Faces In Sand
Ladies and gentlemen, the next leader of the SNP.
To be scrupulously fair to the huffing dolt-child, we suppose in grey, chilly Aberdeen there could be some confusion on the matter. But remarkably, the above isn’t even nearly the dumbest thing that’s happened (so far) at this year’s SNP conference.
It’s probably not even this.
Though the “debate” (not a single person spoke against the motion) on reviving the SNP’s insanely dangerous “conversion practices” bill was undoubtedly moronic. (Don’t forget, the party controls the conference agenda and it wouldn’t let members debate independence strategy, but gave this stage time.)
Nor was it the embarrassing AI drivel the party used to front its farcical new idea of a “survey” of 1.5m voters. (Translation: some leaflets.)
“Choose Scotland” as opposed to what? Both of those paths are plainly in the same country, and neither of them visibly lead anywhere. What a metaphor.
No, the single most cretinous moment was probably the passing of this resolution.
It is now official SNP – and Scottish Government – policy.
Even for the party it’s a move of jaw-slackening stupidity, based solely on the Twitler Youth having been engaged in a(nother) screaming foot-stamping tantrum ever since Elon Musk took over the platform in 2022 and decided to allow a range of political viewpoints on it, not just theirs.
(Although their incandescent, petulant fury did lead to us coming out of retirement, so it did accidentally contribute to a widening of Scottish political commentary.)
Their preferred alternative, the paedophile-infested BlueSky, reaches barely 8% as many Scots as Twitter.
But because the party chose to put it on the agenda and a couple of hundred woke activists at conference voted for it, every government-controlled public body in Scotland will now be removed from the platform where they can be most easily held accountable and answerable to the public.
Meanwhile, a party that haemorrhaged 800,000 votes at the last election and has lost more than 60% of its own membership since 2021 will lock itself tighter into the airtight echo chamber in which it increasingly lives, simply refusing to hear the voices of voters at all and telling itself that if you can’t HEAR any criticism, everyone must love you.
Perhaps the most startling thing about this week’s YouGov poll was the finding that just 41% of Scots were clear about what the SNP stood for. Just a few years ago, that figure would surely have been close to 100%. Even people who disagreed with the party knew that its purpose was independence.
But this year’s conference, denying members the chance to discuss its supposed goal and instead obsessing over identity politics and censorship of dissent – let’s take a moment here to raise an eyebrow at the fact that the resolution demanded Twitter/X be banned in the whole UK, not just Scotland – shows that voters are right to be mystified about what the SNP’s purpose is in 2026.
The truth is simple: the SNP exists for power’s sake alone. As long as it can keep funnelling fat salaries into the pockets of incompetent imbeciles and providing the increasingly bloated First Minister with lavish first-class jollies, nothing else matters.
The SNP of 2026 has two faces: one buried in the trough, the other in the sand.

We can only hope that the Alex Salmond trial and the EXPOSURE of the vile , despicable actions of Sturgeon and her cabal of grossly incompetent deviants and perverts lead to the DESTRUCTION of these LUNATICS
I see the fuckwit Jasus Kelly is engaging in his usual grovelling prostrated actions again trying to ingratiate himself in the trough of Scum Nonce Party politics
The smugness emanating from that FAT BALDHEADED TWAT is almost bile inducing
Nothing about this surprises me except that Facebook has a 70% reach.
