Status update

Posted on April 06, 2014 by

Just to remind readers who haven’t already seen it on Twitter or Facebook – Wings has been under a heavy spam-flood attack for most of today, and we’re having ongoing technical issues with commenting due to security measures while we try to get it all sorted out. Most comments are being treated as first-time users, which means they have to be manually approved, and we’re not sitting up all night doing it.

That means that if you post on the poll story that’s going up at 1am, you might have to wait until daylight hours to see your comment, so please don’t post the same one 40 times trying to make it appear, or a string of increasingly grumpy “Where’s my comment gone?” messages, which won’t appear either.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I’m getting a weird effect where sometimes my posts go to moderation and sometimes not, and I’ve never mis-typed my address. It’s the unpredictability of it that’s peculiar.

Oh, if they want to do emotional, we can do emotional. They might not like it when we do, though. I think that card is due to be played pretty near the end.

There was one reviewer on a couple of months ago who seemed to be almost kind of positive on independence.Wonder what happened to him. Also noticed that the same small pool of reviewers are interchangeable between news channels.

You could, over the space of a fortnight or so,play news reviewer bingo 🙂 .

Better Together trolls have whole Establishment and UK Police State’s wealth and manpower, to screw with our self-determination.
They will do anything to keep the status quo.
Many will loose their jobs, power and comfortable life.
I mean they will do anything.
History tells us they are very very dangerous.
England is failing State, are bankrupt and need our assets.
We are reading this and they are reading this.
They have to be seen to be democratic, the world is watching, but will still try to destroy us, using 3rd parties and plausible liability technique.
I was in pub with an old soldier 10year ago, who was on the streets of Belfast 40year ago, and heard UK have a secret regiment in Northern Ireland, its a surveillance regiment! I took no notice until Jean Charles de Menezes 2005 police shooting death, where an Army Specialist was in police van outside de Menezes London flat. I nearly fell off my chair. Be careful, stay strong!

What else could we expect than attacks upon independence websites? After all these are the proven leaders in getting the truth out to the people of Scotland. While a few Scottish newspapers are slightly better than others they are most certainly not unbiased. Anyone who has made a sustained attempt to post reasonable comments on their on-line forums knows they are rather selective against independence supporters while allowing outrageous comments from a handful of British Nationalists posters. In fact it is encouraging that the, “Brats”, (Britnats), are now attempting to silence the on-line independence supporting websites. They are, though, now far too late for the army of YES supporters on the streets and in halls all over Scotland are now sweeping all before them. We now just need to keep going for we are winning the debate for a free and independent Scotland.

Then let us pray that come it may,
(As come it will for a’ that,)
That Sense and Worth, o’er a’ the earth,
Shall bear the gree, an’ a’ that.
For a’ that, an’ a’ that,
It’s coming yet for a’ that,
That Man to Man, the world o’er,
Shall brothers be for a’ that.

    Rev,

Just a wee request . The TAMB has a lot of regular wings readers and pretty passionate YES campaigners so a status update there to say there is a problem would help also.

Is it just Wings that is being attacked?

To be honest surely there should be some investigations into this, we are after all supposed to be living in a free and democratic country where views from opposite ends are permitted.

If the like of ex Eastern Block Countries who broke away from their big country Russia and others breaking away from dictatorships have the right to self-determination. Why not Scotland?

I really hope that observers have been keeping tags on all the going ons from the Westminster Government and the Scottish Media in trying to stop free expression.

I see that you are using WordPress, and you currently don’t have any Captcha validation on your comment forms.

If you add Captcha it will stop the spam, and it should be pretty straightforward.

Please take a look at the following link which explains how to add a Captcha plugin to WordPress:

I hope this might be of some help. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help.

I have just recently stumbled across your website and I think it fair to say most comments made appear to lean towards Independence! Just to balance things up a bit I would like to make a few observations and comments.

Firstly it is interesting to note that after years of banging on about the Republic of Ireland and Iceland being fine examples of how small independent countries can flourish, I can’t think of a single occasion he has mentioned them since Ireland became the economic basket case of the civilised world and the Icelandic banks collapsed causing a similar fate.

He has now shifted the focus to the Scandinavian countries and how we could follow their example, really! High cost of living and sky high personal taxes do not do it for me I’m afraid. Also it’s interesting to note that Sweden as a country are beginning to suffer the same fate that befell the UK in the “70”s, i.e. due to the high cost of manufacturing (mainly high wages and unsustainable terms & conditions) the car company Saab went bust last year and Volvo cars were sold to Ford who could not make it pay and in turn they sold it to the Chinese. They have now built a factory in China to build them cheaper. Be careful what you wish for!

Great find Look Skye Walker, thanks. I’ll be sharing this article far and wide!

I lived in Japan for 6 years and tried tirelessly to teach people the difference between England, Scotland and UK. It’s not made easy by the fact that in Japanese, the word for Great Britain is Igirisu (England).

@TJenny Enjoyed the banter on the return train journey the other night- thanks!
