One future, two visions

Posted on June 17, 2012 by

From this morning’s Telegraph: the Union option.

From this morning’s Sunday Herald: the independence option.

The Conservatives, Lib Dems and Labour back option 1. The pro-independence parties (SNP, Greens, Socialists, Solidarity) all back option 2. It’s up to you.

What is the benefit to us of having a non-independent nuclear deterrent?

It earns us a place on the UNSC, from where people like David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, John Major and Margaret Thatcher have been able to spout their ideas for how the world should be, and then vote the way America “advised” .

And that benefits you and me by…. erm…

Can I get back to you. I need to do some thinking.

How about membership of the Nuclear missile talking shop.
Membership of the “don’t do as we do do as we say” club.
Regular chances to suck up to whoever is the American president.
Nuclear weapons that cost the earth which no one will ever use.
    Illegal wars.
Membership of the American puppet club.
Become a storage facility for Nuclear weapons.
Become a target for anti American organisations.
Be the deaf, dumb and blind kid at International arms talks.
Get to spend £ Billions on W.M.D.’s

I think that might do as starters. 😆

Oh, almost forgot. We’d become a MAJOR seller on E-Bay! 😆

It’s so clear cut and obvious that independence is the right way to go for so many reasons that I am half hoping for time to whizz by up to the big vote and half dreading that the turkeys will vote for Christmas. I see these articles, the endless array of negative spin and mud thrown by the politicians and media and I can see why it has been such an uphill struggle. I think things are looking better now than they have before as far as odds or the right conditions go. The internet is such a powerful tool. A party in power that almost all the media hate or are biased against and all the major parties (with all their backing and funding) are also trying to stamp them down and tar them.

It really does feel like I’m going to see what could likely be the biggest event in Scotland within my lifetime and the biggest event that impacts me directly.
I can’t imagine the joy and celebrations should the YES get the win it deserves.

[and likewise I cannot imagine the horrors for the next 30+ years awaiting should the NO end up winning and the long wait for the next chance]

  4. We cant afford a no,and must ensure a yes vote. The game is dirty, its not getting dirty it is dirty, but I don’t think we should drop down to the level of the gutter, just be ready to pour the truth all over them.
