Press pause on the remote

Posted on December 25, 2012 by

Merry Christmas, readers. We hope you have one filled with peace and love. There are still at least two-and-a-half years of Tory-led Westminster government to come.

If you need the words, they’re below.

.

It’s Christmas so we’ll stop
It’s on with the lights to warm the dark
it can cloak elsewhere
as the rot stops for today
Let the rot stop just for one day
only good red eyes, red suits, and faces will radiate
and the cold will hide its face

Now the cold has turned away
we can be best friends with the people we hate
’cause we’ve all got blood
and it’s warmer than you’d think
Yeah it is warm and it is thick
we all breathe out clouds
we were built to give at least once each year

And that’s better than never I guess
and life might never get better than this
it’s the perfect excuse for our natures to change
and wear shiny clothes
oh it’s Christmas so press pause on the remote

Oh it’s Christmas so we’ll stop
’cause the wine on our breath puts the love in our tongues
so forget the names I called you on Christmas Eve
In fact forget the entire year
don’t reflect just pretend and you won’t feel scared
you won’t feel a thing
’cause it’s all been tucked away

And once you’re tucked in bed
you hug on to the day for the last few seconds
your cradled face is protected from the wind
And I’ll protect you I promise I will
and the rest of our lives will be just like Christmas with fewer toys
You’re a good girl and I’m a good boy
or so I thought

Oh it’s Christmas so we stopped
were it not for the tick of the clock
and the spin of the Earth in space
we could always be this way
And as we sleep at the fall of the day
in the room next door as the tree lights brighten
the rodent’s eye catches a glimpse of the dust beginning to rise

The next day life went back to its bad self.

  2. All the best to everyone.  If I may here’s an effort from my own site to help you get into the Christmas spirit.  To the tune of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer:

    Johann the Labour leader
Always wore a big red rose
    It was a revered symbol
    Of socialism I suppose.
    All of the Scottish journos
    Never asked her anything
“Just send a press release in
    And we’ll publish verbatim.”
    Then one day Elf Miliband
    Phoned her up to tell…
    “Benefits we can’t afford
Your principles must go to hell.”
    Then all the Scottish public
    Could so very clearly see
    That Johann the left-wing champion
Was really just a red Tory!

That’s it then, it’s all over!

Radio 4 news reports queenie’s speech is focussing on togetherness!

Maybe if I’m walking the dog and don’t hear it it won’t really happen!

    Happy Christmas Rev. Stu.

I’ll take the opportunity to wish you all the best and hope you keep up the amazing work you do on wings.

Your tenacious  debunking of lies, revealing investigations and the scorching unflattering spotlight you put on the rest of the scottish media has been incredible this year.

I fear we will need you and all the rest with their eyes open on here more than ever in the next two years.

They are trying to stop us from gaining our freedom……It won’t work!

Yes, from Edinburgh (and currently West Lothian) thanks to the Rev for the stimulating articles and for facilitating such informed discussion from all of the contributors here. It’s been a damn fine place to be in 2012 and I think that 2013 (and 2014) will be even better. Cheers and thanks, MB.

I’d like to add my thanks to W.O.S. If there is a yes result in the referendum it will be partly  due to the quality of the pro-independence sites, and Rev Stuart Campbell deserves special mention there. All the best in 2013.

    Dear Padre
Festive greetings. Usually religiously receive – via email update – follow and disseminate your epistles, but your last few sermons seem to have vanished into the epistemological ether: Any recent tech probs at your end?

Hope and pray normal service will be restored asap as am suffering severe withdrawal symptoms re lack of regular postings from your prophetic pen (metaphorically speaking).

Back-up email address for me is in addition to this iPhone address I am posting from.

Trust all is well with you and your team, and you can advise me regarding the foregoing.

Best wishes for the New Year
    Daibhidh (David)

PS Apropos Twitter, have put on back boiler due to a rash of uber BritNat tirades and hijack attempts (these attempted also on Facebook and gmail sites/accounts – Black Ops in action?). Trust your site security is upto snuff.

    Alba Hail.
