Wings Over Scotland is a (mainly) Scottish political media digest and monitor, which also offers its own commentary. (More)
Turkeys singing and chanting are they gobble and jostle to the front of the queue for the Xmas transport to the abbatoir.
Danny’s place in history has already been filled with this:

…so, he can fuck right off.
Danny has his English Westminster seat already lined up, post 2014. This is personal spin for his future. He is laying off his bets.

My young turkey stag started displaying and gobbling today. He must have read the article and he was safe as long as Danny’s around.
As a never again LibDem voter this is simply shocking.
Couldn’t have done what? Destroyed the NHS? Imposed the bedroom tax? Forced sick and disabled people into even greater poverty?
Gosh, thanks Danny! We won’t forget your assistance, don’t worry.
Malegria
Don’t forget the 5p tax on plastic bags!
Bread and Circuses, anyone?
BtP: If they had the courage of their convictions they would just ban the bloody things! Bet they’ve all got shares in plastic bag-making companies or something ;0)
These comments opitomise someone making decisions which have no impact on his lifestyle and he is clueless about how the Con/Dem policies are affecting peoples lives who are less well off than him. I also get enraged when they talk about stuff they have achieved and use figures that have not yet taken effect. He can sleep easy knowing people won’t forget the part the Lib Dems played in the austerity programme and I look forward to seeing where he ends up working after 2015.
I suspect he won’t be representing anyone in Scotland!
It is being reported that an internal party poll has suggested that three quarters of voters will not support the Liberal Democrat party whatever it does.
The Lib Dems are doomed. No one will regret their passing.

Corrected for you. ;o)
“It’s a bold strategy Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for him.”
Jiggsbro: Genuinely lol’d there!
Danny is right, there is a new dawn coming- but just for Scotland!
Roddy:
But it’s coming soon to a country near you if there’s a ‘No’ vote! No doubt Danny would be ‘assisting’ with that too?
ianbrotherhood:
DA obviously has no sense of shame! Can someone please explain the meaning of irony to him?
Danny Alexander: “The Tories couldn’t have done it without us”
Yes, indeed, and we’ll remember that come election time. I just hope you remember to boast of that then.
“Sacrifices have been made and pain has been felt.”
But not by you, you inept, incompetent pole climber.
“But now the first signs of recovery are glimmering on the horizon. Better days lie ahead”
Yes, because Scotland will be going her own way.
Danny wif an “F” is the front-bottom to Sarwar’s Back-bottom.
Apologies to all orifices out there.
Malegria – Indeed!
Had me giggling like a school child.
Like Gidiot he thinks a recovery is in motion; WRONG! It’s still going to get worse before it gets better, and by that time these fools will be on their own, following the YES vote.
Danny Alexander: The smirking poster boy for the dumbest fuckers in the room
Labour abandoned their principles to gain power but at least you knew that before you voted for them. The LibDems will campaign on anything they think will get them elected and then abandon their principles for a share of power. Which is worse?
Good to see at the side of the article that LibDems will be down to 18 seats in 2015; hopefully none from Scotland.
Don’t understand the comments suggesting he might lose from this. Of course it will pay off for him, it’s why he does it, why all of them do it. He will keep the salary, the car, the expense account(s), the pension, the innumerable brown envelopes, kick-backs, bungs, ‘directorial fees’ and ex-gratia payments. He looks forward to a golden pension from the House of Lords (which grotesque institution actually exists – it’s not something Tolkien imagined, or could have imagined).
If you’re unhappy about all that then you have to do something to alter the terms in his personal cost/benefit analysis. High-power rifles spring to mind. Only kidding. Or am I only kidding that I’m only kidding?
Of all the Lib Dems Danny has looked the most comfortable being in bed with the Tories. He seems to have actually relished some of this stuff.
Isn’t that a mug you could never tire of slapping?
oh so o/t
EXCLUSIVE: How David Cameron knew of Princess Diana ‘murder plot

If this turns out to be true this could be the beginning of the unraveling of the UK even without the Scottish referendum
Juteman says:
Couldn’t put it better.
Would love to see ‘Beeker’ get stuffed at any election, can’t believe folk vote for this smug ‘Stealth Tory’ ‘gold digger’.
Heres a school photo!
Yet another Bateman expose http://derekbatemandotnet1.wordpress.com/2013/09/14/better-together-takes-on-the-beeb/#comments
Aye Stu
And this is not the only article Beaker has on the Tory Telegraph.
In a further interview with DT he says that he supports the Private Sector handing out pay raises but Public Sector workers should sling their hook and enjoy the crumbs they are given.
Mebee this is another dividend for Scotland staying in the screwed up Union.
The man is just a numpty. We will remember that his party have helped the Tories at this time of austerity. You can only hope that he can see the irony of being out of work at the next election. Or hopefully when we vote YES he will see the writing on the wall. He is nothing but the minion to carry Osborne’s briefcase. And the only thing in there is his sandwich!!
The weekend the 10k donation to his office was in the papers he walked into the wee gift shop at Loch an Eilein near Aviemore with his family (probably hiding). The only day for ages I haven’t had a YES tee-shirt or sweat shirt on. I was gutted.
He didn’t sound like his constituents that’s for sure.
When people look back on this period of Scotlands history, ie before independence, people like Danny Alexander will will be thought of as the same ilk as a lord Haw Haw, a definite Quisling in my opinion.
Like Lamont/Moore/Rennie/Davidson and many other so called (Scots who pretend to have our nations welfare at heart), history will judge them and as happened to Belshazzar, the writing will be on the wall, history will weigh them and theyll be found wanting.
“Yes, indeed, and we’ll remember that come election time. I just hope you remember to boast of that then.”
Hopefully Come election time There won’t be a seat for Danny to stand for.
Re. Lamont/Moore/Rennie/Davidson, ect., ect……
A ‘nexus of numpties’, or is that ‘Better Together’?
Listening to LibDem president Tim Farron at the conference passionately talk about a fairer society, immigration, and protecting the vulnerable made me wish they were a part of the Westminster Tory government.
He maybe should have stopped after his opening sentences when he pointed out that there are more X Factor entrants than combined members of Tory, New Labour and LibDems. He was on more solid ground there.
‘The Tories couldn’t have done it without us’
Jesus …has Danny lost his brain. Talk about making a confession! He’s just admitted to the entire UK that by helping the Tories, the Lib Dems helped pass some of the worst and most unfair policies in UK history.
He can gibber a load of shite about economic recovery, but that is not what the Lib Dems are going to be remembered for. They are going to be remembered for the Bedroom Tax and the slashing of welfare benefits on a vast scale. I can’t think of one Lib Dem policy that somehow enhanced the entire country. No wonder the Tories have a good auld hee-haw at Clegg and his chums. ‘Yes, help us pass this law, and once you do, we most certainly will look at your proposals for better social policies’ (cough, cough …laugh up our sleeves. Sure we will!)
I think quite a few Lib Dem MSP’s in the Northern Islands must be bricking it now after they were found to have gotten it so wrong over the ownership of oil around the Orkney and Shetland islands. The islanders must be seething deep down. They were led down the garden path with flights of fancy of untold riches, only to be told the truth, that the islands have no territorial rights if they became dependencies of the UK. Sure as hell if I was an Islander, I would remember that ‘little mistake’.
I wonder what Charles Kennedy thinks when he reads this headline he always struck me as a decent chap. I read somewhere today that Libdems policy is to stay in government at all costs doesn’t matter who they shaft in the process.
I would have said what awfully terrible turncoats, but alas, he and his kind are ultimately opportunists, wolves in sheeps clothing. To actually admit that they haveconspired with the tories, to have signed up to the dreadful backward looking, uninspiring, draining of lifeblood toward their own people, is unforgivable. With not an inch of integrity, and no idea about how to develop and encourage a life affirming and inspired society, they have totally lost the plot, but not sure they ever had it in the first place! Oh god, let’s hope we will be rid of them as well come September 2014!
I once voted for a red haired liberal from the Highlands.
Forgive me my sins – but at least it wasn’t Danny Alexander.
Annie
I wonder what Charles Kennedy thinks when he reads this headline he always struck me as a decent chap.
Me too – he is one of the few MPs I would like to see at Holyrood in an iScotland.
“sacrifices have been made and pain has been felt…………………………………………..
……. better days lie ahead” Aye right , the only thing you’ve sacrificed are yer principals danny boy,aw the pain huz been felt by the poor and disabled, and the better days are aw fur you and yer tory chums, ya bawbag !
