you’re doing great, Rev, keep it up 😉
Brilliant performance Rev. So when are you really going to start? That should be something…
See that google +1 button above?
Press it and wings will get better results in google searches.
Even more viewers.
Happy to keep putting the cement on your bricks, and spreading the word…keep it up, Steve!!  ?
Keep on keeping on! Excellent!
“So when are you really going to start?”
Tomorrow.
Tomorrow ?
Can I suggest Tuesday…. otherwise you may just peak to early.
Â
Rev, in the Balkans you always start a new venture on a Wednesday.  I am sure Jezza would appreciate this 😉
Much applause for the Bradbury quote, a personal hero of mine.
Hope your web host is prepared!
Tomorrow never comes!
To say I appreciate your articles is an understatement, but hey, I hate to gush.
Well done, Rev Stu – demonstrating clearly that the pen is, indeed, mightier than the sword.
Yes, excellent quote. All three were exceptional people. Well done Stu, things can only get even better! We will triumph against the these visionless, passionless, mundane servants of the global machine who regard Scotland and her culture as a backwater. Well, lets show them what the true power of democracy is really like on 18th September 2014!
Â
VOTE YES!

What happened to my post?
What post? I haven’t deleted anything.
We are the music makers,
We are the dreamers of dreams.,,,
One man with a dream, at pleasure,
Shall go forth and conquer a crown.
And three with a new song’s measure,
Can trample a kingdom down.
Outstanding.

Keep on truckin’. 🙂
That post. Some sort of glitch in the aether, I imagine. It didn’t come up at all when I hit submit. I know it’s not original, but I’m pretty sure it’s out of copyright!
And then when I typed it again I put in commas instead of full stops, rats.
Sorry, Stu…senior moment…obviously didn’t mean to type Steve… I’ll take 1000 lines
Vote Yes for Scotland!

Bring it on
Â
Hail Alba
Just in from a night out with two good friends. Were two don’t knows, but now on the road to salvation by voting  YES. Pop in here to have a look and discover BRILLIANCE! Says it all Rev. That is what our struggle is all about.
@Morag – That was good.
I’m temporarily foreign and, worst of all, fraternizing with foreigners. Can I still post?
With respect the article… The baseball field out the back of the house was a bad idea; nobody’s turned up, not even to have a look other than some dog walkers when I was out that didn’t bring poo bags. Not sure what on earth inspired that DIY project.
Your website however, is much more inspired.
Jeez it’s hot here. Time for another cold one.
Bill, it was also Arthur O’Shaughnessy, just to be absolutely clear.
Well, if we’re going to get romantic…………….

The Scottish Creed.

We are a people, a nation and a country.
We live here, love here and work here.
We have an identity, a culture and a history.
We have dignity, integrity and self-respect.
We believe in the right of self-determination.
We are responsible for our own.
We are – the people of Scotland.

(RevStu, this is a WIP, sorry if the text is too large)
Just want to add my warmest congratulations.
285,581 unique users, so that’s about 4 million using the better together calculator. Well done Rev Stu.
@Morag – A duet?  Still very good.  Cheers!
Stuart you are a genuine inspiration to me, my fellow YES campaigners and a beacon of hope, humour and withering analysis which puts the MSM to shame.Â
I Facebook share many, many Wings articles to disseminate the message among friends. If this is repeated by other supporters then your impact must be more than you know.
After September 2014 you need some kind of official recognition
After September 2014 you need some kind of official recognition
A pint would probably do the trick.Â
From everyone that’s read and enjoyed the site that is.Â
Read you every day here in SW Va in the US of A.Â
This place is head and shoulders above anything else around! Thoughtful posts and intelligent comments.
I’ve been a WoS reader for quite some time now. This seemed like a good point to drop in and say thanks to the Rev and all those who regularly comment. Informative, entertaining, and one of the first links I follow each day on facebook. And when the YES vote happens, it will have happened because of sites like this. Excellent work!
To serve, to strive, but not to yield. Well done Rev. Stu.

rev stu your in for one hell of a bender,
let the other half you might not be home the night of a yes vote
6.6 million pints barkeep please 🙂
OT Sometimes I think the MSM down south forget they broadcast to us and we have access to the news papers looks like they could ramp up a yes vote without realising it with examples like this.
Can you guess who is missing

Now I want everyone to take a deep breath and stay calm,
The Duchess has been taken into hospital to have her baby,
what did I tell you?
keep the hysterical screaming to a low roar will you? you’ll waken the neighbours
A great article Tattie Bogle
Next time unionists decry Scottish sport ask them when was the last time an Englishman won Wimbledon or the Open Golf.
I only mention this as BBC Radio 5 was in full jingoistic mood yesterday morning claiming that Kenyan born Chris Froome was English and the commentator wanted the Ashes to finish early so that he could watch Lee Westwood walk up the 18th fairway winning the Open Championship.
Mickelson’s pro am round with Alex Salmond must have paid off as he has been unbeatable ever since. Â More stardust.
MSM Â / BBC Â wall to wall coverage of another benefit scrounger to-day.
@johnking…
At the age of 6 I was taken tk walk in the hills by my folks fir a day to escape charles and dianas wedding… I think I may do the same with my bairns today.
3 cheers for Project Fear & the MSM! At least 285,000 people know where to come to see the scaremongering bolleaux demolished within hours, if not minutes. Well done, Rev.
Anyway I got distracted…
Rev. Keep ul the fantastic work.. to quote the Simpsons.. “you’ll soon have more conversions than Methuselah” 🙂
John King ,I have the water boiling ,the towels and scissors ready! I will attempt to curb my enthusiasm but it may burst out in a little ” strewth !another one”
Â
I don’t know what I would do without Wings to carry me on – if I stuck with the MSM I would be putting a poly bag on my head.
Thank you Rev!
Â
Thank you Rev. You keep me going when I begin to worry if we can get there.
@ Tattie-boggle
Â
T-B, that’s just plain mental. Westwood coming joint third in the Open is a symbol of nationhood, while Murray winning Wimbledon not worth a mention? I wonder if it was deliberate or a manifestation of the great English collective subconscious?
Well done Rev and keep up the good work .
I have said it before and I will say it again , it is due to sites like wings that we will win the referendum .
We will never get a fair hearing from the m.s.m or the biased b.b.c so it is up to everyone of us to point the undecided in the direction of wings , newsnet and other pro indy sites .
Wings is now my first port of call in the morning and my last port of call at night .

And when the YES vote happens, it will have happened because of sites like this. Excellent work!
Welcome aboard, couldn’t agree more.
Keep up the excellent work Rv. Stu, together we will win this.
Great stuff. I love the way you dissect the latest Britkak from the Scotsman-BBC double act.
Momentum: we have it, the unionists don’t.
That’s a lot of readers. Best value for money news site around…, wait a minute…,
and I was happy with my 5,000 th visitor! Â no really Wings has been an inspiration and keep up the good work.
Its the way you tell them Stu. Well earned progress.
Carl Sagan was an outstanding scientist, he stated in a thousand years when all the Einstein’s of this world are forgotten only one man will be remembered for his contribution to science.
The Scotsman James Clark Maxwell. Maybe Rev you will be, well you get my drift.
Keep offering the Red Pill.
Well done.  I’m so full of admiration for everyone on Wings, thanks. I also get all my best pro Indy ammunition here and usually a good chuckle too. Win Win 🙂
@spout;
Â
So that’s how Rev does it, plugged directly into the tinterweb?
Of course, we could have the pinnacle of Scottish news like this.

Arf.
Nicely done, Rev. 🙂
Â
As for getting started, things are a bit hectic here at work for the next couple of weeks. Can you start without me, and I’ll catch up when I can?
Sometimes I think the MSM down south forget they broadcast to us and we have access to the news papers looks like they could ramp up a yes vote without realising it with examples like this.
Can you guess who is missing
Â
No one is missing. Unless Andy won a tournament yesterday and I missed it?
It’s no coincidence that 18 July next year is the date for the referendum on independence in both countries.
Â
London produces quality online news like this.
Â

@Jiggsboro
Yeah, but the premise of the article wasn’t just about yesterday:
‘The flurry of sporting victories comes less than 12 months after Britain won 65 medals including 29 golds in the London Olympics and 120 medals in the Paralympics, including 34 golds.
In rugby this month, the British and Irish Lions ended a 16-year wait to seal a stunning series victory against Australia in Sydney.
And in June Justin Rose became the first English golfer for 43 years to win the US Open.’
Â
“for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.”
Â
It is good to know we are not a mere 100 but an army of 285,581, as Doug Daniel says the momentum is with us, come next september Better together will be pushed to get 285,000 votes.
@ Atypical_Scot
Mr West certainly hits ‘House’ in the metropolitan Unionist bingo stakes.
Has the Catalan referendum been settled as 18/09/14? I thought it was still at the arguing stage?
O/T I read in the Herald that Cameron is spending his holidays in the West of Scotland this year. Possibly Jura (Oh the irony!) Time to train the attack midges.
@Iain;
Â
I left a mild mannered comment re. the dates, after brief moderation, it was binned. Screw the facts – they’d have to rewrite at least a paragraph!
@The Man in the Jar;
One last look afore ye go.
ATypical_scot – wow. Is that Spiked article some sort of competition entry where the criteria is to get as many inaccuracies in a published article as possible? I would post on it but I can’t be bothered creating a Discus account.
Like D:ream said, “Things Can Only Get (Even) Better”
Â

Man in the Jar – yes, Cameron apparently thinks that acting like a 19th century feudal lord on his father in law’s hunting estate in the Highlands will endear his Tory soul to our rebel Scotch hearts. Another PR disappointment in store for David Cameron, I fear.
@Jiggsboro
We were working for Yes at the Tomintoul Highland Games on Saturday, one tourist, a German asked “Why is there no news about Scotland on the TV ? I thought when I came to Scotland I would get Scottish news.” He left us later with lots of information to pass on when he got back home.
I’ll tell you the Europeans are very interested in Scotland’s future.
Â
Â
Speaking of British sporting success, did anyone see the Channel 4 News yesterday evening? About 3/4 of the way through the show they had a sports reporter wittering on about great British sporting achievements. Then they did what they all seem to do now and had the newsreader interview the sports reporter about the marvels of British sport. The newsreader mentioned that there was an international aspect to all this “British” success. Yes, indeed, says the reporter; the Tour de France winner is actually a Kenyan, and several of the cricketers playing for the Ashes are from South Africa. Then he said, and I kid you not, many of the players on the recent British Lions tour are actually Welsh, and Andy Murray, who won Wimbledon is Scottish.
Â
So, according to Channel 4 News (and the newsreader did not challenge the reporter or express any surprise when he said what he said), “British” does not include Welsh or Scottish.
@ Ruairidh
Â
Don’t forget that not everyone who visits this site is a yes voter. Â We would of course like the Don’t Knows to see the light.
Rev Stu
Correct me if I’m wrong but from your figures above I make the average daily site views for Wings to be around 34,000 and rising. And from elsewhere the figures for Huff Post in the UK are around 250,000 per day, ie Wings is 17% of Huff. That is a remarkable achievement for a specialist site like Wings.
That is really excellent news. It shows that Wings’ views and support for Independence, which mirror those of most Independistas, are very much getting out there. Wings now has enough clout to mean that it is a must read for anyone interested in Independence. So no surprise that the MSM and the No Boys do not like Wings one little bit as it constantly shows up the lies that they and many of their ‘journalists’ and commentators spread, and that the MSM is not fit for purpose.
Â
Yeah, but the premise of the article wasn’t just about yesterday:
Â
Wasn’t it? Let’s check the first line: “It started with last year’s Olympic heroics and yesterday Britain was coming to accept the fact that we’re actually rather good at sport”. The premise of the article was yesterday’s sporting success. It also brought in some of the sporting success of the previous year. Not all of the previous year, certainly,because the premise was yesterday’s successes, but it was certainly not ‘all of the previous year except the Scottish bits’ or ‘anyone but Scotland’.
“Correct me if I’m wrong but from your figures above I make the average daily site views for Wings to be around 34,000 and rising.“
Because the figures include the start of the year when traffic was lower, the current stats are a bit better than that, but yeah, it’s in the right ballpark.
(Typically around 40K a day now.)
Well done, Rev.
On joybell’s point, how about a survey asking if there are any readers who have switched their voting intention since reading WoS?
@jiggsbro;
Â
Pretty newsworthy win though, probably more notable than all rest put together, not that it should merit note after the 70 odd years of expectation 🙂
@Atypical_Scot
Your comment is up now. Â They just appear to be slow pre-moderators.
BTW I posted my comment before I saw RevStu’s tweet on the same quote.
WOS keeps me sane – thank you 🙂 🙂 🙂
Â
@North Brit;
I see from their comments section there isn’t much support of their ‘views’. 🙂
Mr Crichton, has such, hatred towards the SNP, that its blinded him to the severe failings of his beloved Labour Party.
