WoSland’s weekly roundup of the stories you might have missed over the last seven days of the 21st Century’s non-stop media tsunami.

Is below.

Another unexploded bomb from Matt Taibbi. (This one’s old, but I just saw it. The phrase “the jailable class” is a chillingly bald illustration of where the world stands.)

0 Fast 0 Furious

Why are all the best-looking arcades in such stupid places?

Here comes Great Depression 2

Most private rents now unaffordable

The biggest political scandal you’ve never heard of

UK-wide support for Scottish independence grows. Astonishingly, the surefire strategy the Unionist parties have hit on to combat this rise is… an overwhelmingly negative campaign pointing out, in essence, that Scotland is “too wee, too poor and too stupid” to go it alone. In other words, the exact same tactic that they’ve been trying for the last decade, with such startling and notable success in reducing the SNP to unpopular irrelevancy.

Definitive, informed explanation of the idiotic “controversy” over Sam Warburton’s entirely correct dismissal in the Rugby World Cup semi-final

The Tories keep pushing at the envelope of world-record cuntery

And finally, it’s the “Blimey, Surely This Is A Bit Much For Eight-Year-Olds?” Puzzle Of The Week!

Tim Hunkins Under the Pier show is actually much more stranger than a regular arcade, the rides are much more akin to the old style of arcade novelty than what you get nowadays.  I have relatives who live in Southwold and can attest that its certainly an interesting visit.
Incidentally there is a proper arcade at the other end of the pier but it is in keeping with all other seaside arcades, entirely stuffed with fruit machines and only a CSI pinball kept me from walking out on my last visit.

Love the puzzle too, although I think I could have done it as a kid!
