Well, this story moves fast.
What that means is that, at least for now, our YouTube channel is back (Back! BACK!), minus the 13 videos complained about by the BBC on copyright grounds. The situation is once again that Corporation has 14 business days to file a formal court challenge, and unless it does so the channel will be reinstated in full.
Meanwhile, here’s how the Streisand Effect works.
Even in the summer news drought, and despite the intervention of the longest-serving and most recent former First Minister, the Daily Record, the Guardian, the Times, the Daily Mail and the Express are all still turning a blind eye so far, as are all the outraged pundits and commentators of the Scottish press who raised merry hand-wringing hell about the entirely imaginary “silencing” of Stephen Daisley and the “intimidation” of David Torrance and all the rest, in the name of the sacred right of free speech.
But this story’s got a wee while to run yet, so maybe they’re just waiting for the right moment to deliver their red-hot takes.
You really do have to wonder, does Youtube actually know what day of the week it is?
BOOM!
The BBC’s London lawyer did not act on his own ..he must have been given orders to carry out this raid on the website by some one in the BBC offices. The question is who gave him the order and why
I never want to read another article in the press especially those news rags posted missing on the subject, about the bias of RT news, after their silence.
On the upside Wings must surely have gotten a fair bit of media coverage, and surely those who were oblivious to the site, might now take a peek.
Red hot turds, more like.
Would YouTube have responded thus absent the very public furore, I wonder.
Well, that did not take long. What were they thinking?
If folks in Scotland didn’t realise before now that the BBC is anti-indy, anti-SNP and anti-Scotland, they cannot fail to notice it now.
Shame on you BBC. Utterly shameful attack on free speech and democracy itself.
It will be interesting to see how closely Beattie, O’Neill and Burnside have been following these devlopments.
Approx 12.45 – 1.30, BBC Radio Scotland.
BBC will not be able to keep court proceedings secret, should they challenge Wings, thus providing a great source of bad news for the BBC, I’ll be surprised if they go to court, knowing the exposure it will bring down on them.
Hard core UKOK MSM hold outs determined not to offer the site publicity and so readership. The story has no upside for their agenda.
Excellent – hope this runs and runs. Even better if the BBC mounts a legal response.
A good airing in court is what we all need !!
ALL BBBC news and current affairs programmes should be permanently archived and accessible by the public. In the same way that Hansard is available. Or back copies of newspapers are available and acccesssible in public libraries.
Supposing “The Times” issued an order to The Mitchell Library that it must immediately burn all back copies of the newspaper because they didn’t want the public to be able to read what politicians had said. Would anyone think that was reasonable? No. Well that is what is happening.
I suggest a new law is brought in compelling public service broadcasters to permanently and openly archive all news and current affairs programmes. Thank you.?
Struggling to find BBC motivation and objective in this. They know fine well that Stu would pursue this. Are they really so arrogant or ignorant to ignore the potential downside to this act ? They couldn’t have imagined no repercussions surely ?
It reinforces my belief and something I think Derek Bateman said once, we are not fighting against BBC malice it’s BBC incompetence and inflexibility that is our foe.
They are probably all in total shock that the Audit Commission said the South Queensferry crossing was a good deal and well managed !!
Someone at the BBC has a lot of questions to answer. This worm hole is very deep indeed. I think the anti -Semitism story was also largely created in the media. Are the media creating the news on behalf of rich individuals and groups?
The Independent is roundly ignoring it as well. Nothing on the home page, nothing in the UK News or the Politics page. A search for ‘Wings’ finds nothing relevant.
Lots about Tommy bloody Robinson though.
The BBC can’t win here. If they contest it, they lose and if they don’t – they still lose. Well in Stu. You won the first big skirmish in the ongoing media war. Today is a very good day indeed. 🙂
Good that progress is being made. Good Eck video too. It will be interesting to see what the papers report tomorrow.
Love the old school AP shout out 🙂
On the upside, you simply cannot buy promotion like that!
Aside from anything else, BBC behaviour has been shamefully sleakit and cowardly. Not one member of management has had the guts to deal with Stu or even make a statement which might help their own employees understand what’s happening.
They emerge from this episode covered in shite.
Would very much like to have seen these papers do half an hours work and see what pro-union channels were still operating complete with clips from BBC channels.
Perhaps I’m being cynical, but could it be a dry run to gauge response and get timing info? Just because you’re paranoid…
Well, well, well. They’ve finally complied with their own rules, just shows what a bit of external pressure and publicity can do.
Bad publicity for Youtube but especially bad for the BBC, all of which is good for Wings Over Scotland and it’s main cause of exposing MSM lies, spin, omission and now censorship.
Well done Rev, a lot more to come and I’ll bet the original complainer to the BBC just wishes now they’d not put their green ink pen to paper and made such a fool of their beloved BBC and boosted the profile of Wings Over Scotland.
Spectacular own goal! LOL.

The britnat media, their so-called journalists, are an utter disgrace.
Sure, you have more pressing things on your minds, but did you ever reach such mindless guff as this? (Yes, I know it’s the silly season and yes, you probably have, but in keeping with knowing how some of our opponents think, I share it with you.)

”Even in the summer news drought, and despite the intervention of the longest-serving and most recent former First Minister, the Daily Record, the Guardian, the Times, the Daily Mail and the Express are all still turning a blind eye so far ..”
Oh well, big, big mistake on their part too. They seem to forget that around 50% of Scots support Independence and closer to around 100% will support Freedom of Speech.
It’s the blatant bias and their lethal lies that are bringing them down. Pleased to hear that the situation has ”improved” somewhat Stu. Just sorry that you had to / are having to put up with this. Let’s see what happens next. Meanwhile a big thank you to the National newspaper in Scotland and to people like Alex Salmond.
@ Big Jock ” Are the media creating the news on behalf of rich individuals and groups? ”
I would agree and disagree – for example the anti-Semitism row hasn’t touched the rich Tories since business links and the Jewish lobby are well established there, as in Congress.
The problem for Labour is that it’s tried to separate anti-Semitism from anti Israel sentiment. So there’s an existential problem since world-wide, including in England, approximately 65-70 % of people of Jewish origin consistently support a Zionist State.
Therefore there’s a power struggle in Labour ranks which ( and here I agree ) the Media are using to foment trouble. Just have a read of, for example, the Telegraph’s reports over the last month.
Following lead of SCOTLAND’S INDEPENDENCE REFERENDUM PARTY yesterday, former SNP leader Alex Salmond today calls on BBC to answer its move to censor You Tube feed from Scots independence web channel
See; link to tinyurl.com
And watch Salmond’s speech; link to tinyurl.com
This does indeed not just show blatant bias on the BBC’s behalf in terms of ‘selective’ shutting down of their clips only on certain websites but also the deafening silence of those who went batshit crazy regarding Daisley, Torrance etc and shows them and their actions (or lack off) to be nothing to do with free speech, freedom of press etc but an unionist agenda that suits their narrative. Free speech and press for all unless you support independence it seems. makes them look like the untrustworthy fools they are.
I’ve just subscribed to the Rev’s YT channel. The bigger his YT channel ‘audience’ the bigger a player he becomes with YouTube/Google on that platform and they will perhaps think twice about being so hasty in taking it down in future. YT channels with large subscriber numbers generate more cash for YT and so, while they still have to abide by YT rules, T&Cs etc, YT would handle them more ‘sympathetically’ – which is to say they would be unlikely to rush to shut down the entire YT channel as they did with WoS.
So let’s get the Rev’s YT channel subscriber numbers up. Click on the YouTube link near the top of this page (on right). This will take you to WoS YT channel. Click on the RED ‘subscribe’ button on the YT page (you’ll need a Google account to subscribe).
Subscribed to your you tube channel as I am sure many more will.

@ Welsh Sion says at 11:26 am …. ”Guardian article … ”Sure, you have more pressing things on your minds, but did you ever reach such mindless guff as this?”
Thanks for the link Welsh Sion. A load of mindless guff right enough.
Martin Kettle: ”…At the risk of employing national stereotypes, all the UK countries have much to learn from the Irish Republic, which seems in many ways to be more at ease with itself than Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England – England above all…”
The Irish Republic ”more at ease with itself.” I wonder why that is? Eh? Duh!
The article on the BBC website is illustrated with a shot from Poldark on You Tube.
Honestly, guv, we woz just trying to stop peepl putting our popular shows on their channel.
This story isn’t going to dissipate – it’s going to run until we get an answer from BBC London as to why it got involved in the shutting down of two Scottish independence websites over BBC material that was neither offensive nor in breach of any rights.
The incident fell just short of State censorship, and considering that the BBC is part of the control of the British Establishment and Government, this only endorses in most people’s minds, that the British State is not a fair democracy. The two pillars of the BBC; impartial and non-biased have been shown to be an illusion. By shutting down opinion on Scottish independence, the BBC made it clear that the upheld ideals of freedom of speech and opinion which it claims to hold dear, simply do not exist. The BBC became political at this point when it took action against those that offer a different political view to the British State. It therefore, is no different from the old Soviet style of censorship and its political newsfront Pravda.
Questions have been asked and answers are needed from the BBC. To refuse to do so, also implies that democracy and freedom of speech are just bywords within the British State, and therefore that State is not so very different from the old Soviet regimes that once ruled most of Eastern Europe during the late 20th Century.
We await for that response from the BBC.
“Lessons will be learned” – that’s what will be getting promised in emails and phone calls around London this morning. About how to do it differently next time, and avoid this huge own goal.
On our side, we should take this episode as a warning, and develop alternative channels of communication and backups.
Once bitten, twice shy. Never trust those who have attacked you without warning.
The idiot who dreamed up this little wheeze obviously knows nothing about Games Theory.
QV Zero Sum Games.
However, as the old adage goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
Stu as martyr? I don’t think so.
May is cutting short her Swiss/Italian holiday to meet with Macron tomorrow.
A word of advice. The Brexit negotiations are not zero sum.
The English have vastly more to lose than the EU 27.
Keep up the good work Stuart.
Do we really need a crystal ball to guess that someone in Scottish Labour used their buddies in BBC Scotland to initiate action to close down the Rev, who is absolutely killing their election hopes?
This has a distance to run. The Scottish Labour party has very close connections to the BBC as we all know by now, and someone has used that proximity to make a monumental gaff.
Political editor perhaps? She has close ties.
It’s hard to imagine the London establishment and the BBC are this stupid. I’m sure you don’t need told but, keep your guard up
Well done to you Stu. I think without you, a lot of people wouldn’t be able to contain their anger
The extra free publicity aside, they also now know that guys like Alex Salmond ain’t gonna take this shit anymore. The BBC needs faced, head on!

They (unionist media) must long for the days when they could control every word we heard and read. A World in which something didn’t happen if they decided not to report it. Pathe News World
…they still try of course. We have a strange environment in which you can read on the internet about Tory dark money or the power grab post Brexit but scan the Herald, Scotsman or switch on the BBC and the void is amazing.
We have a constant spin on NHS “problems” for example without context.
So called journalists who fail to check basic facts…after all what are the media for?
They try to fool their remaining clients with a fake portrait of balance as a rearguard action. They have an interview with someone reporting facts and another ( usually a ranting unionist) giving an OPINION.
Scottish journalism has now become two voices giving two versions of the same data and calling it balance.
Scottish journalism is taking data about Scotland without context to the UK e.g. NHS Scotland out performing every part of the U.K. and spinning it into failure.
To the Scottish media the average person has less than two legs – a technical truth and probably the Scottish Goverments fault.
Never mind we can have more coverage of any murder / car crash or fire….or a photograph of Ruth Davidson sitting on a dumb animal or Willie Rennie. You can all look to the next Royal event or WW1 anniversary
I’ve just started a petition on Change.org. Probably won’t do any good, but at the very least it’s another outlet to bring the actions of the BBC to the attention of more people.link to change.org
Tune into John Beattie if you want to hear an official comment from the BBC on WoS Youtube takedown NOW.
Not top spot on BBC in Scotland radio. Couldn’t stomach more than 15 mins of J Beattie pretending not to be the Unionist that he is!
Who cares Stu. You have lots of free publicity and more folk signing up to the YouTube channel.
Well done Alex Salmond for your support for Wings and Peter.
You have amazing support for Wings and you’re the talk of the steamie. Well done.
@William j Brown says: 2 August, 2018 at 11:03 am:
… The question is who gave him the order and why.
Aye! Willian … But no one at The BBC London is available to reply to the BBC Scotland’s question. After all they are exceptionally busy during the usual Summer holiday quite period. Oops! BBC Scotland has just announced (12:30), they have something just coming in. I wonder who they managed to wake up?
Beattie just said Ian Small will speak for BBC Scotland.
Tune in folks.
Just signed up to WOS YouTube.
BBC RS. It’s story is changing by the minute. First, about ten minutes ago it said it had asked BBC for comment and no one was available. Now they announce that someone will be available to go through the legal details and help answer questions.
Better than a roller coaster ride!
BBC can’t try to win that court case. If they did, the legal precedent would see YouTube with no option but have all those Unionist accounts stuffed with “the right kind of” BBC clips crashing out of existence, as well as Wings et al. Can’t see the BBC or their tame Yoon YouTube exec letting that happen.
Bullies called out. More power to your elbow Rev.
Bbc spokesperson has just admitted that it was Labour Fairmilehead Councillor Scott Arthur who complained about Wings you tube videos
Before we all celebrate:
What about Moridura?
Hi Stu,
Great work over the last few days/weeks and years.
Just signed up to your youtube acc.
Just a thought some older Yessers like myself may be a bit upset by the headline comment currently showing.
“Fu** you YouTube you hateful hateful c**ts”.
I personally understand and am not offended but others might be put off by the language.
As has been said before ” We need all YESSERS to read all Wings comments.
So we need them all “IN THE TENT”, for the big push when Nocola fires the starting gun for Indy Ref 2.
Keep up the great work and I don’t know how you have the strength to do what you do everyday.
Extraordinary revelation Scott Arthur!!!!
Aha! Nothing to see or hear here ….. oh wait!
BBC to review practice on all political content on you tube but the 13 videos in question are to be reinstated meanwhile.
Nothing about who ‘alerted’ the BBC.
Finger point at Labour though.
Look out for dirty tricks in the near future. 🙁
“Bad week for the BBC” “Stunned by lack of BBC tact”
says pundit.
The best of a bad job and decision taken ‘not in Scotland’
In London.
Nats finally get to say with some justification what the BBC are and the BBC darn Sarf have handed the Independence movement a gift!
🙂 All going along nicely then.
Well done you and thank you Mr Salmond…..what a guy !
Let’s not forget Peter Curran though.
Now if we could only get BBC Rep Scotchland to stop saying ‘so called’ this and ‘so called’ that , more so recently in relation to power grab, then we could all perhaps eventually stop saying that they were a ‘so called’ news programme !!!!!!!
BBC TOTALLY NAILED!
Hi Petra, after I read your comment about IR I went to my wall poster and reminded myself of the 1916 ‘Proclamation’ as posted at the GPO in Dublin and I realised why the Irish are now ‘so at ease with themselves’. We need the same sort of resolve though hopefully without gunboats in the Clyde and Forth blasting George Sq and Princess St to smithereens, like they did to Sackville St (renamed O’Connell St on Independence).
bbc scotland knew about the issue over the week-end. A mess.
Well! that was exhilirating. Don’t know if they will return to the issue on the Media Show. We’re getting UK news now. But Stu will surely get that clip up on his website asap.
Post mortem to follow.
Ian Smart admitted that Scott Arthur had notification from BBC and then complained about WOS who received no such notification.
BBC mirror our political landscape where London won’t speak to Scotland on any level!
This is absolute quality!
Amused.
How much would this sort of publicity cost?
Actually have a sore face from grinning so much
Wee Dr Scottie,
Children should not play with dynamite. 🙂
I listened to it all. BBC backtracking and not sounding good!
Only listened to it when Wingers pointed it out. That’ll be my last visit for a while to BBC in Scotland unless any more about Stu.
BBC struggling to compete with social media ?
Think there’s still work to be done. A long tedious process of moving all the clips not directly related to this site so that complaints about music videos don’t get the channel permanently removed.
Does Youtube allow more than one channel per user?
Looks like Scott Arthur’s wee petard has blown him sky high.
@ Lanarkist, I’m sure it’s a typo, but it was Ian Small, that one you mentioned is a very different nasty piece of work!
Well, I certainly enjoyed that. Eamonn O’Neill just slowly ripping the defending spokesman for BBC Scotland, a new one.
Both him and Anna Burnside agreed you can’t buy this sort of publicity, and the Nats are on solid ground!
Poor, wee (out of the loop) BBC Scotland,
See all that Better Together, Equal Partners business stuff:
How is it going?
@Thepnr
BBC and Mr Arthur were apparently standing in front of the same when the wossiname hit it.
OOFT! 🙄
The Graun doesn’t allow wee piddly cyber Nats to dictate it’s news stories! (Sarcasm!)
Now we know why a certain Labour councilor was so quick to tweet about the BBC-YouTube furore.
You didn’t quite manage to defuse that little timebomb that you made, did you?
BOOOOOOOM. 🙂
I will honest here and say I never knew Stu had a Youtube channel and I have been here for years. I am sure I am not the only one. You couldn’t buy advertising like this.
If the BBC don’t challenge then this will be counted as a monumental cock up. If they do they will come across as agents of the state censoring opposition. Something their rivals like RT will make hay with.
I would not be surprised if someone isn’t in Malcolm Tucker mode at the BBC going “What fuck wit thought this was a good idea?”
Almost feel sorry for Ian Small. (almost)
Having to kid on that this was purely a legal matter which he can’t comment about.
But ABSOLUTELY not political! Aye, right.
The BBC is unaware that anyone else is using any of their output on any other utube channels? Only Pete Curran and WOS? Pull the other one sonny.
And of course Ian was made aware that this was going to happen, he just can’t remember when he was informed!
TBF I thought JB and the others were reasonably even handed.
The downside of all this is Scott Arthur’s youtube videos will be up again.
Will our fearless media ask Ian Murray and Daniel Johnston to condemn their close ally Dr Prof Councillor Scott Arthur for trying to close down freedom of speech.
Having heard Scott Arthur constant heckling of pro Indy panellists during Indy Ref debates (while posing as a non political observer) this doesn’t surprise me.
See if Scott Arthur did instigate this his name will be mud as will the BBC people that colluded with him in the “look some of stuff is gone too”
@Macart
A must watch. This is for Alex Salmond and Rev Stu 🙂
“You’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”
link to youtube.com
So now Peter Curran’s site needs to be restored.
Ian Small was doing his best to explain this as a “purely legal” issue and not NOT poltical at all. But his assertion that the BBC served Stu a take down notice was wrong. Stu got no notice before the site was deleted.
So either he has been fed rubbish or BBC Scotland are still not being informed about what London BBC are up to.
Eamonn O’Neill and Anna Burnside were very forthright in their criticism of the BBC. And judging by his twitter stream, Stu has hugely enjoyed this. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Professor Dr Scott Arthur has some explaining to do too.
I tried to get a comment through on the DMs article yesterday on google buckling under the Chinese government censorship, ‘a dark day’
It was regarding wings being censored by the bbc and how things like this happen in the UK also.
Needless to say it never saw the light of day because of the mails censorship.
Good to see that there’s a sharp rise in people following wings on Twitter, the bbc has, again, shot itself in the foot. Long may it continue.
And still not a word from the Head of BBC Scotland, Donalda MacKinnon. Perhaps she’s on holiday and unavailable for comment. Maybe her phone is not working. Whatever the reason, Donalda will be thinking hard about how to stay out of this.
BTW Hail Alba was replaced by ‘Hail Caesar’ in my last comment. The wonders of predicted text.
Let’s hope that Stu’s name will increase in value through this BBC – YouTube shambles.
Well done, Stu.
Here’s the latest from the BBC on their site:

@Thepnr
😀 LOL
Yeah, about like that.
Well if it was….. Scott Arthur wot did dirty deed I say :
Scott Arthur !!!!!! He who was quoted as “accepting and moving on” when ‘same’ thing happened to him Wahahahaha !
Oh my God this will definitely NOT NOT NOT look good….did he think this through….duh….now let’s chew over this , swallow it and digest it at leisure.
A LABOUR councillor blatantly being duplicitous by acting as a ‘victim’ and ‘hero’….in that he instigated this then states he too was a target ( through his own complaint duh) thus ‘victim’ ……but like a ‘hero’ he took it in his stride by accepting it and moving on…..thus perpetrator of deed decries ‘real’ target WOS for complaining….how contrived.
Oh my Richard Leonard what is Labour in Scotland’s selection process….do you select some candidates from the cesspit of lies agency…..beyond desperate and depraved this is….how low can they go…..pretty low it would seem.
Reap what you sow…..truth will out….this backfired big time and certainly explains what he is a Dr of….Dr of letters…letters of complaint that is wahahahaha.( should not laugh because this is serious shit and deplorable tactics from a supposed elected representative….glad he does not represent me or mine sheesh).
Vote Labour and this is what you get….liars and cheats.
Scott Arthur then?
“Oh dearie me”……how so “Oh dearie me”.
I just knew it would be a good day today.
Thanks Valery, yes a typo.
Finger pointed at someone who then dobbed in Stu. So possibly started by a tory.
Just this minute subscribed to the Wings Youtube Channel.
Now we know why the Daily Redcoat did not cover this story…
They knew it came from within the Labour Party!
So in a nutshell Scott Arthur cooked up a scheme to get wings and Peter Curran shut down on YouTube by contacting the BBC to complain about video copyright content after hiding his own cloned copyright content behind a privacy block and is trying to claim his own site was first targeted by an “Unnamed NAT” in the same manner begging the question how come he had time and opportunity to hide his content while Wings and Peter Curran where totally shutdown without warning or advance notice.
Even worse the representative of the BBC corroborates Scott Arthurs tale of a complaint made against him. Either the BBC are lying on this issue or Scott Arthur complained about himself as well as Wings and Peter Curran.
I cant see any other way for the events to fit even loosely.
And on top of all of that You tube reacted differently to the same complaint in a way that looks politically partisan while the BBC keep repeating they take ALL examples of copyright infringement seriously but ignore many more examples still active and running on You tube.
This is the stuff conspiracies are made off.

Good. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander as the saying goes. Youtube need to keep that in mind.
The BBC an arm of the Britnat state are a disgrace, it’s sad really.
Have a good day Stuart and all on WOS.
I wonder if this has anything to do with your court case against Dugdale?
@Mike
I think you’re referring to Ian Small who was a guest on the John Beatie show. As far as I know he has no connection to the BBC but is a lawyer with connections to Labour in Scotland.

I made an arse of that. Sorry he is part of the BBC.
Bloody Hell, it’s just getting better by the minute!
The Nutty Professor has only just gone and denied he made any complaint against Wings!
Well done John Beattie and co.
I almost felt sorry for Ian Small having been thrown in at the deep end when London refused to put up a spokesperson but then I remembered his past sins. All he came out with was a load of unconvincing waffle.
I hope this doesn’t mean John being sent to join Izzy Fraser and possibly Gary Robertson in BBC Scotland’s Limoges Branch.
Maybe this Ian small?

Oh Nana
That poor Prof Scott getting called “a sad wee grass”.
*sniggers*
It’ll be interesing to see whether Professor Doctor Counciller Scott Arthur reinstates his videos any time soon. If he really was served with a take down notice then they will have to stay taken down.
So many unanswered questions.
Well I don’t feel one bit sorry for BBC Scotland and it’s employee’s.
The London lawyer’s know fine well who and what the Spectator is,they would have hesitated to attack it’s YouTube channel.
If BBC Scotland had been doing its job properly these last few year’s.
The London Lawyer’s would have known there had to be a political angle to complaints against Wing’s, they would have known that Wing’s is a huge part of the political scene in Scotland!
Aye, BBC Scotland could have told them…. but it’s their own duplicity that caused the London mob to never think to ask!
Aint Karma a big bitch!!
Oh dear, Cllr Scott Arthur is denying it was him and stated that he has been in touch with BBC legal and has asked them to issue a statement making clear he hasn’t complained to them about anyone’s Youtube channel.
Love the reply from this guy though.
“How is it that you are in contact with the legal department of the bbc yet wings over Scotland has been unable to get in contact with them .
Also why was no one from the legal department at the bbc was willing to explain why they’d chosen to attack WoS on radio Scotland with you.

Just read the Dr Arthur tweet and had a glance at who he follows. For a socialist was surprised to find at number two in the list this creature.

Probably just keeping an eye on what he’s up to. I guess.
This story has lot longer to run. We need to discover exactly who leant on the BBC in the first place. I seriously doubt the BBC initiated without a very influential nudge. It’s great publicity.
Don’t feel sorry for Ian Small. He’s the same piece of work that tried to get Prof. John Robertson sacked.

Eh! Oh well, ha, ha, ha, that’s a turn up for the books. Not. And for a lawyer? his timing was well out with a Court case on the go between Stu and a member of the Labour Party. Let’s see where it all goes now. What’s Mr Arthur of the Labour Party in Scotland got to say about that? COOEE, where are you. Oh, I see he’s on Twitter saying that it wasn’t him. So COOEE, BBC, back to you. What do you have to say about that?

@ Auld Rock says at 1:00 pm …. ”Hi Petra, after I read your comment about IR I went to my wall poster and reminded myself of the 1916 ‘Proclamation’ as posted at the GPO in Dublin and I realised why the Irish are now ‘so at ease with themselves’. We need the same sort of resolve though hopefully without gunboats in the Clyde and Forth blasting George Sq and Princess St to smithereens, like they did to Sackville St (renamed O’Connell St on Independence).”
Yeah we do need the same sort of resolve for Scotland Auld Rock, to find ourselves at ”ease”, and of course I can’t wait to hear our ”Proclamation.” ”Resolve” without the terrible battle and misery that the Irish endured. Just a wee tick in a box, folks and then we’ll rename Cumberland Street in Edinburgh the ”Stuart Campbell Way.”
poor wee bbc
pathetic so they are
nae brains, nae common sense and worst of all – nae comedy!!

Freedom of speech is at a crossroads with the Scots giving the British Establishment a bit of a challenge to their overall media control.
We will not be silenced.
Keep up the good work Rev. We are all with you on this as part of the long run until we succeed.
Robert Peffers re SSR and/or 77 brigade.
I would be deeply disappointed if this site were not being watched and/or infiltrated by those wee nerdy 007 wannabe types.
We are after all intent on breaking up their little Union. No more Union Jacks, no more Rule Brittania, no more Orange Order….etc
How very dare we
@Valerie
oh dear he’s digging in, someone should take away his spade 🙂
@Thepnr well well now that is one bad ass to follow, but he’ll likely deny it.
Quote from Cllr Scott Arthur.
I have been in touch with BBC legal and asked that they issue a statement making clear I have not complained to them about anyone’s Youtube channel.
So who is telling lies.
@Robert Peffers
Ex BAE employee and Britnat Labour MP Paul Sweeney is a member of Her Majesty`s forces,
used to be in the 32 Signal Corp same as the Scarlet Pimple(nel) Ruth Davidson,
his connections with the Labour party the Army and UK`s biggest arms producer makes me wonder where his priorities lie,
and which one he takes his orders from.
@Thepnr
That’s interesting I though he was introduced as a voice for the BBC in London if he is a Lawyer with connections to Labour then clearly Scott Arthur is lying about being the first victim and is in fact the ONLY instigator.
Yet this is still a conspiracy involving compliance by the BBC and YouTube. The BBC cant justify the position where they claim they treat all examples of copyright the same way and neither can YouTube because both have demonstrated a difference in attitude and action on political bias grounds.
For the BBC and YouTube to be credible they should have gone after more than just 2 pro Indy sites.
Its a blatant unmistakable piece of political shenanigans involving the Labour party the BBC and YouTube.
Maybe YouTube were simply impressed by the BBCs status and acted because the BBC are influential relative to Wings and Peter Curran. Either way YouTube needs to revise its own procedures instead of just shutting somebody down without contacting them first to voluntarily take down the designated offensive material.
O/T Are you listening Tory-Labour-LibDem MSPs?

“New mothers in the UK should all be given Finnish-style baby boxes to reduce the risks of unsafe co-sleeping, the Royal College of Midwives has said.”
“The cardboard boxes, which come with essential items such as clothes, books and blankets, can be used as beds.
They are provided for all new babies in Scotland and in some parts of England.
Extending the scheme would provide all babies with a safe space to sleep and particularly benefit those from deprived backgrounds, the RCM said.”

@Mike
You must have missed my next post, I got it wrong apologies for the misdirection.
What have we learned / confirmed from this fiasco.
BBC Scotland (like Scottish labour and the Scottish Tories) are merely a branch office of the London establishment. Not consulted just told what to do. A bunch of sub subservient lick spittles.
Donalda MacKinnon as the head off BBC Scotland sent out Ian Small to take the flak. Loves the salary, the position but sends a patsy out to defend the indefensible. If she had any backbone she would resign as whatever credibility she had has disappeared like snow of a dike.
Where is she?, probably in the same place as Rooth the mooth. Both unavailable for comment. This happened on her watch, she should man up and take responsibility.
Ian Small had obviously not been fully briefed re the legal side of things. A good get out for not being able to explain the timeline of all of this and the repercussions.
He stated that the notifications with youtube would be withdrawn this pm. He / the BBC were not doing Wings any favours. He / the BBC knew if that didn’t happen they would have been flooded with notifications by Wingers for every political party and newspaper in the uk resulting in ALL of them being taken down.
In independence circles it was always well known that the government funded and backed BBC was biased, what has happened over the last few days confirms to many more people of the ingrained incestuous relationship of the government and the BBC.
The BBC is controlled and financed by the government of the day to put out the “British” message to the plebs.
WoS has gotten publicity to die for. You could not buy what Stu has got after the last few days. He has glaringly exposed the BBC inherent bias to an astonishing level.
Many people may not have heard of WoS before but they do know, and I assume that they will be visiting the website just to see what its all about. Priceless publicity.
Its difficult to see where a BBC backlash will come from but i am sure that they will try something. They should accept that they have been caught out big style and suck it up.
It will be interesting to see what stance the Brit Nat print media will take tomorrow. Their profile over this issue has been lower than a snakes belly. I’m sure they will jump on the “freedom of the press bandwagon” now that WoS has done done the graft for them. Bunch of arseholes who fool nobody.
Dave McEwan Hill – for my friend from a previous post.
I am so glad I am on your “list”. You sound like the bloody Stasi. I know what the Stasi did as I was stationed in Berlin in the 1960’s and spent a lot of time in East Berlin at the height of the cold war. As i said in a previous post just because you don’t like my post does not make it invalid. Just grow up and behave.

This is the stuff conspiracies
Or maybe just cock-up. Or maybe a cocked-up conspiracy?
Any sign of this disgraceful assault on free speech in the metropolitan broadcast and print media?
I doubt it very much.
If only WM wasn’t in recess.
Since day one I’ve forwarded a few of the good ones directly
to Susan Wojcicki the CEO of Youtube,no relplies but hopefully some effect
Willie Rennie is so lightweight that he’s gonnae blaw away some day like wee powder-puff!
Not a mention on right-on Channel 4 this evening, despite there being a piece from Glasgow featuring first-time-buyers and the interest rate increase.
C4’s “man in Scotland” leaves much to be desired – like someone who knows what the fuck is going on in Scotland.
Thanks Stuart for your perseverance and standing firm for Scotland!
You are back. With a big support and SM covered it.
BBC and which ever politician pressured youtube are now on the back foot.
I hope someone whistle blows on who did get the BBC to do the copyright challenge.
Someone VERY high up did this, but the BBC have stuck to the line about ‘receiving a complaint’ although that doesn’t necessarily mean it was outside the organisation, but I imagine it DOES preclude this being an ordinary member of the public, or even one who happens to be a Tory MP.
Someone has made a phone call (no paper or e-mail trail) to someone high-up enough in the BBC to instruct a Lawyer to scare the shit out of YouTube. I can only imagine that YouTube go against their own rules ONLY when someone has put the fear of God into them.
Very high up, very powerful. This happened within a day or two of the BBC being embarrassed by a good interview by Stuart. SOMEONE didn’t like that, someone with a LOT of power, enough to get the entire BBC to comply with what THEY want. How high in the BBC do you have to be to actually carry this out? Who do you have to be to MAKE that person actually DO that?
[…] BBC spokepeople are trying to put a brave face on a nasty fiasco. It’s worth the listen. This second link covers the fact that YouTube have re-instated the channel and links to all the stories and […]
Of course, these things, the attacks, the legal actions, the lies happening on a near daily basis COULD just be a series of coincidences.
It IS possible for a series of coincidences to occur. In the study of Statistics, the ‘Cluster Effect’ explains things like a run of good luck in Roulette or, equally, a run of BAD luck.
However, if this were the case and it WAS just down to coincidence then either you need to run out and buy lottery tickets EVERY week because surely that BAD luck will turn GOOD or conversely stay at home lest you be hit by a falling whale a la ‘Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy’
Luckily it ISN’T ‘luck’ it IS a sustained campaign by someone’s ‘dirty tricks department’ or several ‘someones’ more like.
But I don’t believe this is the end of the chapter on YouTube, the ‘review’ that has hurriedly been come up with(?) will do something more subtle and insidious I believe.
If the BBC and those who wish only to have a narrow view of our world portrayed wish it, they will use and abuse things like rules on radicalisation to prevent ANY access to their news output. If they do this I can see other channels having to comply via their license agreements. Already pressure has been brought to bear on channels with ‘Press TV’ having been shut down completely and now ‘RT’ being pressured and threatened (they are much abused and maligned on the BBC and it is NOT factual reporting by BBC it is vitriolic attack)
It’s east to ignore them shutting down voices you don’t agree with, as many don’t even appear to have noticed ‘Press TV’ having been forced off the air, and they also appear not to have noticed that ‘RT’ is under threat of it’s license and has also had it’s assets frozen too, at times. But when they get away with that, they are emboldened and will begin to shut down the more mainstream dissenters.
I have been heartened to see SOME concern from SOME of what I’d consider more mainstream voices on this. Of course, those who have already been silenced by ‘chilling effect’ will say nothing, thay’ve already capitulated…
One wouldn’t wish The Rev to have more trouble, but the potential of the world’s biggest-ever legal crowdfund crossed my mind. As with Ms Streisand, any attack on the freedom of the internet would gather a lot of support very quickly from many directions, I feel.
Maybe the Beeb thought of this.
