on movement), and seemingly widely considered a criminal matter by SNP activists.

“Vandalism”, incidentally, requires things to be destroyed or damaged.

Neither untying a ribbon or removing a piece of slate causes damage, and it’s clear from the second pic that even the stickers were easy-peel ones that leave no residue.

Kirsty Blackman says it’s “not a problem” if you disagree with her. But what we can discern from her actions and comments is that that’s only the case if you do it silently. She ignores and/or blocks anyone asking her questions about gender policy on social media, and it’s hard to imagine a disagreement less aggressive than a sticker saying “You’re being rather silly if you think a woman has a willy”, yet Blackman and McKelvie portray even that as a violent and unacceptable campaign of intimidation.

With the SNP’s hate crime bill about to pass into law this month, we can all hope and pray that The Great Ribbon Terror will soon be at an end. Sadly, it looks like it’s going to take the entire concept of free speech and political dissent with it.

Victimhood and demands for sympathy (especially while actively harming others but pretending you’re the victim) is a major trait of narcissism, sociopathy and psychopathy. How do we have so many of them in Scotland now?

I recall reading Jon Ronson’s ‘The Psychopath Test’ and one of the interesting throwaway lines from it was that Scotland’s prisons had virtually no psychopaths in them at all. The explanation was that people with such personalities tend to migrate towards where the power and money is, hence Scottish psychopaths ended up in London. I wonder if independence coming closer is creating a new area for them, along with others from rUK, America and further afield, and it’s something Scotland isn’t prepared to cope with?

If the sum raised is significant then that might prompt someone to challenge oswald’s disgusting stitch up.

If the candidates are too cowardly then the money raised could be given to any independence candidate standing in nicola sturgeon’s, humza useless’s or shirley ann somerville’s seat. Or the rev might like to use it to buy a billboard pointing out some facet of the thought crime bill or the genderwoowoo nonsense in any of the above seats.

I didn’t quite understand the new phrase of “virtue signaling”. With the fake pity-me cries of support quoted above I do now.

Stuart, the human detritus that are “rallying around” these bent and corrupt MSPs ought to consider the phrase….

“Evil triumphs when good men (and women) fail to act”.

Where were these people you quote in the Twitter boxes above when Alex Salmond was being framed by that contemptible abuse of police resources by MR Iain Livingstone?

Where were the Sturgeonite McWokeists when the Clown Office were committing malfeasance in public office?

No noise. No Twieets. No Twits. No Twats. Well maybe a few twats, but these McWoke people are fools. Worse, they are dangerous idiots. They have gotten away with their clever little plan so far. They will try it on right up until THE BACKLASH. That is the point when THRAWN Scots realise they have been conned by this political scum who gerrymandered the system to corruptly OBTAIN PROPERTY OR PECUNIARY ADVANTAGE BY DECEPTION (fraudulently obtaining a job by use of a bent CV as the Rasta gentleman will discover prior to his next Artist In Residence period at his local HMP).

It was THRAWN Scots, who responded to being cheated by “The Vow” from that slimey Daily Record that went on to VOTE IN 56 SNP MPs.

The same Scots who VOTED OUT 21 SNP MPs in 2017 as a warning shot to Nicola Sturgeon.

Nope, that “vandalism” evidenced above is the gentlest, most elegant use of TRUE political opposition with those ribbons laden with great significant meaning for real women. The “adult female” DNA variety. Not to take away the rights of the Trans gender community. Just stop the Trans gender community acting corruptly by their current infiltration of the Scottish party of governance. The McWokeists have REMOVED the right of Scots to vote on IndyRef2.

Declan Blanch is on the SNP NEC and has it on his Twatter feed. Drag Queens second. Trans Gender first. Then IndyRef third or fourth down the list of THEIR SNP.

The McWokes also REMOVED my rights as a person with an ATOS assessed disability by imposter fakery with their “self-assessed” would-be disabled wannabe MSPs. This who exaggerate an adopted lisp into full-blown Tourette’s syndrome to steal a very well paid and powerful job as an MSP. Yes it is hilarious that the McWoke pretendy BAME/DISABLED LIST MSP candidates with a 2% share of the vote have knocked Nicola Sturgeon, Angus Robertson and John Swinney off of the top spots, but it is still wrong to do what the have done. When the truth comes out during Scotland’s forthcoming ORWELLIAN NIGHTMARE, there will be a legal backlash.

The Transgender community whose intolerant elements decided to take over the SNP, including Nicola imposing the DESELECTED and REJECTED NEC failures will do their cause great harm.

At some point, the Scottish electorate will wake up and say ENOUGH.

The question is whether we have a proper, honest functioning government elected on 7th May 2021, or whether the whole nation has to endure four of five years of ORWELLIAN nightmare and show-trials which willl make Alex Salmond and Craig Murrays look like a tea party before we clear out this McWoke Tammany Hall extremism.

Alex if you or any of your former First Minister team are reading this, PLEASE consider one last Herculean effort and lead one of the pro-indy LIST parties. Gaining 15 to 25 LIST MSPs looks to be the only way to save Scotland from five years of more Nicola Sturgeon mayhem.

Quite a few have made comparisons between the last days of ‘(new) Labour in Scotland’ and the current SNP. I suspect the SNP are going to get a very rude awakening in May. I suspect many pro-Indy SNP voters, of which I have been, will, like me just not turn out to vote for them. I certainly wont be voting for a Britnat party.

What annoys me about this is anyone (WGD) blaming me, or others thinking similarly for the electoral boost this will give to the british nationalists.

The blame for people like me not voting SNP is not my fault. Its the SNPs fault. How cant the Wheeshters see this? The blame for people like me not voting for people who tried to jail AS, then cover it up, who try to force through extremely flawed anti-woman legislation and who don’t mention independence, let alone campaign for it, is not my fault. Its the fault of the person leading the party thats doing all that. It is not my fault there isnt a political party in Scotland with Indy as their flagship policy, it is Nicola Sturgeons fault. Stand with Nicola if you like. Wheesht if you like. See where it gets you. But dont blame people like me who just want Scotland to be a normal country that makes its own decisions for not supporting a party who dont stand for that simple objective. It is entirely right and proper that our ire should be focussed directly in Sturgeon and those around her.

If there is a pro indy party to vote for, they’ll get my vote. If theres none, I wont vote.

To paraphrase that once shining beacon of hope, Mhairi Black. I didnt leave the WGD, he left me. I didnt leave the SNP, the SNP left me.

Everything that questions their ideology is ‘terrorism’ to these snowflakes. The underlying irony for any woman should be the fact that this insanity grew out of feminism itself, and should be a valuable lesson in the adverse consequences of extremist ideology of any kind.

We have the identity ideology now, and, coming down the road to meet us at a suitable juncture for it, not for anyone else, is going to be the parallel or twin to the identity stuff, which is queer theory. Its job is to actually do the legwork needed to secure total freedom from identity politics.

That means, for example, tearing down the laws that say that a person should not feel completely free to enter into a relationship, brief or otherwise, with someone or do whatever takes his/her/its/their fancy as the ultimate expression of his/her/its/their freedom and individual autonomy.

On the face of it, total freedom to be whoever you are, to not be bound by societal chains seems like a good thing, and up to a point, possibly is. We have seen from identity politics, though, that it can hurt people, take away their rights and spaces, although that was not the intention. So for queer theory. No one is meant to get hurt. It is a bid to undermine restrictive societal prohibitions and allow new ways of being to emerge. Again, on the face of it, possibly not such a bad idea, and, although nihilism is not its intention, it feels like it might come to that.

Its aim is to democratize morality so that everyone and everything becomes acceptable, but, as we have seen from experiments like this in the past, human nature has a habit of intervening, and selfish and exploitative people emerge to … well, exploit and make selfish decisions. Queer theory, although not specifically tasked with it, would open up sexual boundaries that we have never before openly explored as a society: In**st; pa******lia, for example. What price consent, then? What of bodily integrity? Does this feel like men’s entitlement all over again?

That is why we need to ask the questions now that will matter later: why do men want to infiltrate women’s and girls’ spaces and weaken biological women’s connection with the material reality of their binary sex, and what do they plan to do after they have occupied all our spaces and rights and expelled us from them either by being in our faces and spaces in an aggressive manner or just by being in our faces and spaces and making us feel that we no longer belong there? If we all moved into a different space and called ourselves something other than ‘woman’ would we get peace? The answer to the last question is ‘no’, they would try to oust us from that new space and new name, too, because this is all about them. Why do children and young people require to be dislocated from their parents?

Does anyone remember – I barely do myself – the age of the hippies and peace and free love? As per, it did not turn out to be free love and peace for women or girls, as rapes started to replace consensual sex and pregnancies resulted from all the ‘free’ love. For women, love is rarely ‘free’ and sex never is (it probably isn’t for men either, but many think it is). That’s just for fairy tales and for the vacuous women of the identity politics and queer theory, snowflake tendency who appear unable to see the contradictions.

Independence is dependent on these vacuous, captured people. How ironic is that? In some ways, you have to forgive them because even the best minds in the best universities in the West are spewing out this ordure that passes for deep, philosophical thought. It is based on the works of Foucault and Butler and others.

Human beings are born with imagination, and can use it for all sorts of things, but one of its abilities is to imagine a future, and to imagine what you have to do to get there and what you must avoid doing if you want to get there. Coupled with deductive abilities, we can work out pretty quickly and fairly accurately that, if we do certain things, it WILL lead to this or that, and, if we don’t do certain things, it WILL NOT lead to this or that.

The other ability that is so precious that it is invaluable, is the ability to think for yourself; the ability to say: “no, I’m not going to jump off that bridge because so-and-so told me to”; or the ability to reason that if someone wants you to do something that you might feel uncomfortable about, you should be asking why, and what’s in it for them. Sometimes, good, well-meaning people enable the greatest atrocities just by doing nothing or by not questioning when they should have or by not speaking out when they ought to have done so. Likewise, we are allowing our independence to be hi-jacked by people who have no self-awareness.

The End of Wings Over Scotland?

Stuart, many of us didn’t understand your focus on this Transgender issue. You were absolutely right about raising that matter. It will define Scotland for a decade. A fate worse tha Covid is headed our way.

Simple question to you Stuart, seeing as you are most at risk of being imprisoned for 1 to 7 years on the basis of uncorroborated evidence if/when the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Bill receives Royal Assent, will you be closing down the Wings Over Scotland website?

Given the nature of the Bill and the horrendous harbinger nightmare of a very real Orwellian Scotland in just a few weeks, it would be entirely reasonable if you decided to close down this website. Many of us will miss it and be very distressed, but I don’t think anyone here wants to see a fundraiser for your bail.

With regard to Alex Salmond. Sorry my old friend, but you will know what the word “uncorroborated” means in terms of the Bill.

Nicola has stalled for time. The very minute HM Queen Elizabeth signs that Bill, or to be precise the “commencement date” is when Police Scotland will follow orders and find a legal way to come to Strichen and arrest you. Nicola will not miss her target a second time. Alec, as you are at risk of 1 to 7 years in jail on uncorroborated “evidence” that probably explains why neither yourself nor anyone else of political statesman/stateswoman standing is coming forward to join/lead a pro-indy Holyrood LIST party.

We are too late. Nicola has stalled for time and in so doing she has won.

Even if Stuart Campbell keeps this website alive, EVERY ONE reading this is eligible to go to prison for between 1 and 7 years just for visiting this website.

There is even provision in the Bill allowing Police Scotland to enter your home, seize your computer equipment and search the hard drives for “cached” material.

Really sorry about this ladies, gentlemen and all our national treasures from the ruling transgender community, but I was trained in law to the level of arresting and forensically preparing cases that included up to life imprisonment. I wish I did not know about the law. Not today. Not this article Stu., just posted on Wings. It has avalanched matters somewhat.

The Bill, which Stuart reminded us is imminent, is pretty much upon us.

In summary, on Royal Assemt and Commencement Date of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 coming to pass…

1). The online website Wings Over Scotland will be taken offline and its owner liable to uncorroborated prosecution. Being in prison for 1 to 7 years will hamper any further articles.

2). You, yes you who are merely reading this will be liable to imprisonment upon conviction by evidence from an ucorroborated source and shall serve from a tariff of up to 7 years in prison.

Your computer cache may assist your defense, but only if there has been no amendment/overwriting of what you read. What that means is IF you posted any BTL comment on the soon to be outlawed Wings Over Scotland, the police cybercrime unit examining YOUR seized computer will discover you have made a BTL comment. So your “virgin computer cache” defence goes out of the window and you go through the door of your local HMP. At least you get free room and board. The food ain’t that bad. Also I’ve seen a lot of you at YES rallies. Forgive me but most of the male (him/he) here at BTL are fat and bald, so Mr Big in jail will leave your male virginity intact. If you are under 30 years of age and the type of guy that Derek Mackay fancies, then best start trying out butt plugs and good quality lubricant so you don’t get burst by Mr Big.

3). Alex, my heartfelt commiserations to you. It would be wrong in the extreme to ask you to place yourself in further harm’s way. Nicola seems to have won the war. Evans promised this to her and Humza is on the verge of delivering.

Without doubt, that Hate Crime Bill is the worst piece of legislation I have ever studied. It is 100 times as bad as that Poll Tax experiment the Tories inflicted upon Scotland before being rolled out to England as Thatcher’s last mistake.

Any good folk from England, you need to read Humza’s Hate Crime Bill. Because a similar version is headed your way.

It’s actual name should be: “The Orwell 1984 Thought Crime (Scotland) Act 2021.”

Well played Boris. Who knew you and old Nick the she-devil had it in you (I best go back and check that Bill to see if it has retrospective powers) as that is one of the last times I will be legally allowed to criticize the current First Minister.

Jesus, they really haven’t thought this through. I am not going to write it, but the law of unintended consequences mean that when the entire population of Scotland wakes up to having all their freedom of speech removed… well folk don’t tend to react to banana state government so well.

    Good luck everyone.

I think you make a very important point. I do think the gender nonsense has indeed been weaponised by London. Either Nicola is complicit, or is too incompetent to realise. This is EXACTLY how the security services divide and conquer movements. They have ‘form’, so to speak. Just ask Ireland. As they say over there, ‘The ‘brits’ are at it again.

I am awaiting the reports into the government handling of abuse complaints. in the hope Sturgeon will go. At the very least I’d like Evans and Murrell to be removed from office, along with the Lord advocate and his spook underling.

But, it did occur to me, that perhaps going forward we, diehard independence supporters, should actually re-join the SNP en-masse, and start taking back control of the SNP from the gender loonies and the Sturgeon woke coven. We will soon have actual physical presence conferences again, and demo’s will once more be possible, together with uindy marches.

I may actually do it, and it might be a good strategy for all of us to do it. As to the election, how I vote depoends entirely on whether Sturgeon Murrell Evans ans those other two (Lord advocate and his English spook), keep their jobs. I may, however, need to vote SNP on the first vote, just in order to prevent the two SNP capetbaggers/wastrels parachuted into Edinburgh (Robertson and Campbell) having any chance on the list.

Away and bolt ya cultist rocket. No party is owed my vote, or anyone else’s. They have to earn it. The SNP has earned nothing but my contempt in the last 18 months. What the unionists say is neither here not there. A pro-indy majority of MSPs doesn’t have to consist solely of SNP MSPs. More to the point even if it did it wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference as the SNP has no clear path to a “legal” referendum. They’ve acquiesced in an effective unionist veto by accepting that a S30 Order is required. Their 11 Point Plan is a joke.

The SNP isn’t the indy movement, we are: the people. If there’s a majority for indy, then it will happen. If the SNP are too tholed to bring about independence, then we have to look somewhere else.

Sturgeon is a liability, as are the coterie around her. They have to go. I’d sooner spoil my vote than vote for a Sturgeon approved candidate: there are many who feel the same. If the SNP don’t get a majority, they have only themselves to blame, not us. I’d prefer them NOT to have a majority unless they change leadership.

I want indy even more than I used to: but not at any cost.

But Nicola Sturgeon suggested in her evidence Mr Aberdein could have learned the name of the complainer/s from Mr Salmond.

That makes four people – Alex Salmond, Duncan Hamilton, Kevin Pringle and now Lorraine Kay – who say Geoff Aberdein spoke to them very shortly after meeting a government official.

They all say he told them of the complaints against Mr Salmond, and also the name of a complainer.

The only substantive reply I have had so far is from the Tory list MSP. I doubt if he wrote it himself; with the Forensic Medical Services bill there was a centrally-created statement that they all sent out (it was quoted by several people).

    It includes:

At Stage 3 of the Bill we will submit and support further amendments to protect free speech. But the Scottish Conservatives are clear we will not support the SNP’s Bill if it includes the current stirring up of hatred offences.

    and

We have been able to stand up to this Bill in part and pass some amendments because the SNP do not currently have a majority in Parliament. The only way to stop an SNP majority again and get the Scottish Parliament 100% focused on rebuilding Scotland after coronavirus is to vote for the Scottish Conservatives on your party list ballot in May’s election.

The article linked below is an excellent read and should deeply shame those pushing for gender reform.
It’s a subject which really pisses me off, not least of all because mentally unwell individuals are having their delusions enabled, instead of being provided with the help they truly need.

This kind of madness has been with us forever, in one form or another. By the way, for gays and lesbians out there, the ‘queer’ in queer theory is no insult to them. Queer theory’s underlying aim is to deconstruct from underneath, from within, to dismantle prohibitive laws and to engender laws that reflect democratic morality – on the face of it a desirable state of affairs. Unfortunately, like most of political and social philosophy, it fails to take the reality of human nature into consideration, and that is its fatal flaw. It won’t stop them, though. It never does. I feel very angry with extreme feminism for taking us to this point because certain men were just waiting to jump on the bandwagon and destroy it. Why women like Kirsty Blackman and others do not see that escapes me.

    a) write to the external counsel and requires them to answer simply if they have notes from those meetings.
    b) write to the SG telling them to get the notes from external counsel, censor as necessary, and pass to committee.

Seems that party members are being put on advance notice that the Government is going to lift COVID restrictions on the 15th March 2021 and that this will allow the restoration of campaign leafletting by activists, but not canvassing.

With guidelines having been prepared that are being said will be applicable to all political parties it is quite interesting how this decision, although not it seems yet publicly announced, has been made in advance of that announcement.

Maybe the wee birdie was chirping early but this change will allow delivery of campaign leaflets by the more traditional and hugely cheaper mechanism of member activists delivery rather than the much more expensive mechanism of having your campaign leaflets delivered commercial or printed adverts in the press and on-line.

Moreover certainly brings into perspective how COVID restrictions have been a blocker on traditional political campaigning.

No doubt all parties, when they are aware of the restriction lifting, will welcome this since priorly traditional campaigning has been restricted to only the more expensive forms of communications and information gathering.

And sometime after the 15th March you never know, the Scottish Government may later announce, if they do not know already, that traditional canvassing and similar activities may once again be allowed, or not, as they may decide.

Interesting developments though as we look forward to the announcement of the 15th March easing of lockdown restrictions.

“Records of Nicola Sturgeon meetings with Alex Salmond cannot be found, John Swinney confirms

The Deputy First Minister has told the Holyrood inquiry into the government’s unlawful investigation of Mr Salmond that he is unable to provide details that the committee had asked for.

Mr Swinney, who is facing a vote of no confidence after refusing Parliament’s demands to release legal advice for almost four months, had said the government did not record minutes of meetings with its external counsel about the former first minister’s ultimately successful legal challenge.

The current First Minister and Ms Evans, Scotland’s most senior civil servant, held meetings with external legal advisers about the judicial review on November 2 and November 13, 2018, according to evidence provided to the committee.”

    (snip)

“When Mr Swinney first confirmed on Friday that no minutes could be found for the November meetings, Scottish Conservative MSP Donald Cameron said: “I’ve acted as counsel for the Scottish Government. At consultations, everyone takes notes. It is inconceivable these minutes don’t exist.” ”

    ============================================================

Just how stupid do Swinney, Sturgeon and Evans take us for? It is conceivable that Sturgeon might not take notes, relying on LE to do so. It is not conceivable that a career civil servant like LE would fail to do so, nor that the external counsel would not have made their own notes. Add to this that there would certainly have been a representative present from the Solicitor General and they would definitely have made a record. The SG’s shredders must be working overtime.

How much more evidence of obstruction do the Greens need before they’ll vote No Confidence in Swinney? Sturgeon should be impeached as well. No minutes for her meeting with Geoff Aberdein on 29th March or with AS on 2nd April, no minutes for meetings with external counsel in November – it’s almost as if NS had something to hide.

Maybe it would open the eyes of some of the faithful followers if they saw actual MSPs confirming what the rest of us now know.

Completely understandable, especially in the current climate.

In many cases people could be in danger of losing their jobs by “bringing their organisation into disrepute” just by having opinions that do not conform to the acceptable norm. There may even be people who need to hide their identities for safety’s sake. Possibly from a violent ex partner. The person may have nothing to hide but may have plenty to hide from. It can be a nasty world out there for some folks.

I think people, myself included, have a tendency to react immediately to events as they’re reported rather than seeing the overall picture. So when Sturgeon tells another lie, makes another snide insinuation about Salmond, and hangs on for another day, doom and despondency descend. If we take a few steps back, we can see that Sturgeon is on the way out and will be gone sooner or later. Even if she somehow hangs on until the election and beyond, the penny will eventually drop amongst the general population that they’ve been cheated and lied-to for six years and that we’re not one iota nearer to independence. However, as soon as we have a leader whose focus is on independence rather than men in dresses, we’ll be on the march again. It’s inevitable. There’s still no valid case for the union, and the arguments for independence have only strengthened since 2014.

The stuff about the Christmas party is another set of incidents but appears to not have been dealt with.

There are two young male researchers who have come forward, one who makes it clear he is heterosexual and found the male advances particularly uncomfortable although sexuality should not come into it. As it was made clear with AS this was about a power imbalance as much as anything.

The unedifying ‘whataboutery’ in certain quarters for Derek Mackay attempting to hit on a 16 year old even today shows how far we’ve to go – although you may as well be talking in Klingon to the likes of Mhari Black or Kirsty Blackman if you dared point that out. They have a siege mentality that would make your average knuckle trailing Orange Walk bigot look broadminded.

Being LGBTQ+ has become one of the new “gangs” in a secular age when what foot you kick with is dated in an era few even pretend anymore they have any religious convictions (unless their half of the Old Firm gets added to the Census this time around) – and unfortunately is proving equally as mulish and self-centred as its predecessors. ‘Plus ca change …’

All it took was Alex Salmond and the SNP being gullible enough to believe UK devolution could ever deliver independence, followed by SNP careerists who cherish administering colonial rule more than fighting for Scotland’s freedom.

    That’s harsh Colin.

I like to think I have a good grasp of the Constitutional fumbles, but Alex Salmond nevertheless set YES on a winning trajectory, and had he remained FM when Brexit fell into his lap, Scotland would now be an Independent Country.

Yes, Devolution has always been a trap, an unconstitutional device to lure the unwary, and deliver a beachhead for UK colonial encroachment, but if the SNP had any fire in their bellies, Devolution could have been used to enhance and codify Scotland’s Sovereign Constitution rather than Westminster’s.

But we are where we are, with Scotland’s Independence community facing a choice in May whether to vote for the rogues who’d frustrate our desire for Independence, or the rogues who would exploit it. Independence itself isn’t on the table, and a large number of folks have simply disengaged and won’t vote at all.

I don’t know where we go from here. There are options which could drag Independence out of the flames, but neither the necessary boldness or determination to seize them. As ever, a chronic absence of leadership.

Maybe the big mistake we have made is trusting Independence to politicians at all, not just the amateurish shower of current politicians.

But as it stands, I wouldn’t want to be in Nicola Sturgeons shoes. The Germans fighting for Berlin in 1945 against the massive impending Soviet onslaught had an expression “Enjoy the war, because the peace will be terrible”. I think that expression might be broadly applicable to Sturgeon.

They generally have the freedom to decide what they may view as being a negative association they may be tarred with as a consequence of their employees words or actions, even if not obviously connected with that employees role as such. There have been instances (usually with US Corporations) of people attacking corporations for political speech of their employees, and effectively hounding said employees out of their job, by ’embarrassing’ the corporation.

If one works for a US corporation, even outwith the USA it is sensible to take such protective measures. I imagine the same could apply to UK corporates, especially if they have contracts with governments, or some of the offended/insulted/aggrieved parties/organisations/groupings.

    No, we don’t, actually.

The ones who have to take a very hard look at themselves are those who have been allowing the fraud standing as SNP leader to destroy and eviscerate the party in the way she has done, to the point she has made it worthless as a pro independence or democratic party.

The ones who must take a hard look at themselves are those who allowed this fraud to undermine the party’s raison d’etre and democratic credentials and to take yes voters for fools by continuously denying us the delivery of our democratic mandates, by corrupting the democratic structures of the party to force on the electorate worthless candidates and by continuously denying our exercise in self determination with fabricated pathetic excuses for the best part of 6 years. By the way, that includes each and every MSP and MP who remained silent while she did all this and remained silent while Mr Salmond was being stitched up and smeared day in day out.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but from where I am standing the SNP or the greens for that matter do no longer look like pro-independence parties. They look like the new tools of the British state that will happily force on the population toxic policies nobody wants as a way to treat Scotland as the testing ground to see what they should or should not implement in England.

Attempting to patronising us or psychologically blackmailing us with that pile of crap is only going to backfire. If the SNP loses this election, which should have been a walk in, they only have themselves to blame for taking yes supporters and the electorate at large as fools and for having allowed that corrupt to the core individual destroy the party’s credentials as she has done.

Independence does not have to be linked to disgusting levels of corruption, perjury, abuse of power, the destruction of females’ rights nor the destruction of our freedom of speech. That the SNP and Greens are blackmailing us into accepting those as a condition for independence is, in my view, abuse of power and the most disgusting attempt at deceiving the electorate. The SNP or Greens have no right to make those toxic laws or corruption a condition for us to achieve independence. If the SNP or Greens are making independence conditional to these toxic laws and corruption, they can shove them up their backside and go and take a hike.

The SNP and the Greens have been part of a pro independence majority in Holyrood for 5 years. What do we have to speak for it? Unbelievable levels of corruption and an unprecedented loss of powers. If they did not deliver independence in the last 5 years when they were presented with every opportunity, they are not going to deliver it now.

At this moment in time, it seems that the only way to vote for independence, the preservation of females’ rights and freedom of speech simultaneously is by spoiling the constituency ballot. Well then, so be it.

Please DO NOT “draw a huge boaby and clacker bag”. Contrary to the myth from the more moronic parts of social media, your ballot is NOT secret – it has a unique serial code on the back.

It used to be routine for the vote bundles for the Communist Party of Great Britain to be bundled up by returning officers and kept aside for Special Branch to take note of potential “subversives”. The practice stopped when the CPGB vote dwindled and became so split into competing Marxist factions as to render the exercise meaningless (most votes being personal ones for the candidate from family and friends).

(Lindi St Clair’s Corrective Party remains the only one that had a manifesto commitment for the ending of ballot numbering – for all the good it did them).

Banksy was forced to abandon a plan to reward people who posted on social media proof that they had voted for any other candidate than Tory in 2017 when he discovered those voters could fall foul of the law (as for that matter could he for “treating”, even though not a candidate).

Don’t gamble on a system which appears to be compromised enough up here not to decide to make an example of you under the Malicious Communications Act or whatever. If you think Dear Leader and the gang won’t make an example of you when it suits, you haven’t been paying attention of late. In the current climate, all it might take is a headline of yourself being in court and fined (or worse) for such behaviour for your employer to let you go.

Just score out all four boxes individually (NEVER put one big cross through the lot – some returning officers choose to “accept” the centre point as the “intended” vote), and if you must write or draw on the rest, keep it clean.

The other tells us what we want to hear, but does the complete opposite once elected.

The serial no on a ballot is irrelevant in a voting booth. It’s just a ballot number so a total ballot count cant be totalled at each station on issue. You cannot be identified. Otherwise it’s not a free vote.

When you go to the voting booth the clerks just give you a ballot from the top of a pile, there not identifiable to you. It could be last weeks lottery numbers or next weeks on the back, it means feck all.

Very, very, occasionally in case of electoral fraud that connection is used to remove specific ballots from the tally.

Does that mean it’s not a “free vote”? It’s certainly not a completely secret one (though an improvement on the system pre-1832 when voting was conducted in public with a show of hands), and I used to know someone who refused to vote for that reason.

Far too many people seem to think it is now or never.
It’s always now or never -til the next time.

The single most important issue for no is to remove Surgeon and her cabal.
If you don’t get rid of them, you’ll not get independence, even if they ‘win’ it -which everyone now sees they don’t actually want.
You’ll be out of the fire but in the frying pan -and she’ll never hand over power to you.

This coming election has to be used to break the woke list candidates, plus Murrell, Surgeon and all the placemen/women. Success in that would be a very important victory.

From that point, you could build a very strong case for independence, if you use all the talents.
Moeanwhile, most of Scotland has to be thinking an SNP goverment under Sturgeon of an independent Scotland would be a shambles. It has ben a shambles for a good few years already.
Education, Health, Business, Trade, ublic Sector, Law, Holyrood, Media -all currently rubbish I say.
-and worst of all, no economic plan to prove we would thrive in independence.

    a) The Greens are not doing so.
    b) Explain why I should take part in a manifesto development, vote on candidate selection, contribute funds to a Party and THEN have my seat represented by an MSP I would not have voted for.”

    a) Straw man. The Greens are happy to be allies of the SNP. You are not, by your very words later on (“a long term alternative to the SNP”), so why should they share a banner with you? They are an established brand people trust (albeit for how much longer is subject to debate) – you (and the AFI) need them more than they need you – some would suggest they’d need association with either of you like a hole in the head, but that’s not for me to say.

But it does lead quite nicely onto:

    b) Because no one cares a flying fuck other than yourselves. It’s called pragmatics. At least sharing a platform with Tommy Sheridan would give you SOME sliver of a chance and some mainstream media attention, which – like it or not – is your only remote hope of even retaining your deposit. Because right now, that’s the best you can aspire to at this election. Anything else is just kidding yourselves. You’ve left it far too late, and with the Covid lockdown restrictions, it’s not as if you could do any real campaiging anyway.

Do you remember RISE? They were getting practically colour supplements in the Scottish media. Yes, that was largely as a result of a certain Jim Sillars saying he’d vote for them if Colin Fox topped his area list (and lascivious journalists with an unhealthy interest in Cat Boyd), but when it came to polling day they came behind the Scottish Christian Party and the BNP. RISE discovered the hard way that publicity stunts and tame journos are no substitute for solid community graft over a sustained time.

What do you think is going to happen to you? People will vote for you because you’ve got a catchy hi-techy abbreviation?

On that note, do you even have any organisation in place for hitting social media with targetted adverts? I’m guessing not, because sneaking in “vote ISP” plugs on blogs appears the height of your online political acumen. But all your noteworthy opponents – yes, even the Scottish Greens – will. The Greens are a party that’s learned the very hard way to have a professional election machine (even if rank amateurs in Holyrood at times!), as have the LibDems – and those are the guys you are battling to nip ahead of for List seats.

It’s been a standard part of any serious political party campaign since 2016. It’s what now separates the professional parties from the plucky amateurs/downright naive (depending on viewpoint). It also costs money – a lot of it – and having heard of no major financial backer coming your way (you would certainly have boasted to the press long before now were it the case), I’m guessing that’s currently beyond you.

I’m sorry, but I’ve saw far too many budding political “superheroes” proffer themselves to the electorate as “saving the world” failing to realise to everyone else they just another crowd of attention seekers wearing their underpants outside their breeks.

Either you stand together this time around on the broadest platform practicable, ie. vote for independence and the rest down to member conscience, or you’re simply a £500 a pop vanity exercise at the kindest analysis.

But if you guys truly are aspiring to be “a long term alternative to the SNP” as you claim, you will take a deep breath, accept this election is too late, stand down and start planning for the long term, whilst Tommy Sheridan and co assault another Forlorn Hope but unlike Captain Richard Sharpe don’t take the enemy citadel.

Tommy’s got the thick skin for such a gung-ho approach to politics that one day for him it may, just may, work again after umpteen disappointments (stranger things have happened). For others, it will remain supreme folly and soul destroying in the process.

Yes – your electoral register number is written on the counterfoil of the ballot paper and those counterfoils are returned with the ballot box to the returning officer at the count.

So, you cannot be traced directly from the ballot paper but you could – in certain circumstances – be identified by cross referencing the number on the ballot paper with the corresponding counterfoil and then cross referencing the electoral register.

It is a useful protection against ballot box stuffing amongst other things.

They are associated with the Queen, The Orange Order and actually anti Scottish beliefs.

So commenting on Rangers is not causing division. The division exists , so we can’t pretend it doesn’t . Rangers fans are hardly a key demographic for yes. The good ones who are not like that have already gone to yes and wouldn’t disagree with any of what I have just said.”

Aye! I know many Yes voting Rangers fans who are sick at what Rangers presently represent. I don’t think many of them know about Jim Baxter playing keepy uppy against the Auld Enemy and telling Denis Law that it wasn’t enough to beat them we had to humiliate them. I think they might hate Baxter for his views in that respect. I also know many Rangers fans who got tore into Franco’s Fascist Police in Barcelona back in the day. Aye, you’ve got to have hawk eyes to watch both individuals at the same time as they check off your name on the list and tear off the ballot paper.
Scoring a line through the name on the register listing voters and an addition of 1 for first, 2 for second, 3 for third, etc voter of the day would then tally with start of Serial Nos. on the ballots papers.

It took me a while to grasp it but when we had one new person staffing the polling station the process was slowed enough to catch it.
I take my polling card with me to the booth and copy the ballot serial number and barcode number on the reverse.
This also means I can categorically state my Indref ballot had a barcode on the reverse.
I am led to believe that indyref ballots may not have been from a single print supplier, and were possibly local authority area sourced, hence why some supposedly didn’t have barcodes on the reverse.
