The radical alternative

Good news in this morning’s papers for faithful Labour left-wingers everywhere.

We’ve cheated a bit on that last one, which is from June 2013. But it just goes to show the “Labour” leader is nothing if not admirably consistent. Don’t bother with any of that silly independence business, readers! Just vote for Labour in Westminster elections! You can change everything!

I trust this thought will be delivered by Ed Miliband with the same conviction as his political hero Mrs Thatcher.

The last sentence is particularly important. It is vital that Ed seeks to bring hope to the working class in the same way Mrs Thatcher did. It’s a very particular type of hope – hopelessness.

This is the vital ingredient to delivering austerity, permanent small government and privatising the remaining state services.
