I’m sorry to break it to you all, but poor Alistair Darling Cat died a few days ago. He starved to death, due to his habitual fear of everything preventing him from stepping outside of the cardboard box he had commandeered as his new home. No matter how much his owners tried to tempt him out with tasty cat food, he just couldn’t risk getting struck by lightning if he so much as took a step outside his box (even though he was inside a house), and instead embraced the safety and security of certain death.
Ummm…may I be the first to suggest that it won’t be until we look into the box that we will know for sure whether the ‘cat’ is alive or dead? At the moment he is both and it is extremely difficult to tell.
This is a scandalous misuse of this tragic photograph!
You are a beast!!!
Squeaky the cat suffered terribly from an pervasive identity disorder brought on by an abusive owner who would throw bones and demand that she go fetch.
One of the presenting symptoms of this debilitating disease (DSM-5) is a state of constant surprise, evinced by the permanently raised eyebrows visible in the photograph.
Squeaks is not now, nor has she ever been, related to that flipper, Darling (though she does have a long-time crush on that darling, Flipper with his bottle nose and shiny, sensuous skin . . but I digress).
How can you exploit this poor feline for the sake of a cheap laugh? You should be made to wander Bath singing the Meo Mix song* until you have learned to show some compassion and respect!!!!
Talking of tweets: according to Pete Wishart Labour are boycotting their own debate in the HoC tomorrow as a ruling has said that they can’t use the word ‘separate’.
@ Freddie Threepwood
Unfortunately no. I presume since Angus Macleod is the Times Scottish Political Editor, he’s will be wanting us to buy his paper to find out. I got the chance of it free for a month on Kindle last year but when It didn’t seem to include the Scottish edition I didn’t bother.
@ Cuphook: you caused me to venture into tweetland ref Pete Wishart- very funny comments. Possible that Chairchoob Davidson of the Scottish Affairs Committee may have to command deletion of the word separation and its derivatives from committee records.
One wag asks whether apples, pears and oranges used to make a fruit salad are extinguished?
There has to be a movie in all this. A Doctor Wha fighting the extinguishers.
The scary thing is, if the unionists get ahold of that cat and make it leader of the No campaign they’ll almost certainly gain more credibility than they have now.
It has given me an idea though for getting our message past the MSM, if we could train a kitten to meow ‘flower of Scotland’ we’d get 50,000,000 views on youtube. The idea’s not fully formed yet but I feel it’s a start 🙂
OT
It looks like the war has just gotten a whole lot dirtier, with the apparent admission that biological weapons are now being deployed against the Scots…no…wait…by the English…against…English…no, wait…Can somebody please tell me who the hell we are and which side we are on?
P.S. I loved what the environment secretary, Owen Paterson, said: “This is absolutely shocking. It’s totally unacceptable if any business in the UK is defrauding the public…..” Clearly he thinks Westminster holds a monopoly on this form of criminality.
Right you lot, enough of this comedy chat animal annihilation nonsense. There are serious issues at hand (like you never noticed).
What are you all doing on Saturday 23rd February? because you should, if it’s at all possible be getting yourselves to Glasgow to support “Illuminate the Debate” link to newsnetscotland.com
This is an opportunity to get the message out to the public that they are having the wool pulled over their eyes, hairy mammoth style by the great omnipotent BBC.
See you there

Each patron here who attends might take to sporting a name-tag sticker on their lapel with WoS magic-markered on it. This way contributors here can identify one another.
OK it might take some of the romance out of it when you find out just how butt-ugly the others are, and the challenges they face with respect to personal freshness, but one must look beyond human frailty, to the cybernat inside.
For the MORI poll, focus on changes rather than totals. MORI have a tendency to show a much higher No than all the other main pollsters; by 9% on average in fact for the period going back to May 11 (comparing with TNS, Angus Reid and Panelbase which agree fairly well with each other). MORI also tend to show lower SNP support by as much as 5%, although this is up by 3% in their latest poll too.
This would certainly provide more evidence the No peaked in the autumn of last year and is now on the way down again with the Yes, having dropped back from being ahead late 2011/early 2012 in post SNP win excitement, is now creeping up again.
Last year was the peak for the union; all downhill for better together from here. Remember, those that said ‘Yes’ to put that ahead of the No late 2011/early 2012 will do so again easily.
Regardless of any trends, this poll remains an indictment of our inability to believe that we are not only capable of running our own affairs, but capable of running them better than Westminster.
That’s if you place any faith in polls whatsoever, of course 😉

,I Can Haz Scare Story?
Always knew Darling was a bit of a pussy.
Ahaha haha. But insulting to cats with dark eyebrows.
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY ABOUT FOLK WITH BIG EYEBROWS?
Is there to be a catalogue of woe?
Not offended. ????
The way the MSM ignore his blatant lying and fudges, I’d say he has more lives than the poor cat.
Cat “Is that more horseshit for dinner!”
That was meant to be an emoticon but never mind! 🙂

There’s an Alistair Darling dog too

And a bird

According to an old BBC article Alastair Darling although not Scottish, feels Scottish! Perhaps his cat is Scottish?
That bird has a Darling look, Richie. Are they related?

Just spotted this tweet from Angus MacLeod….
“Latest Ipsos MORI poll on independence only in The Times tomorrow. Some fascinating results !”
@Doug Daniel
Ummm…may I be the first to suggest that it won’t be until we look into the box that we will know for sure whether the ‘cat’ is alive or dead? At the moment he is both and it is extremely difficult to tell.
Schrodinger etc?

Barstuart!
@ Elizabeth
For those old farts like myself who’re not on the twittersphere – any idea what the results are?
Fuck cats.
Cats ain’t got a vote, so stop pretending they are cute.
They are all Unionist bastards.
And ths first one who comes here and says ‘my cat is an natonlist’ is an idiot.
Keep it real.
Cat’s are idiotic.
Just saying……………
@Tris
Maybe they both hatched from the same egg?

As I’ve said on the other thread, the poll is out and it’s good news all round – Yes up 4% to 34%, No down 3% at 55%, a swing of 3.5% towards Yes.
But the papers (and BBC) will still run with “Yes 21% behind No.”
@Doug Daniel
A big rise in Young voters (18-24) up from 27% to 58%. Why are they not polling 16/17 year olds?
The scary thing is, if the unionists get ahold of that cat and make it leader of the No campaign they’ll almost certainly gain more credibility than they have now.

A snapshot of The Times poll. I love the fact that the country appears to have no opinion on Darling.

“Do you want to take all the fun out of it for the Special Branch?”
They know the worst we might do is write them a strongly worded memo.
Anyone thought of taking a bucket collection at the rally for the WOS appeal yet?
