Maybe we’re just paranoid

Posted on June 20, 2012 by

After all, we can’t blame a Unionist conspiracy for the borderline-criminal trousers that Alex Salmond inexplicably chose to wear to the world premiere of Brave, and also on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson the same evening.

But we couldn’t help noticing an odd quote in The Scotsman’s report of the event, which the paper happily let end its story, forgetting to close the quotation marks as it did so. According to Kelly MacDonald, voice of the central character:

“She [Merida] is an adventurous tomboy and very happy young woman. The spell is broken when her mother says she has to get married and take on adult responsibilities. That’s when she takes things into her own hands and makes a mess of everything.

It’s just coincidence, right?

“You don’t need to be paranoid to know they are out to get you.” I paraphrase

Is it just me or does any one else think that A.S. always appears to be relaxed, no matter what situation he is in, be it studio interviews, Q.T., giving speeches etc. What is they say?
“Confidence breeds confidence!”

I know some feel he has not looked his best on the odd, very odd, occasion at FMQ’s, but I don’t think that these occasions have anything to do with the alleged opposition. Even when he has an “off” day he is still able to swat away anything thrown at him by the opposition, something none of them would be able to do!

With regard to the clip itself, can anyone see Cameron, Clegg,Milliband or any of the opposition numpties from Holyrood looking as calm and confident as A.S. did last night?

I don’t think so myself!

Doug Daniel

I suspect Eck didn’t think the world was ready to see his knobbly knees on TV, but felt compelled to make some sort of tartan statement. When you consider the alternatives (tartan jacket, a Jimmy hat) I think the your-uncle-at-a-wedding look is the lesser evil.

And I don’t care what anyone on Twitter says, it’s nowhere near as bad as Jack McConnell and THAT kilt…

Macart

Arb, I reckon he’s on the same Beta blockers we are. 😀

Aye, I wish I was as composed as Eck is. But man, they trews! Would have worked better in Black Douglas or the like.

Arbroath1320

Thanks Doug, I’d almost forgotten about that kilt! What a bloody numpty he was/is! 😆

You’re probably right Macart. I’m on the strawberry flavoured ones by the way! 😆

Macart

Snort, ROFLMAO 😀

All of the utter bullshit fired at the FM over his ego and supposed smugness. After watching that appearance I’d say nobody is more up for a self deprecating lark than our FM. Anybody who could wear those troosers and have a laugh at his own expense like that is no egocentric little leader. He looked as if he was having a ball. The tartan bath duck, first class. 😀

Arbroath1320

Thing is Macart, when the alleged opposition are firing blanks, like ALL the time, they can’t do anything but fire bullshit at the F.M. Unfortunately for them nothing sticks and it is them who end up with shit all over themselves! 😆
