I listened to Lord George Robertson of Port Ellen on radio shortbread yesterday expounding his theory that Ricky Leopard was a dud. Advising him from on high he was.

It may well be true but who else have they got to step up… šŸ™

    Nail, hammer, hit, as usual.
Mcleish was on Radio Shortbread wittering on as usual, and avoiding the two obvious questions:

Why is Scottish labour so afraid of championing indi. ref. 2?
If you want a new leader, who would be best in the job?

Insted he rambled on about “federalism”. Aye Right!

Great cartoon – warbling to an empty theatre – with non elected Lords complaining – they should look in the mirror.

Who else is there for labour leadership – James Kelly and then everyone could see what an ass he is.

Jenny Marra certainly has RD’s brass neck.

Ian Murray – ape the Tories after all they have done that for everything else.

Mr Leopard has been there for three years, one of their longer serving branch managers. It has taken them their time to notice he isn’t setting the heather alight, or is it simp!y revenge of the Blairites time?

Somehow it all reminds me of the film Night of the Lepus.

As an aside I have seen UB scrawled on lamp posts, signs and benches. Yesterday I saw Union Bears sprayed unhelpfully on a retail industrial site map blocking out the info I needed. I had thought UB stood for Utter Bam (I may not be wrong) but is it Ricky Leopard and team and their new revitalised Labour strategy?

Brilliant Chris. Was it not the group Survivor who made “Its the singer not the song” a top chart hit?

Survivor I would suggest is not what Leonard will end up as.

    Well done Chris.

The SNP are morphing into Scottish Labour.

Sturgeon can’t see it yet, but outsiders like myself can see it alright.

Like the SNP, power went to the head of Scottish Labour’s leadership.

Like the SNP, Scottish Labour thought they could go through their term in government without taking the electorate with them.

Like the SNP, Scottish Labour are divided from within.

Both have leaders who think they know best.

Both have leaders who think they don’t need to listen to anyone.

Both leaders believe in Devolution ahead of Independence.

And more importantly, both leaders have english grannies. (Probably the root cause of why they both oppose
    Scottish Independence).

Last week’s ‘creme de la creme’ edition, is printed out and on my fridge door. Come the Indy2 campaign, am printing off as many of it as I can and going to deliver them all round my toon!

Sturgeon will look to disillusioned Scottish Labour members and encourage them to join her rag tag bunch spineless gutless SNP Scots.

The only criteria required is that you never mention the word “Independence”.

If caught using the “Independence” word, your SNP membership will be terminated with Immediate effect.

    With no right of appeal.

The SNP Dictator Sturgeon, is particularly tough on this ruling. She won’t be diverted away from her goal of keeping Scotchland British.

Agreed in spades. No party democracy? check. Taking voters for granted to herded into SNP 1&2 regardless every 5 years? check. Otherwise fed platitudes while ‘their’ govt does the bidding of others? check. MSPs Whipped to within an inch of their lives? check.

And finally sofa govt with Yes First Minister ministers, all decisions made on the sofa? Check.

It’s like the disappointment Blair’s New Labour turned out to be. GRA, Hate Crime, No Indy are Iraq war, too chummy with Bush, ‘relaxed about people getting rich’.

Excellent summation of Labour in Scotland, a brand that is dying more each day. They are reduced to second fiddle unionist flag wavers defending a corrupt and tarnished union. Here is my tuppence worth on the crisis of ‘Scottish Labour’: Richard Leonard’s failure to see the independence movement as the progressive force for change it is, represents his and Labour in Scotland’s Achilles heel. He will inevitably be forced to relinquish his leadership role by non-entities within his own party in Scotland who would struggle to be recognised in their own households let alone the wider community in Scotland, such is their lack of impact on Scottish political life.
