These comments opitomise someone making decisions which have no impact on his lifestyle and he is clueless about how the Con/Dem policies are affecting peoples lives who are less well off than him. I also get enraged when they talk about stuff they have achieved and use figures that have not yet taken effect. He can sleep easy knowing people won’t forget the part the Lib Dems played in the austerity programme and I look forward to seeing where he ends up working after 2015.

I suspect he won’t be representing anyone in Scotland!

Good to see at the side of the article that LibDems will be down to 18 seats in 2015; hopefully none from Scotland.

Don’t understand the comments suggesting he might lose from this.  Of course it will pay off for him, it’s why he does it, why all of them do it.  He will keep the salary, the car, the expense account(s), the pension, the innumerable brown envelopes, kick-backs, bungs, ‘directorial fees’ and ex-gratia payments. He looks forward to a golden pension from the House of Lords (which grotesque institution actually exists – it’s not something Tolkien imagined, or could have imagined).

If you’re unhappy about all that then you have to do something to alter the terms in his personal cost/benefit analysis.  High-power rifles spring to mind.  Only kidding.  Or am I only kidding that I’m only kidding?

When people look back on this period of Scotlands history, ie before independence, people like Danny Alexander will will be thought of as the same ilk as a lord Haw Haw, a definite Quisling in my opinion.

Like Lamont/Moore/Rennie/Davidson and many other so called (Scots who pretend to have our nations welfare at heart), history will judge them and as happened to Belshazzar, the writing will be on the wall, history will weigh them and theyll be found wanting.

Jesus …has Danny lost his brain. Talk about making a confession! He’s just admitted to the entire UK that by helping the Tories, the Lib Dems helped pass some of the worst and most unfair policies in UK history.
He can gibber a load of shite about economic recovery, but that is not what the Lib Dems are going to be remembered for. They are going to be remembered for the Bedroom Tax and the slashing of welfare benefits on a vast scale. I can’t think of one Lib Dem policy that somehow enhanced the entire country. No wonder the Tories have a good auld hee-haw at Clegg and his chums. ‘Yes, help us pass this law, and once you do, we most certainly will look at your proposals for better social policies’ (cough, cough …laugh up our sleeves. Sure we will!)
I think quite a few Lib Dem MSP’s in the Northern Islands must be bricking it now after they were found to have gotten it so wrong over the ownership of oil around the Orkney and Shetland islands. The islanders must be seething deep down. They were led down the garden path with flights of fancy of untold riches, only to be told the truth, that the islands have no territorial rights if they became dependencies of the UK. Sure as hell if I was an Islander, I would remember that ‘little mistake’.

I would have said what awfully terrible turncoats, but alas, he and his kind are ultimately opportunists, wolves in sheeps clothing. To actually admit that they haveconspired with the tories, to have signed up to the dreadful backward looking, uninspiring, draining of lifeblood toward their own people, is unforgivable. With not an inch of integrity, and no idea about how to develop and encourage a life affirming and inspired society, they have totally lost the plot, but not sure they ever had it in the first place!  Oh god, let’s hope we will be rid of them as well come September 2014!
