Wings Over Scotland

Well, this story moves fast.

What that means is that, at least for now, our YouTube channel is back (Back! BACK!), minus the 13 videos complained about by the BBC on copyright grounds. The situation is once again that Corporation has 14 business days to file a formal court challenge, and unless it does so the channel will be reinstated in full.

Meanwhile, here’s how the Streisand Effect works.

Even in the summer news drought, and despite the intervention of the longest-serving and most recent former First Minister, the Daily Record, the Guardian, the Times, the Daily Mail and the Express are all still turning a blind eye so far, as are all the outraged pundits and commentators of the Scottish press who raised merry hand-wringing hell about the entirely imaginary “silencing” of Stephen Daisley and the “intimidation” of David Torrance and all the rest, in the name of the sacred right of free speech.

But this story’s got a wee while to run yet, so maybe they’re just waiting for the right moment to deliver their red-hot takes.

Supposing “The Times” issued an order to The Mitchell Library that it must immediately burn all back copies of the newspaper because they didn’t want the public to be able to read what politicians had said. Would anyone think that was reasonable? No. Well that is what is happening.

I suggest a new law is brought in compelling public service broadcasters to permanently and openly archive all news and current affairs programmes. Thank you.?

@ Big Jock ” Are the media creating the news on behalf of rich individuals and groups? ”

I would agree and disagree – for example the anti-Semitism row hasn’t touched the rich Tories since business links and the Jewish lobby are well established there, as in Congress.

The problem for Labour is that it’s tried to separate anti-Semitism from anti Israel sentiment. So there’s an existential problem since world-wide, including in England, approximately 65-70 % of people of Jewish origin consistently support a Zionist State.

Therefore there’s a power struggle in Labour ranks which ( and here I agree ) the Media are using to foment trouble. Just have a read of, for example, the Telegraph’s reports over the last month.

Free speech and press for all unless you support independence it seems. makes them look like the untrustworthy fools they are.

I’ve just subscribed to the Rev’s YT channel. The bigger his YT channel ‘audience’ the bigger a player he becomes with YouTube/Google on that platform and they will perhaps think twice about being so hasty in taking it down in future. YT channels with large subscriber numbers generate more cash for YT and so, while they still have to abide by YT rules, T&Cs etc, YT would handle them more ‘sympathetically’ – which is to say they would be unlikely to rush to shut down the entire YT channel as they did with WoS.

So let’s get the Rev’s YT channel subscriber numbers up. Click on the YouTube link near the top of this page (on right). This will take you to WoS YT channel. Click on the RED ‘subscribe’ button on the YT page (you’ll need a Google account to subscribe).

This story isn’t going to dissipate – it’s going to run until we get an answer from BBC London as to why it got involved in the shutting down of two Scottish independence websites over BBC material that was neither offensive nor in breach of any rights.

The incident fell just short of State censorship, and considering that the BBC is part of the control of the British Establishment and Government, this only endorses in most people’s minds, that the British State is not a fair democracy. The two pillars of the BBC; impartial and non-biased have been shown to be an illusion. By shutting down opinion on Scottish independence, the BBC made it clear that the upheld ideals of freedom of speech and opinion which it claims to hold dear, simply do not exist. The BBC became political at this point when it took action against those that offer a different political view to the British State. It therefore, is no different from the old Soviet style of censorship and its political newsfront Pravda.

Questions have been asked and answers are needed from the BBC. To refuse to do so, also implies that democracy and freedom of speech are just bywords within the British State, and therefore that State is not so very different from the old Soviet regimes that once ruled most of Eastern Europe during the late 20th Century.

We await for that response from the BBC.

They (unionist media) must long for the days when they could control every word we heard and read. A World in which something didn’t happen if they decided not to report it. Pathe News World

…they still try of course. We have a strange environment in which you can read on the internet about Tory dark money or the power grab post Brexit but scan the Herald, Scotsman or switch on the BBC and the void is amazing.

We have a constant spin on NHS “problems” for example without context.
So called journalists who fail to check basic facts…after all what are the media for?

They try to fool their remaining clients with a fake portrait of balance as a rearguard action. They have an interview with someone reporting facts and another ( usually a ranting unionist) giving an OPINION.
Scottish journalism has now become two voices giving two versions of the same data and calling it balance.
Scottish journalism is taking data about Scotland without context to the UK e.g. NHS Scotland out performing every part of the U.K. and spinning it into failure.
To the Scottish media the average person has less than two legs – a technical truth and probably the Scottish Goverments fault.

Never mind we can have more coverage of any murder / car crash or fire….or a photograph of Ruth Davidson sitting on a dumb animal or Willie Rennie. You can all look to the next Royal event or WW1 anniversary

So in a nutshell Scott Arthur cooked up a scheme to get wings and Peter Curran shut down on YouTube by contacting the BBC to complain about video copyright content after hiding his own cloned copyright content behind a privacy block and is trying to claim his own site was first targeted by an “Unnamed NAT” in the same manner begging the question how come he had time and opportunity to hide his content while Wings and Peter Curran where totally shutdown without warning or advance notice.
Even worse the representative of the BBC corroborates Scott Arthurs tale of a complaint made against him. Either the BBC are lying on this issue or Scott Arthur complained about himself as well as Wings and Peter Curran.
I cant see any other way for the events to fit even loosely.
And on top of all of that You tube reacted differently to the same complaint in a way that looks politically partisan while the BBC keep repeating they take ALL examples of copyright infringement seriously but ignore many more examples still active and running on You tube.

This is the stuff conspiracies are made off.

Oh! Aye! But who says that in view of the dirty tricks “some older Yessers, like Me”, have experienced of the dirty tricks of the Westminster Establishment, including their security services and such as, (and I quote from Wiki):-

    “Special Reconnaissance Regiment”.

Active 6 April 2005 – present in the UK.

Branch – British Army – Type Special forces

    Role – Special reconnaissance

One regiment – United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF)

Garrison/HQ Stirling Lines, Hereford, United Kingdom

    purpose – War on Terror
    • War In Afghanistan
    • Iraq War
    • Al-Qaeda insurgency in Yemen
    • War in Somalia
    Dissident Irish Republican campaign.

Commanders – Colonel in Chief – HRH The Duchess of Cornwall

    Abbreviation – SRR

The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) is a special reconnaissance unit of the British Army. It was established on 6 April 2005 and is part of the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) under the command of Director Special Forces, alongside the Special Air Service (SAS), Special Boat Service (SBS) and the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG).

“The regiment conducts a wide range of classified activities related to covert surveillance and reconnaissance. The SRR draws its personnel from existing units and can recruit male and female volunteers from any branch of the British Armed Forces.”

That is just one such regiment but what of the more recent 77th Brigade? Do you imagine for a moment that undercover people that have infiltrated several, (not banned), political organisations and never forget the cases where police and MOD undercover agents not only had sexual interactions but in some cases even, “Married”, members of the organisations they were investigating.

Wings has had its fair share of false flag indy supporters who quite obviously are anti-independence or at least anti-SNP/SG.

I’m certain at least some of the more objectionable language is just such, “UK Special Ops”, and there has been much, much worse, “special ops”.

Yet this is still a conspiracy involving compliance by the BBC and YouTube. The BBC cant justify the position where they claim they treat all examples of copyright the same way and neither can YouTube because both have demonstrated a difference in attitude and action on political bias grounds.

For the BBC and YouTube to be credible they should have gone after more than just 2 pro Indy sites.
Its a blatant unmistakable piece of political shenanigans involving the Labour party the BBC and YouTube.

What have we learned / confirmed from this fiasco.

BBC Scotland (like Scottish labour and the Scottish Tories) are merely a branch office of the London establishment. Not consulted just told what to do. A bunch of sub subservient lick spittles.

Donalda MacKinnon as the head off BBC Scotland sent out Ian Small to take the flak. Loves the salary, the position but sends a patsy out to defend the indefensible. If she had any backbone she would resign as whatever credibility she had has disappeared like snow of a dike.

Where is she?, probably in the same place as Rooth the mooth. Both unavailable for comment. This happened on her watch, she should man up and take responsibility.

Ian Small had obviously not been fully briefed re the legal side of things. A good get out for not being able to explain the timeline of all of this and the repercussions.

He stated that the notifications with youtube would be withdrawn this pm. He / the BBC were not doing Wings any favours. He / the BBC knew if that didn’t happen they would have been flooded with notifications by Wingers for every political party and newspaper in the uk resulting in ALL of them being taken down.

In independence circles it was always well known that the government funded and backed BBC was biased, what has happened over the last few days confirms to many more people of the ingrained incestuous relationship of the government and the BBC.

The BBC is controlled and financed by the government of the day to put out the “British” message to the plebs.

WoS has gotten publicity to die for. You could not buy what Stu has got after the last few days. He has glaringly exposed the BBC inherent bias to an astonishing level.

Many people may not have heard of WoS before but they do know, and I assume that they will be visiting the website just to see what its all about. Priceless publicity.

Its difficult to see where a BBC backlash will come from but i am sure that they will try something. They should accept that they have been caught out big style and suck it up.

It will be interesting to see what stance the Brit Nat print media will take tomorrow. Their profile over this issue has been lower than a snakes belly. I’m sure they will jump on the “freedom of the press bandwagon” now that WoS has done done the graft for them. Bunch of arseholes who fool nobody.

Dave McEwan Hill – for my friend from a previous post.
I am so glad I am on your “list”. You sound like the bloody Stasi. I know what the Stasi did as I was stationed in Berlin in the 1960’s and spent a lot of time in East Berlin at the height of the cold war. Someone VERY high up did this, but the BBC have stuck to the line about ‘receiving a complaint’ although that doesn’t necessarily mean it was outside the organisation, but I imagine it DOES preclude this being an ordinary member of the public, or even one who happens to be a Tory MP.

Someone has made a phone call (no paper or e-mail trail) to someone high-up enough in the BBC to instruct a Lawyer to scare the shit out of YouTube. I can only imagine that YouTube go against their own rules ONLY when someone has put the fear of God into them.

Very high up, very powerful. This happened within a day or two of the BBC being embarrassed by a good interview by Stuart. SOMEONE didn’t like that, someone with a LOT of power, enough to get the entire BBC to comply with what THEY want. How high in the BBC do you have to be to actually carry this out? says:

Of course, these things, the attacks, the legal actions, the lies happening on a near daily basis COULD just be a series of coincidences.

It IS possible for a series of coincidences to occur. In the study of Statistics, the ‘Cluster Effect’ explains things like a run of good luck in Roulette or, equally, a run of BAD luck.

However, if this were the case and it WAS just down to coincidence then either you need to run out and buy lottery tickets EVERY week because surely that BAD luck will turn GOOD or conversely stay at home lest you be hit by a falling whale a la ‘Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy’

Luckily it ISN’T ‘luck’ it IS a sustained campaign by someone’s ‘dirty tricks department’ or several ‘someones’ more like.

But I don’t believe this is the end of the chapter on YouTube, the ‘review’ that has hurriedly been come up with(?) will do something more subtle and insidious I believe.

If the BBC and those who wish only to have a narrow view of our world portrayed wish it, they will use and abuse things like rules on radicalisation to prevent ANY access to their news output. If they do this I can see other channels having to comply via their license agreements. Already pressure has been brought to bear on channels with ‘Press TV’ having been shut down completely and now ‘RT’ being pressured and threatened (they are much abused and maligned on the BBC and it is NOT factual reporting by BBC it is vitriolic attack)

It’s east to ignore them shutting down voices you don’t agree with, as many don’t even appear to have noticed ‘Press TV’ having been forced off the air, and they also appear not to have noticed that ‘RT’ is under threat of it’s license and has also had it’s assets frozen too, at times. But when they get away with that, they are emboldened and will begin to shut down the more mainstream dissenters.

I have been heartened to see SOME concern from SOME of what I’d consider more mainstream voices on this. Of course, those who have already been silenced by ‘chilling effect’ will say nothing, thay’ve already capitulated…
