Brilliant!

That’s how self-destructive a belief system can be. Especially if it’s a strong belief in something as shitty as British Nationalism. 🙂

That’s fine, Mr Mundell if you chose that path so bet it. But don’t you dare expect us to follow you. Your BritNat blinkers may not allow you to see them, but there are (still) other options.

Hamish100

Surely he is allowed to ask for forgiveness and repent?

Nah the right wing Tories don’t believe in such things.

Ken500

Champagne and canapés while sanctioning and starving people. Wasting £Billions There are no words but Brexit, Brexit. To ruin the world economy. The race to the bottom. £ depreciating all the time. Soon be a GE. The only Tory in the village again. Not the feeble fifteen.

Mundell, the sad wee shambles of a man, wholly subservient to English colonial control. Happy to sell Scotland into hard brexit, food shortages, cancelled shipbuilding orders, and destroyed industry. Happy to take away opportunities for Scotland’s young people – all at England’s bidding. He pretends he didn’t see the Scotland vote overwhelmingly rejecting brexit.

Mundell and his pro brexit ilk in the Labour and Tory parties will have a well deserved place in history, for they are the craven pathetic people, who will be remembered for almost destroying England Scotland and Wales, and turning them into third world countries – ALL in the name of English xenophobia and racism.

What he and all his ilk have done and are doing is truly awful. Wilful destruction of all we have on the back of an English vote for brexit, which has now been shown to be corrupt, unfair, criminal and manipulated. , Corbyn, farage, May, Johnson, Gove, all of them, every single one should be in prison.

Down in England, people are deluded by the somewhat infamous ‘it couldn’t happen here’ mindset. ‘we are England, they say, of course we won’t run out of food, or have a collapsed economy’. Yet many of us can still remember when a Westminster government took out its begging bowl and went to the IMF. It happens, it DID happe, as all as those down in England might say ‘In England’s green and pleasant land’.

Even Thatcher for all her faults, and her open hatred of many aspects of the EU, recognised the utterly mad stupidity of leaving the single biggest trading market in the world. I see so many Tories nowadays who do not seem to know that, yet she often explained in her speeches just WHY the EU was necessary.

Mundell is first in the line, ‘one cross each, line on the left’.

McDuff

Says it all Chris
I just don’t understand why so many Scots have this near hysterical loyalty to the Union when it keeps kicking them in the face. You can trot out all the usual reasons why, but i still don’t get it.
It must come from a deep rooted feeling of inferiority, the need to belong and follow something bigger more important.
Whatever the reason I stll can’t fathom why they choose darkness over light.

McDuff at 0758am,

The reason is simple, propaganda. Their are still people in Scotland who think the BBC is impartial and ‘it isn’t allowed to be biased’. Seriously, they still think that.

But, it isn’t their fault. Even I fell for a lot of it when I was younger. When I was a boy, we were constantly told by the ever so ‘balanced’ BBC, that Scottish oil was worthless, not very good quality and is ‘running out’. They even were still saying that in the 70’s and 80’s. They still try to make people think that to this very day. They omit good news and only ever focus on something which makes Scotland need England. And then we had their blatantly biased propagandist coverage of indyref, which would have put cold war era pravda to shame.

Most folks pay little heed to politics. They see headlines and little else, so it isn’t their fault they don’t know. The blatantly pro English rule newspapers and propagandist BBC make sure they keep thinking Scotland is rubbish and can’t survive without England. They have been doing this for over three hundred years.

Slowly, people are having their eyes opened, and once they do, they support Scottish independence. THAT is the big difference between ordinary folk and Mundell, as Mundell knows the truth, he knows England is literally shafting Scotland, yet for his own career and set of ermine robes, chooses to sell Scotland out. Their is a word for such a person, but this site doesn’t allow it to be used, so let me put it another way – Mundell is an out and out Massey Ferguson to Scotland. The lowest of the low – and he will be remembered as such.

Steambam

Thank you Chris.

In the midst of all the doom and gloom you’ve given me a genuine LOL moment. And what a superb representation of Mundell – Scotland’s own wee sleekit cowerin’ tim’rous beastie.

His motivation other than financial reward and a seat in lords, appears his main concern.

galamcennalath

Superbly sums up the Scottish BritNat cult mentality.

I reckon most 2014 NO voters made their choice based on what they believed was best for themselves and their families. I personally think a great many of them were wrong and perhaps more recent events confirm that opinion – I hope they will be changing their minds!

However, that leaves the hardcore BritNats who seem to be the archetypal nationalist cult – ‘my country right or wrong’. It is blind faith in an idea – the idea that there is country called ‘Britain’. There isn’t, there never was.

The United Kingdom is simply not united. Their Union was a sham. While Scottish BritNats might believe in their ‘Britain’, in England they mainly see just England. Their nationalism is such that they feel entitled to encompass everything within reach into a Greater England.

Any Scot who believes there can be a partnership of equals, a genuinely united country across these isles, is a deluded fool. They never see it that way in England, and arithmetic trumps.

Valerie

Great toon, Chris. Hit the nail on the head (sorry)

Ever since Frankie Boyle made “cargo cult” famous, it’s what I see when I think of the Britnat movement.

A lot of noise this week from Scottish farmers, and of course, Indy support pointing out these were the farmers with huge Tory signs in fields.

People working for a living just don’t seem to get they are nothing but collateral damage where Tory goals are concerned.

Fixitfox

All else aside Chris. That is a beautiful piece of art. Should be hung in Kelvingrove Art Gallery. What a pathetic runt that man is. I expect him to be renamed Governer General any day soon.

bobajock

I do wonder if he would just slide off, slimy’n’all.

Capella

I would call it Greater London actually. The Singapore of the north.

The Tories are not concerned about the rest of England either, other than investing in schemes to relocate renewable energy and fish exporting.

The front page of the FT today says that HS2 has already cost the taxpyer £4.1 billion in consultant fees and buying some of the land required. Staff wages and the cost of relocating staff from London is included. Can they not even hire staff in Birmingham?

This is supposed to be a privately financed project. How come the taxpayer is financing it? Does this mean we are paying for it too? Are there Barnett consequentials?

Sorry I can’t archive FT but you can read the article on the front page here:

HS2 rail project costs taxpayers £4.1bn before construction has even started

Indeed. A very wise man, is Frankie ….

“Our new rulers will be corporations. Looking down at Britain from business class, all the party conferences – and the protests marching up and down outside them – will look like little cargo cults. We will be allowed to keep our political rituals because they have an entertainment value, and because somebody needs to give speeches and answer questions. That’s not something our new rulers will be doing. They will be glimpsed only occasionally, stepping briskly into waiting cars. Our elected officials will soon fill a function much like the one the media fills now, as mere agents of a greater power. With no other role to play, our politicians will continue doing what they know: waving to the cameras, forcing a smile, hoping to keep us paying attention to their strange, dull ceremonies.”

…. Brexit is quite clearly the means by which the far right and their corporate masters plan to achieve all this!

I doubt though, that JKR saw loyal BritNat politicians in Scotland as her inspiration for ‘house elves’!

Luigi

Folks,

I’m still trying to figure out the 5% of 2014 YES voters who will now vote NO because they want out of Europe. Do these people really exist? I ask because it just makes no sense. At least with the BritNats like DM, you can understand (sort of) their mentality – a crippling belief system that blinds them to reality. But what of the former YES voters that hate the EU so much they will vote NO??????????

Are they the “Cut of your nose to spite your face” characters?

At least 5-10% of previous NO voters have already the other way. All we have to do is increase this group a bit more and we can leave the noseless ones behind.

Robert Peffers

Mundell is a modern version of those talking dolls the toymakers made that had a wee string hanging out the back. A wee pull on the string had the inner workings say Ma!Ma!

Technology has moved on and Mundell is fitted with a couple of microphones as his ears. He has a CPU in his head and it is programmed to respond to certain words and phrases with pre-programmed answers.

This has been done because his Westminster Establishment handlers just cannot be bothered with all things Scottish so that they don’t need to bother even thinking about anything Scottish.

Effectively Mundell is just like a modern Pinocchio but without the nose that grows if he tells lies:-

Footnote:

Those 5% YES to NO switchers are not BritNats (otherwise they would have never voted YES in 2014). So what gives?

Macart

The British Nationalist mindset all over. That’s a keeper.

Looking over the headlines, I see the media’s attempting to squirm out from under their culpability in the fake news culture. It’s all the fault of data farmers and ruthless political types targeting demographics with shabby campaign pratices.

The media? WE’RE SHOCKED! SHOCKED I TELL YOU! But, y’know, nothing to see here. Nothing to do with us.

Just so any MSM types reading are crystal clear? (and we know you do)

Some folk consider you the worst offender by some considerable margin. You do help create narratives, influence opinion, market and sell the narratives of others in exchange for personal/ideological advantage and/or influence. You are just as responsible for the biblical galactofuck of austerity and Brexit UK as the empathy free vacuums in Westminster.

Given your influence and market saturation, it’s fair to say you should also get to pick up your share of the tab when the populations of the UK inevitably start looking for those responsible. And they will start looking for those answers.

Probably worth noting that a fair portion of Scotland’s population have already made their mind up on your actions. The real problem starts when those you’ve manipulated come to the same realisation and conclusions. Good luck with that.

The Tories sanctioning and starving people. Wasting £Billions on HS2 which will make journeys throughout Britain take longer. A total waste of public money with no business case. The Tory slush fund. Hinkley Point the biggest waste of public money of no value. With far better cheaper alternatives. Westminster unionists dumping their nuclear mess in Scotland. Flying nuclear waste around the world.

Capella

@ Luigi – on the YES to NO switchers.

It’s possible that, lke Alex Neil, they are former labour or left wing supporters who want freedom for Scotland to elect a left wing government. That would be in line with scottish voting trends over decades.

They probably regard the EU as a great big businessmen’s club (which it is, or was) opposed to social justice. That could explain why the Tories were previously pro EU and are now against the EU. The EU has evolved. They are introducing regulation on financial services. No more offshore tax havens for London hedge funds (Philip May). EU Bad.

They possibly hope for a Corbyn victoy in the next UK election ushering in a socialist paradise which Scotland could share.

I think they are wrong bout Europe and wrong about the chance of Corbyn ushering in any sort of socialist policies. Their special relation over the pond would never allow it.

Dr Jim

We’re also doing Democwacy today, it’s fwee and a vewy intewesting concept, would you like some of that?

“Those 5% YES to NO switchers are not BritNats (otherwise they would have never voted YES in 2014). So what gives?”

They are racist.

They don’t like brown people.

They wrongly believe Brexit will mean less brown people.

They oppose SNP immigration policy.

They believe the MSM/BBC BritNat propaganda.

Very good cartoon, but you know the really weird thing, that is so funny on the one hand, but then not so funny on the other, purely because it’s a true reflection of where Scotland now sits politically.

We really have to win this time, no question.

Josef Ó Luain

Mundell typifies that leading section of the Scottish middle- classes who have long-since cornered the the market in social advantage, such as: education, housing, jobs, leisure time and yes, even food.

Whilst their counterparts in Europe and throughout the world have overthrown and replaced their respective old-orders, Mundell’s crowd have chosen instead to be bribed and “feather-bedded” by the Ukanian old-order. The refusal of this ‘drone-class’ to fulfill its historic role has done and is still doing untold damage to Scotland. Barring Scottish Independence, expect more-of-the-same from Mr M and his lazy pals.

The Westminster unionists have wasted £11Billions on smart meters. Another complete waste
of time and money. They banned onshore wind turbines in the rest of the UK, cut investment in solar. Cancelled tidal schemes on the Humber and Swansea. Both much cheaper than nuclear and would produce more energy. Reduced investment in wave, tidal, wind and sun. To waste money on nuclear. Oil & Gas sector taxed at 40% since Jan 2016. Fracked gas in England tax free.

The Westminster crooks cut funding for NHS and education.

The Westminster shambles. Brexit is appalling.

I did wonder this morning… The headline news was all about the ‘fake news’ Facebook and others were using to attack British Democracy and how a group of MP’s had raised the alarm about online content misleading people.

The whole thing smacked of euphemisms and propaganda- now we know why!
They will use this as the excuse for deleting Wings You tube channel and others.

Lock up your mp3’s, WM just got a whole lot more sinister and one has to wonder if some of these ‘new journalists’ the BBC is providing to help out local news sources are part of a new web of espionage, ‘ a new Dad’s Army’ in the secretive war against Independence.

Strange the request should come from the BBC….

galamcennalath

Capella says:

I agree with your analysis. In the last GE a number (forgotten the figure) of 2015 SNP moved to Labour. A near equal number moved Lab to Tory so giving the impression Labour hadn’t changed. The kind of people you discuss stayed at home or voted Lab, more confirmed BritNats move to Tory.

Fellow SNP members who I have talked to who voted Leave say they will vote YES again, but they are more committed than floating SNP-Lab voters.

We need to target all sorts of groups in different ways. One major group in Scottish politics are these left of centre floating voters. They are ones who voted SNP for Holyrood, then Labour for WM a few years ago. They voted YES, then SNP in 2015. Many voted Leave, many stayed at home or voted Lab in 2017. We really need to get them onside firmly for YES, and voting SNP to enable the path to Indy.

They probably aren’t natural social democrat SNP voters and would prefer something to the left. We must make sure they realise UK Labour will never be to the left of the SNP.

They aren’t EU enthusiasts. We must make sure they see that the EU is not the threat to Scotland that WM most certainly is.

We need to get them out to vote, and to vote YES when the time comes.

Fail in this and we risk losing IndyRef2 IMO.

Allowed to march along the main road, holding up the traffic leaving Stirling yet the Indy march had to walk along narrow back streets – bit obvious Stirling Council where your ‘loyalty’ lies.

Capella @11.37am – Sinister news.

This is shocking, but not altogether surprising.

They are scared shitless that the people of Scotland find the truth and will do whatever is necessary to preserve their precious union. Just wait till the date is called – it’s going to get a whole lot worse.

We need to be ready.

Artyhetty

Great image Chris. These people don’t do self harm they do harm to others without a second thought and they have been inhabiting the halls of Westminster for centuries, doing England’s dirty, sleezy work for them to keep Scotland shackled, obedient, poor and begging.

All while the Britnat establishment remove Scotland’s very lucrative revenues and hugely abundant resources, still to this day.

It’s the classic bullying tactic, real powerful bullies employ others to do the nasty on others. They are rewarded with shiney things, then discarded, though in this case, Mundell will no doubt be rewarded with a seat in the HOL’s, and paid at £300 a day for shafting Scotland.

Everyone pays tax, in some way, even the poorest pay VAT.
England’s vanity project, HS2, is being paid for by every single person in Scotland, we don’t get to say ‘no, that’s your vanity project, you pay for it!’

Just as an aside I spoke to someone a couple of days ago, who says that everyone she and family know who voted no in 2014, are voting yes next time. All well off, all have come to realise the damage that the so called union is doing to Scotland.

Dr Jim

MPs leaked document shows Vote leave lied and cheated and broke the law AND committed fraud to influence people and win themselves votes so they want Facebook to be taxed or fined or something because of it

When the police fail to catch criminals we don’t tax them or fine them for not managing to capture the guilty party but these MPs are suggesting that we all know who’s guilty but blame Facebook and make them pay for it

Eh, maybe it’s me, maybe I’m thick or something, what am I missing? It’s not the fault of the Budgie cage because you left the door open and the burd flew away and these Bastirts know it

Deflection much bigly!

jfngw

Oh look the BBC are trying to shut down independence supporting website content that highlights their fake news and bias. Who could have expected this?

This was always their intent with the fake fake news agenda. They and the government want to take back control. That is take back control of want information they deem it acceptable for you to know.

If they think this will stop the criticism then they are seriously misguided, it has reinforced the point that they are under government control.

Sinister indeed, but probably predictable. It’s terrific to know we are getting under their skin.

For all of their broadcasting monopoly, in spite of their unchallenged propaganda and cynical nurturing of Unionist mouthpieces like Ruth Davidson, Brexit is in critical meltdown, the Union is in its death throws, and the BBC is no longer trusted.

All those ‘stigmata’ hailed as miracles . . . .

But.. Who says the nails had to take the person’s weight?

Unlike many traditional religious depictions such as paintings or crucifixes, various modern reconstructions of Roman crucifixion show the victim’s arms tied to the crossbeam, and a supporting block or blocks beneath their feet and/or their crotch.
Not that those measures would have improved things, except in the sense of mechanical support for prolongation of agony.

Horrific.
