It’s another tumultuous Jim Murphy Rally, readers!
We’re just putting this shot of today’s brief Edinburgh gathering (from Isabel Hardman of the Spectator) here for the record, so people can compare it with the footage and images that appear on tonight’s news bulletins and tomorrow’s newspapers.

Reminds of the sympathetic coverage that was given to a 2011 pro-cuts London rally, addressed by Nigel Farage amongst others, that was a complete dud, but readers and viewers would never have guessed it by following the mainstream news coverage alone which gave it national importance and national headlines.

Just seen the latest Edinburgh ‘rally’ interview on Sky News. Mr Murphy is a sad spectacle. Clinging to delusion, surrounded by a small coterie of young (and clearly naive) people. Dead, but he won’t lie down. Painfully embarrasing to watch and listen to.
On the subject of Jim Murphy’s pics in the papers and his “enormous” rally where baying supporters turned up by the busload, here is something to consider;
The Trade Descriptions Act 1968.
The Trade Descriptions Act makes it an offence for a trader to make false or misleading statements about goods or services. It carries criminal penalties and is enforced by Trading Standards Officers, making it an offence for a trader to:
•apply a false trade description to any goods.
•supply or offer to supply any goods to which a false trade description has been applied.
•make certain kinds of false statement about the provision of any services, facilities or accommodation.
So regarding the falsifying of the Jim Murphy crowd scene in the MSM, I propose that if the SNP are successful and have leverage at Westminster, that they propose some sort of Bill, similar to the Trades Description Act that prohibits the miss-selling of propaganda masquerading as news stories.

Clearly they were wrong, and if you are member of the MSM then the camera is set up to distort the reality of what is actually going on right in front of them.. (who’d have thought)
I can appreciate you taking a close up shot like that if your a ‘Borrower’ (no other option really), but for a full grown adult on a step ladder or other prop, then it’s quite inexcusable.

I think the first shot was from before Murphy arrived the rally, sorry, group-huddle kicked off properly, but Isabel Hardman did say later she estimated the crowd, sorry, nano-mob was about “95 per cent activists”. I assume that was not counting press — as it looked like they easily made up 5 per cent of the pico-throng on their own.
So, it looks as though we’re talking about four or possibly five actual members of the public.
How many of that small crowd are tourists waiting for a comedy act at the bottom of the mound or journalists.
Anyone spot any Labour supporters as opposed to bussed in councillors, MSPs etc.
Now, now, go easy on the lad, he’s no got many pals and this makes him feel more popular

To be fair to Labour and Jim Murphy you have to start small and work your way up. The SNP would have been lucky to attract a crowd as large as this in 1934.
By sheer hard work and patience coupled with able politicians and popular polices they were able to fill a 12,000 seater auditorium last year.
Take heart Jim, it can be done, just probably not in my lifetime.
It appears there are no circumstances where Labour either tell or show the truth.

Given the news that Scottish Labour allegedly has been mailing its OWN MEMBERS, asking if they are going to be voting Labour in GE15, maybe it is not such a daft idea to carry out a meeting with twenty of your own members!
It could make the difference on saving your deposit and god knows the Labour finances must be in a pretty shaky state at the moment, as they haemorrhage members.
Would love to know if any of the “crowd” (sic) at the latest Murphy “rally” contained any of the same people as the feeble Glesga effort?

A labour canvasser came to my door yesterday. Bussed in from Englandshire, as he admitted “not a local”.
He was pleasant enough and confirmed that labour would not support a Tory govt, and yet still seemed to be trying to confuse the idea that a vote for SNP was some how a vote for Tory.
Yawn.
You know they really need to cut back on that T-shirt budget. Then we just might think some real members of the public had stopped to listen.

Very important to get these things right.
You can’t blame Murphy for trying it on, under the circumstances.
But for the media, broadcast in particular, to be complicit in the fabrication, that is unforgivable.

Newspapers have absolutely no obligation to be honest and balanced.
They rely entirely on the gullible among the masses buying into their Unionist tripe, to buy their Unionist rags and to help them promote their Unionist tripe laden websites by posting direct links to them, just as you did with The Torygraph link.

I would hope that the SNP, Greens and SSP take a very close look at the political activities of these people over the last 3 years when they all finally decide that their political fortunes lie elsewhere and apply for entry.
Remember he had crowds like this at his 100 towns in 100 days tour and they still mustered an alleged 55% of the vote.

What time was this on? Went a stroll there on my lunch break to see if anything was still happening. Arrived at 12.30, nobody there with the exception of six people setting up a Tory stall.
Half of that crowd look like they are media in the bottom pic. Oh dear.

Good move by Murphy to stand beside the ice cream van. Fortunately, the sun was shining and the queue was considerable.
This is just a repeat of his pathetic tactic from last year’s pre-referendum Grand Tour of Scotland when he took his ‘audience’ round the country with him.
This was beautifully shown in the succession of pictures taken around the country showing the same faces present in whatever town the great charlatan mounted his Irn Bru crates.
Again, the media conspires with him in only showing tight close-ups disguising the pitifully small numbers- all so very predictable.
Another brillant performance from Nicola in today’s FMQs when she yet again easily swatted Deputy Dug out of the ground without breaking sweat.
If it wasn’t for the realisation of what she stood for I would be beginning to feeel sorry for Kezia.
If you have the vision; the policies; the belief; and some charisma they will come!

Down here in South Northumberland, I have had one political leaflet through the door. For the conservatives. My MP was a Labour MP. I think he’s in a pretty safe seat,so I reckon a lot of the money and activists from northern safe seats has gone oop, oop north. (I’d say north of Hadrian’s wall, but I’m already north of the wall).
Definitely ‘interesting times’.

There was a rally there yesterday morning.
It was in the National the reproter said it was a sad affair with very few real people mostly reporters and the odd activist.
Hard to believe that’s a political rally. Looks more like a few people having a group hug. Or maybe they’re just discussing their appearance money.
What would Keir Hardie think of his party in Scotland?
Led by a rabid right-winger who campaigned with Tories to deny Scottish independence and hugged them when the results came through? A professional trougher who supports nuclear weapons on the Clyde, privatisation and austerity cuts?
Then the deputy leader who humiliates herself everytime she opens her mouth, refusing to answer any direct questions and bleating “SNP bad” when she is asked to talk about her own election manifesto?
A party which holds fake rallies in the centre of Glasgow which only attract a handful of already paid-up members?
You know that when someone as intellectually bankrupt as Johann Lamont turns out to be Cassandra that it is time to dissolve the party, lock the door and throw the keys in the Clyde.
It is a bit like the Communist Party which ruled Russia for so long; their name is so toxic that they will simply never be in power again in Scotland on their history alone.
Thank goodness are youth are so clued up. Two-thirds of youngsters plan to vote SNP. Try telling them, with their access to social media, about Jim Murphy’s fake rallies and claims “I’m astonished by how easy it’s been to outwit the SNP.”

First photo from the Mound,other photos showing how the Scottish Media framed photos from earlier `Rally` to make it look like Murphy was talking to a large crowd.
I think other photos were in the town of Glasgow.
I’m guessing there will be people complaining about nasty anti-democratic tactics of Labour activists being photographed to try and intimidate them out of playing their part in the election.
The truth, of course, is that if the media did its job and showed the truth, rather than what Jim Murphy *wants* them to show, then there’d be no need for people to be taking photographs.
It’s pathetic that they go along with it so obediently.

Looks like the photo was taken looking roughly NW towards the corner of Princes St & Hanover St from The Mound.
What time was it supposedly taken? I’m not into ‘conspiracy theories’ but from the shadows it looks like the sun was fairly well round to the south at the time it was taken so not early morning. Yet, as has been mentioned,the shadows are quite long, which suggests a low sun. Of course I’m probably talking bollocks!

Was at this massive rally today at the Mound Edinburgh there must have been at least 40 people in attendance . Let Murpy settle in to usual routine telling this massive crowd what he could do for Scotland , then unfortunately I’d heard enough and lost the heid a wee bit I shouted he shouted , I was told to shut up I told them to shut up they filmed me I filmed them and it was a most enjoyable morning , hope to have another opportunity very soon .
It’s a photo shoot, pure and simple. Stage managed and McTernan orchestrated for media use only, later in the day, hence the early morning. VT editors at the BBC need it asap for the Lunchtime news. Target audience? Who watches TV at lunchtime?

An ex-RN buddy of mine had Tilda thingmy at his door in the Briggs, asking how he was going to vote. SNP he replied in his Dorset accent. And how did he vote in the referendum she enquired further. YES to that and she buggered off.

Hey! You! As a boy and youth I used to frequent, “Speaker’s Corner”. and, BTW: if memory serves it was some historic charter or something that the Edinburgh Authorities could do nothing about. Something like the, “Blue Blanket”, sort of thing.

Just watched the ebc report on Murferatu’s “rally”, showing film of him from ground level, with only the sky as background. Pathetic bias, but the undecided/uninformed may well be tricked into believing that some people are going out to hear him.

I knew some people in Nitshill who were given bottles of wine to leaflet for the Labour candidate in Pollok.
My other half just pointed out that the Labour placards are actually a very clever idea – they block the gaps so you can’t see that there’s no-one behind them and they give the illusion of a solid crowd of people.
If only Labour would put as much thought into their policies…..
Mind you, they must think we’re daft if we can’t see that the people in the crowd are all sporting matching T-shirts, which is not normal behaviour for passers by who spontaneously come over to offer their support.

We have to do our best to outwit the subversive tactics of media and press. News paper headlines are becoming more vitriolic. Perhaps we have become immune to this type of pressure after Referendum betrayal of the Scottish people
