Must be a Blair thing. First Teflon Tony now Asbestos pants.

themadmurph

@HighlandMartin
This may be a new rule, however, for every rule there is the exception – Blair Jenkins!  I hope the people of Scotland also realise the exception principle.

Marian

The former Labour MP Tam Dalyell sure got one thing right when he said that the Unionist campaign group Better Together is “in danger of creating a situation” which will lead to independence.

Luigi

The Director of the Burnt Toast campaign is unavailable for comment, and is also unable to sit down at the moment, owing to the roasting he received last week.

Bugger (the Panda)

I think it is less Pants on Fire than Spontaneous Combustion with that professional liar.

les wilson

It is time a heavyweight interviewer ( Bernard Ponsonby ?) to take on Blair McDougal. My expectations are that he will make a fool of himself and show up Better Together for what it is, a bunch of liars wishing to deprive Scotland of a good future.
Having watched him in “timid” interviews, he is not completely confident in his case, I think a “no holds bar” interview will take him apart, Bernard P would be my choice to do just that. Any better suggestions?

Rev. Stuart Campbell

“Having watched him in “timid” interviews, he is not completely confident in his case, I think a “no holds bar” interview will take him apart, Bernard P would be my choice to do just that. Any better suggestions?”

Bernard would destroy him, which is why there’s no chance of Blair ever agreeing to be grilled by him. (Man, what a great idea – get both campaign directors up with Bernard in successive one-on-one interviews and call it “The Blair Grills”.)

scottish_skier

Well we really have confirmation now why Blair M commonly comes across as arrogant and aggressive. He has little faith in his own ability; being aware people don’t believe what he says. The poll results just reflect what he already must feel inside.

The important role he has been given is beyond his ability and BT should really replace him for his own good. The pressure he is under must be intense; even his own team will be doubting him. That’s really not good for someone’s health. Giving him a backstage role would be the best thing.

For anyone who missed it during the week, here’s the ‘Shouty Woman’ video which had 300 views on Youtube prior to Rev posting it – it now has 3,022

I have left a note for Vellofello and anyone else interested re a meeting in Glasgow on the 23rd evening in the Babbity Bowster’s Howf or elsewhere to suit.
It is at the end of the War of The Worlds thread.
If anyone needs to contact me my-email address is

Still prefer BLIAR;
Im sure his family & friends  are very proud.
Most would class Panel base poll results as abject shameful failure.
Put this clown in front of anyone but BBC honestly !!!!

Juteman

The cartoon reminds me of a photograph of another Blair standing in front of flames and black smoke. Anyone know the one i’m thinking of? It was in the Iraqi desert.

Murray McCallum

Giving him [Blair McDougall] a backstage role would be the best thing

Could I suggest he becomes the official go-between with Conservative Head Office?  We all know who funds and runs better together.

To be fair to the man though, he would be a sad loss to the Yes campaign.

dee

O/T I have to agree with @clydebuilt that the BBC in Scotland are refusing to debate or inform on anything to do with Independence or the Referendum.  We must be the most informed nation on how to make a beefburger in a lab or who the new doctor who is or how to solve the Gibraltar problem.  Yesterdays “Big Debate” was anything but, and this mornings 2 hour programme was meant to be a look back at what had happened in Scotland, yet no mention of recent poll results or the Stop the bedroom tax campaign or HAS ANYBODY SEEN THE LEADER OF THE LABOUR PARTY IN SCOTLAND ANYWHERE?.there was nothing really to do with Scotland at all. They are pouring our money down the drain by turning out this utter nonsense they call news and debate. Don’t mention the “R” word is the latest memo doing the rounds at Pacific Quay.

ianbrotherhood

A wee birdy just told me there a BT stall ‘in town’, but I don’t know which town – anyone know?
Could be the first flashmob – mind and take yer wee cameras!

mealer

Slagging off NO Scotland isn’t going to win this referendum.

The Tree of Liberty

Folks, if yie hiv any spare money, buy shares in Huggies or Pampers. BT are absolutely brickin it. We’re on a roll.

Seasick Dave

Your pants are on fire.

Why bother telling him?

Because Dave, we Cybernats are not as nasty as the Britnats would suggest – Mr Fawlty’s fire alarm test springs to mind with this cartoon though. 😉

Seasick Dave

I wonder if he was in Belfast when the cartoon was drawn.

It would appear that our cuddly Unionist friends have been a bit naughty again.

Famous15

Yes Scotland should now step up to the moral high ground and leave No Scotland to be what it is…No better than it should be…as my granny used to say.BTW some friends in the Labour Party are now aware of Labour for Independence due to the publicity, ironically, and are open to the idea. They feel angry at the abuse Yes is getting for pictures that they now know  were doctored by BT.

Perhaps not, but think of what those people want for your children, and your grand children, and just…point and laugh. There are a lot worse things you could be doing, and you`ll probably find the No Scotland mob are doing it already.

Barontorc

Wasn’t there a fiddler as Rome went up in smoke? S’nuff said. As to S_S’s suggestion that this particular fiddler be taken out of the kitchen – have to say, apart from on humanitarian grounds, a resounding NO is my reply. BT’s cause and effect will bring independence and it can’t come soon enough.

CameronB

I think Blair McDougal was lucky to survive that recent heatwave, as large piles of manure are prone to spontaneous combustion during periods of extreme heat. He is not out of the woods though. I know that straw and hay are not the same, but they are both essentially plant material which s left to dry, hay having a higher water content than straw. Anyway, haystacksand compost piles are also prone to self-ignite, because of heat produced by bacterial fermentation.

I reckon he’s had it if we have an Indian summer. 🙂

HandandShrimp

I’m certainly hoping McDougall, Lamont et al remain in situ. Their intemperate attitudes and utterances aren’t exactly an obstacle to independence.

Erchie

@ianbrotherhood

I know BT are supposed to have a stall up by the Donal Dewar statue in Buchanan Street in Glasgow today

southernscot

The first thing I thought seeing Chris’s cartoon was Blair’s uncanny resemblance to the Robbie Coltrane character “Mason Boyle“. (you Tube).

Morag

I know that straw and hay are not the same, but they are both essentially plant material which s left to dry, hay having a higher water content than straw.

Hay is whole grass which has been cut and dried in the sun.  It is of relatively high nutritional content and serves to replace fresh grass for housed stock over the winter.  Straw is the residue remaining after a cereal crop has been harvested and winnowed.  Since the seed heads (the cereal part) have been removed it is of relatively low nutritional value and although it is used as a roughage component of ruminant diets its main value is as a bedding material.

Informational post brought to you by the department of agricultural pedantry.

CameronB

So I wasn’t wrong then. Phew, I was sweating a bit when I posted. 🙂

scottish_skier

As to S_S’s suggestion that this particular fiddler be taken out of the kitchen – have to say, apart from on humanitarian grounds, a resounding NO is my reply.

Note I was just saying what I would do if I was BT; particularly if I knew and liked BM. I have no sympathy for the man; he has chosen his role and is a liar. Clearly I’m not alone in that view.

Barontorc

S_S, you’re dead right there and I doubt there’ll be even a modicum of sympathy for BM from his stablemate ‘pals’ should he self-implode. I’m just wondering when really nasty McTernan – ex-Oz, will strut onto the stage? That would be the icing on our cake, but, surely the BTs wil not be that stoooopid!

gordoz

BLIAR is a gift from the gods > he must stay in post.
He will swing the female vote  just give him time.

Rev
The “Blair Grills” with Bernard Ponsoby “sound great idea to me, but sadly, as you say he would run a mile. Still we can dream!

Bugger (the Panda)

He hasn’t the puff.

@ Morag: whilst on the subject of agriculture, how are you progressing with the Flo’ers o’ the Forest? The old air is in G major, the modern air A major. G or A don’t mean much to me as a play it by ear!

Morag

I was playing the pipe version last night.  It’s notated in B-flat, because the pipes read in A and sound in B-flat.  I have had two recorder teachers on my case trying to bully and brainwash me into playing treble recorder, so since it lies well in the treble range I tried it on that. Can play it.

The Skene manuscript version is extremely easy of course, even by ear.  That’s in G I think, but with F-naturals in the second theme.

The dance reel in D major is relatively tricky.  There are several sung versions around as well.

Barontorc

Talking of going off-topic, never mind off key!
