Let’s spread the word to all Scots regardless of language, race, creed or religion!

Brilliant! I want one.

If and when Plaid Cymru (or their successor) manages to get their act together, and Wales is in the fortunate position that Scotland finds itself in, could we Welsh borrow this format, complement it with “lessons learned”, and issue it?

I preumse Plaid already has the WBB, but has anybody actually sent it to Welsh Labour? Would be interesting to hear their view on it, especially as they seem to think they will be involved in the post Yes negotiations, and can Veto any form of currency union.

Ken500

Och aye the noo. It’s a braw brite moon lite nigte le nigte. Och Aye

C’ tal. Comma tele vous. Brava. Non BBC. p’ish

Luigi

Great idea.

YES also has a nice leaflet, for Polish people:

“TAC!”

[no prizes for guessing what it means!]

Nice to see we are reaching many different groups of scots.
Let’s hope our WoS friends in the NW highlands and islands can distribute as many of these WBBs as possible.

7 days!

heedtracker

Phenomenal achievement! The whole UKOK bettertogetherBBC etc monster must be desperate to know why it’s not a 99% No from Scotland.

Also, why no Klingon version?

bookie from hell

I think B.O.S is the only bank that hasn’t stated it’s moving south as a scare tactic

am I right

Debbie

Is this available as one of the cracking wee actual physical books anywhere?

heedtracker

And just been told to HIja Vote! Klingon for Vote Yes. Nerds.

GrahamB

bookie:
They are already incorporated into the Halifax and the joint group is incorporated into Lloyd’s so they are only Scottish in name and effectively a UK bank with branches in Scotland.

gordoz

Well .. I am astonished !

The Scotchman has come out for NO, who’d a thunk it!

link to bbc.co.uk

gordoz

Rev : Forgot to ask – can we leave the Scotchman behind ?

heedtracker

RBS still calling themselves Royal Bank of Scotland is going to be like watching the England support singing Flower of Scotland at Hampden. If Scotland votes we deserve it too.

David Smith

Hah! Who knew? 😉

gordoz

“Its 2,000 page editorial comes after the London-based Financial Times declared itself in favour of “No”.”

Source – BBC website.

Think it might be a bit heavy to pick up; fork lift anyone ?

bookie from hell

being serious,is it possible to start a bank in Scotland, with scottish deposits

my list of boycotts means I have to put cash under my bed

gordoz

@Bookie

Pro Scots should suggest starting a Credit Union called ‘YES’

think of the numbers who would happily switch deposits !

MajorBloodnok

Well done Rev(and whoever translated it).

Les Wilson

Great stuff, should put more in the YES bag.
Thanks for all your hard work Stu and crew!

gordoz

Rev :

Next idea after ‘Wee Blue Book’, Wings Credit Union ?

Not that we want to have a go at major Scottish (?) intitutions or anything like that.

bookie from hell

with you their gordoz

a YES credit union

Keir Robinson

What about a Scots version?

msean

Balanced lineup on Bloomberg here lol,Digby Jones and Paul Cridland,Digby Jones saying the old Shetland oil stuff again, internation law ignorance again lol.

Ellie Mack

The RBS things is actually good news, if they are moving their registered offices then they are moving their liabilities, same with lloyds, that’s a lot of debt which will not be an independent Scotland’s problem (and conversely will be the Treasuries going forward). Time to start a new bank.

heedtracker

Try this one bookie from hell, link to norwaybank.com

It’s a big well regulated secure bank and not one run by super rich fraudsters who make kamikaze pilots look rational either. Although I don’t know if the bosses of this bank are as politically involved with Norway as the jaw droppiingly greedy bankster liars, shills, tax dodgers currently fighting. desperately to shut down Scottish democracy like ours at Royal bank of Scotlandregion.

You have to hand it to all these MP’s, Lords, BBC Westminster and the City crooks.

They destroyed virtually the whole worlds’ economy with spectacular disregard for anyone or anything but their own personal stash and now even bigger con artists at BBC shriek Vote No or same thieving bonus crazed shysters are going to leave Scotland, honestly, trust us we’re the BBC.

gordoz

Wings under cyber spam attack again ?

Gillian_Ruglonian

Great idea on the credit union.
Lets start as we mean to go on and show the world that there is a workable alternative to the elitist out-dated 20th century capitalist model.

Power to the people!

Belinda

Tapadh leibh!

I like Swinney but FGS he was distracted from West Coast oil to North Sea oil by a red squirrel Introduced by L. White. I note the woman did not get to come back in again. In contrast the man Adam, who I have heard before on Your Call ( a NO plant) was given two goes on oil and a long tirade against the SNP and the NHS.

Mr Swinney to much head not enough heart. 🙁

kendomacaroonbar

Excellent initiative Rev Stu. Well done you !

Ken500

The ‘Scotsman’ is carrying £300Million reconstructed debts. Share price at zilch. Stu could probably buy it up in a crowd fund. Wings is more successful. Based in the NE of England, the only thing keeping it afloat is printing Labour Party propaganda.

Herald is owned by Gannet US. A printing/publishing company does business printing UK gov contracts and literature for private schooling organisations, worldwide.

[…] No Scot left behind […]

Indy_Scot

If Scotland does vote No, it will not be because Scotland did not want Independence, it will have been because Scotland was cheated into voting No by the unionists and media. It is absolutely sinful.

Gillian_Ruglonian

Indy_scot I completely agree with you. If the sheep loose us this vote (and therefore our country) I will be inconsolable.

But it’s not going to happen!! Hope over fear!!

Thomas Widmann

A Scots version wad be fairlie! Daed ye see the owersettin intae Scots o the Electoral Commissioun’s voter guide (PDF)?

heedtracker

The UK, or residual UK as Newsnight called it last night is such a secure place for RBS and Standard Life to spend over a billion quid moving to isn’t it?

link to debtbombshell.com

Every year safe secure UK spends a third more than it collects in taxes so at the end of every year, the national deficit of say this years £150+bn gets dumped on the now £.1.3+trillion national debt mountain.

Since the 2008 bankster crash, nothing has been done to prevent the next one, super rich city boys made themselves even richer with the bail out we all have to pay for and their ConDem government has fought off any EU banking regulation or City tax.

And then we have to listen to same BBC shysters tell us Scots oil is a worthless liability and Scotland is not secure.

geeo

O/t but been listening to Swinney on Call Louise….absolutely weak and avoiding question.Had open goal on oil reserves, but allowed labour hack to undermine him. Also failed to emphasise North sea reserves are separate from the Atlantic/West Shetland reserves. Couple of days ago cringed as Blair Jenkins couldn’t answer what Scotland contributed in terms of tax and what we received back from Barnett…Shocking!

heedtracker

Also last night Newsnight discussion on the coming Tory rebellion to sack Cameron with a Yes win but same pundits couldn’t say who’s the Tory stalking horse. Funny that.

geeo

Just done with my latest attempt at changing the mind of our last friend from a No.

Mixed result, he is still a hard No, but he says we have annoyed him so much over the last few months in particular he is fed up with the whole thing and ripped up his ballot paper.

Better than him voting No i suppose!

Haggis Hunter

Tapadh leat Stu

liz

@geeo – he doesn’t need his ballot paper to vote but if he doesn’t know that I wouldn’t be telling him.

In a way it’s good a lot of the ballot papers are away as some soft Yes folk might have been scared into changing to a No.

I agree if it’s a No, we need a massive campaign against the BBC, banks and all the other scaremongers.

These folk have no souls and the fools who are doing their dirty work for them, don’t realise they will be dropped like a hot potato when no longer needed.

I now despise the institutions in this country.
When folk have become a true Yes they will not go back.

Remember Tom Devine only came out recently and you could detect his palpable anger at that dozy Irish woman.

Helen Lidl is another Labour trougher without a single socialist bone in her body.

call me dave

This is an excellent development and most welcome.

One of my regrets in life was to turn down a chance to learn and speak the language when in my late teens.

Also apologies for posting on the wrong thread earlier too angry with BBC. 🙂

Pentland Firth

With both RBS and Lloyds Bank stating they have drawn up contingency plans to move their registered offices south of the border when we vote Yes, once implemented, they would then become rUK banks and, if they lent recklessly and ended up once again facing insolvency, it would be the Bank of England and rUK taxpayers who would be required to bail them out. Scots taxpayers, according to UKOK logic, would get off Scot Free. As one of the main arguments against a post independence currency union is that Scotland’s banking sector is twelve times the size of its GDP (yes, I know it’s a nonsense, but that doesn’t stop the No campaign from asserting it), the removal of registered offices to the City of London would remove the objection. Has anyone of our fearless seekers after truth in the media asked Gideon Osborne or Ed Balls for their opinion? No, I don’t think so either. They are focused entirely on attempting to misrepresent the story in order to scare Scots into voting No.

The impact of where executive decisions are, in reality, made and where banking jobs are located would be so minimal as to be of no economic significance. But can we expect the BBC or any other mainstream news outlet to calm the understandable fears of bank staff and tell the prosaic truth? I fear not. That task will be for people like us.

Iain Gray's Subway Lament

Do we think any of the panicking Labour MPs will have placards that say “Vote No to save my 10% pay rise?” 😉

aldo_macb

Tapadh leat. Actually brought a wee tear of joy to my eye to see this. Mòran taing. Bu Choìr!!!

Footsoldier

Lochside is right, given the stakes we must expect better from Jenkins and Swinney, great guys yes, but I too found it cringing and actually a gift to the No side not being able to answer basics. Some of the questions whether No plants or not deserve a proper answer. JS lacks the jugular approach.

Only thing their responses will do is to turn switherers to No.

Malegria

When my partner saw the picture of the Gàidhlig WBB there he said ‘Where’s the Klingon version?’. Good to know we are in like-minded company with heedtracker and geeo!

Qapla’!

“The Airdrie Savings Bank” is the only totally independent bank in the entire British Isles.

Some commenters need to cut Swinney and Jenkins some slack. Of course they know the answers, from all angles, much better than most others too. But they must be exhausted, making thinking quickly sometimes extremely difficult.

Just remember these people have been campaigning night and day, across the whole of Scotland, permanently on the move, ever at the beck and call of meetings and journalists, never having five minutes to spend with families. I for one don’t know how they have managed to keep it up. Some of them are beginning to look quite haggard (Nicola certainly is). This referendum campaign has been a punishing schedule in which they have been verbally abused and derided non stop, always having to counter hostility as well as arguments. And there is still a government to be run.

A bit more understanding and compassion wouldn’t go amiss, qualities I’ve always hoped we would have in an indy Scotland.

tonymac

read rules sorry about http:// bit

rule 7. Don’t mess up the page for everyone else.

If you post YouTube links with the http:// part at the start, they’ll embed on the page rather than being posted as links. That can lead to this sort of thing. So don’t include the http:// bit or you’ll find your video in the spam bin.
so sorry..

mutters

Wonderful well done Wings.

Tom Foyle

Great thinking, Stu. I doubt if the “other side” care enough about their citizens/supporters/prospective voters to have done likewise with their own campaign material.
I made a wee bet with myself that I wouldn’t understand half the comments this generated.
If I weighted the results the same way BT do, I’ve won the bet.

Methinks the ASB will soon need a good PR company to help with their employment offers..! 😉

So Airdrie will be Scotland’s new financial hub. Well, why not? Could do a lot worse 😉
